To be fair that is solid advice and something I'm trying to do this year.

The SpaceNK launch is going to be my big test. I don't really want it yet I know I'll get fomo. I will also get fomo at the Sephora launch and when Harrods/Liberty sends me an email saying they are low on stock.

I was using my chat gpt (there's an offer of a months free premium for pp questioning if they'd use it) it very helpfully told me to avoid retinol whilst breastfeeding.

I accidentally signed my message xxx (was also texting my mum!) And now it finishes all messages to ne with xxx 🫠

I hadn't even considered the fortnum and Mason advent until mentioned here! I started having a debate with myself with chatgpt as have JL and will get the signature CB. It's doing It's best to talk me into it 😂 it said:

On a serious note, what are you're thoughts on the F&M calendar??

I've been having an advent chat with ChatGPT and it's insistent I buy Harrods over Cult Beauty. It keeps repeating that Harrods is only £25 more and I should pay the difference for luxury. 😂

I'm now wondering if it's right. I somehow can't get that excited about Harrods though, other than the Sisley lipstick which I'd prefer to the HG one in Cult Beauty.

It's the only one for me this year. I do have a soft spot for F&M though as it was the first luxury BAC I had - my DSis bought it for me for Christmas 2024. I fell in love with the Wildsmith copper serum and Liquides Imaginaires Blanche Bete fragrance. I'm keen to try the Wildsmith products in the 2026 calendar, and the notes of the fragrances sound right up my street. I like the socks and candle too.

F&M always feels a bit too niche for me. I tend not to have heard of a lot of the brands or products in it. This probably makes me a bit unadventurous because for a lot of people new, undiscovered things is no doubt part of the appeal.

I was thinking of getting both. And havent ruled out Fenwick either. Which is all a bit daily extravagant but it's been one of those years and I just want to treat myself.

I'm not going to ask Copilot, I don't think I'd like the answer!

ChatGPT is making me feel like I'm a cheapskate at the moment. It's really hung up on me paying that extra 25 quid. 😂

I think that's the thing. It was a gift that I would wouldn't have chosen myself and I was fairly new to higher end beauty products (beyond those available on the high street, such as Chanel and Dior). It led me to these MN beauty threads and things rapidly took a turn! I am being very restrained this year though.

Thanks all for your thoughts! I think i am probably going to order the F&M one tomorrow 🙈 i really like wildsmith products and the whole pamper side of the advent appeals to me! I may use it as a lead up calendar in November (Novent? 😬). Then CB as my jadvent.
Just hope HN doesn't bring out a great beauty calendar as I definitely can't get 4 calendars!!

I think I would love it if it was a gift. I 'd love pretty much all of them if I wasn't having to make the choice or pay for them. 😄

I also watched the Yepoda unboxing. I thought the suitcase was adorable but disliked the fact that almost all the contents and all the packaging was the same colour - it just looked really dull to me.

Last year’s box and the packaging of the contents was really pretty by comparison.

I will be interested to see how much the case is listed for on Vinted and eBay in weeks to come.

I already have a lot of the Yepoda products that are in the AC as I went a bit Korean mad last year. They are nice to use although they didn’t give me glass skin but at my age I didn’t expect them to.😂. I was a bit unimpressed with the non skincare/make-up items though. Who wants iron on patches and postcards in an advent calendar? 🤷‍♀️

@AppleDumplingWithCustard - I think a couple of the items in this year’s Yepoda a/c were definitely unusual choices 😹

I don’t really like the fact that Yepoda is not actually a Korean brand but is making what it thinks the overseas market wants, (albeit making those products in SK).

The product recall didn’t inspire confidence either, but I suppose that could happen to any company.

I did like that red lip tint in this year’s calendar. It looked so nice on the presenter.

I also found it really amusing that she used her own code to buy the calendar with a discount!

I can’t see a price on Jo Loves. I quite like the contents but the tombola design is not Christmassy enough and all gimmick. I definitely don’t want to display that in my home during December. It’s a monstrosity!

If it’s the same as last year it’ll be £375 I believe. Looks to be a ferris wheel if they are going after the winter wonderland theme

I already have Liberty and am super tempted by F&M - there's only one DoD in there for me. I had it once before and it was lovely. But I also like the JL frag. And I'm considering an Oura ring. So all in all, that's a lot of spending. Am pondering...

I am lying here on my sun bed thinking through whether I need to buy the Elle calendar and my thinking at this minute is that I don’t need to rush to purchase it as it hopefully won’t sell out in days. I should wait and see what pops up on Vinted and maybe watch an unboxing of it. There is a lot I like in there but also bits l am not interested in, like the scalp drops and hair wand. However, I will probably change my mind again before the day is out! 😆

I've just seen this post on Instagram. I'm hoping it's true and it's £225, seems a bit weird to be the exact same price as the Harrods though 🤔 Anyway, I've asked where she's got her price info from. I'm going to keep an eye out for it launching tomorrow.
