I quite like the design of the Jo Loves a/c but I think the colour scheme is ‘wrong’. Rituals would have done it so much better!

It also looks like it would need a lot of space.

I don’t really like/‘get’ a lot of the Jo Loves perfumes plus £375! 🙀🙀 but I think the contents look pretty good. (Apart from soap - just no, not under any circumstances!)

Oh I hope that is true as would definitely try to grab one at that price but not at £400.

It’s strange that there hasn’t been any more information on the price of the Selfridges FAC

That looks like a more reasonable price for the Selfridges FAC, given that they are positioning themselves in direct competition with Harrods.

I have zero idea what any of them smell like, ditto the Harrods offering.

Does anyone else think it’s weird that Harrods haven’t said when they will be launching their calendars in-store? Some time in September is a little vague!

Oh I do hope so 🙏🏽🙏🏽💃💃💃 that’s it then for the whole of September we are all going to be checking at ridiculous o clock ! We need a bat phone/signal so when it’s out we can all be alerted 😂

Harrods have come under fire every year because of launch issues- early release sell out, bun fights in store- so it might be a deliberate attempt to mitigate any backlash and bad publicity.

I do wonder if the pricing secrecy is deliberate to conduct market research on the speculation. Selfridges will perhaps have come to the conclusion that 400 is too much and 225 worked for Harrods.
I’ll believe it when I see it though.

I have been advised that the SFAC is not available for order until the end of September, this is info from the London store.

I wonder if Selfridges will release information about the FAC tomorrow when the BAC goes on sale?

Looking at the price of the Jo Malone calendar, I wonder why brands always offer their own calendars at such a low discount compared to retail. I suppose it might be because it they made them too cheap then it would devalue the products they want to sell at full price but at the same it time it also feels as though it would be a good route to new customers who might adopt a whole routine (esp skincare like Elemis) and also for established customers who might like to try a wider range of products from that company.

Or maybe I'm just sad I missed out on the bargain Elemis earlier this year?

I really hope this is true. I need a gap as many of the BACs go on sale this week. I'm busy pretty much all day tomorrow so very little chance of getting one if they drop it.

@CinderellaParker maybe because brand calendars will have complete control over when/if they discount so they can start a bit higher and test the market?

Woke up rather excited today and determined to make some sensible decisions. Alas, it is 31 August and not, as I thought, the first of September. Bah.

Good point. But a lot end up discounting in December or January which seems to miss the point of an advent calendar. Might it not be better to start at a good price that gets people excited?

My gut feeling SFAC coming this week, but they are quiet due they wanna a shocker launch! And Harrods has their launch tomrrow

I think I've seen somewhere that Harrods are launching in store tomorrow and that the fac will be online again. But I could've dreamt it. Anyway, if you're after the fac, check tomorrow just incase I haven't dreamt it 🤣
I also have a feeling that selfridges fac will unexpectedly drop tomorrow too, but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think I want it to drop so I can (hopefully) buy it and then stop thinking about it.

Im still thrown by the Selfridges beauty calendar email suggesting the fragrance calendar might be tomorrow. I'll be checking anyway as I want their BAC. I also don't think my nerves are going to cope with another month of waiting 😂 I'm expecting big problems with their site when the FAC launches.

We really need our group to have an alert on our phones like the government one a few weeks ago 📢🤣 I wonder if we need a WhatsApp group for it 🤔

Beauty: I've decided against Yepoda for the reasons PP have said. Might go for it if there were big reductions. Ditto M&S. So it's probably just going to be F&M for me and I'll do a DIY one as well. Might reconsider when Fenwicks goes back on sale as it looks good apart from the bloody eyelash curlers.

Fragrance: Harrods already on order. Would love to get Selfridges but not optimistic, given we don't know the launch date. I can't remember all the others but JL and Boots are probably not for me and the single brand ones seem too expensive. I have no idea whether Harvey Nicks will go ahead with one after the takeover but will consider it if they do, as I liked last year's.

September at work is so much busier for me than August so I worry I might miss Selfridges FAC. I might set up some reminders in my diary 8am, 10am, 12pm so I dont get so caught up with work that I forget! Doesn't really help if I have meetings booked but its the best I can do.

Aside from food and shelter of course, these beauty buys are what motivate me in my job. I'm not naturally ambitious but a nice lifestyle with gorgeous beauty products really gets me out of bed every day!

I was just checking the Selfridges app to make sure I'll be able to get into it when needed, and found this hot sauce calendar which my be perfect for DH. Seems expensive but 2.5kg does sound like a lot of chilli sauce!

I have visions of queues round the block at Harrods and HBeauty all over the country at opening time tomorrow only for staff to be 🤷‍♀️

Two years ago, people who bought any of the calendars in store on 1/9 got all sorts of little rewards, (which weren’t advertised in advance). Did Harrods do the same thing last year?

I bought the yepoda one and it’s nice but I wouldn’t buy it again if I’d known what it was like.
