I’ve just spent two hours I’ll never get back going through all of the advents on beauty detective ( thank the gods for her) and basically I want three things each from about five advents 🤷🏻‍♀️ . Elle surprisingly or not seems to be the one that works out best for me . But I don’t really need any of it .

going to calm down walk away . And try to stop getting FOMO about selfridges FAC . I’ve order Harrods FAC . I need to be grateful and stop .

but I am looking forward to hearing all about the products I’ve listed from you lot and maybe pick up one or two that live up to the hype .

Last year I got my nieces (17 and 22) the cheapest Sephora advent calendar which was well received, is ASOS good for that age group?

Massive thanks to whoever it was that flagged the JL FAC was live this morning- I was literally on the way out the door and managed to grab it before going to work.

I had enough vouchers accrued from spending on my JL CC through the year to cover the whole cost, so it’s basically a free gift to reward my Waitrose / JL loyalty - which is lucky, as I’m simultaneously a bit irritated that none of my JL rewards included a useable beauty discount this month!

They definitely advertised 21 Sept as launch date, so I suspect the early release was an error and more stock will come online on the correct date.

I nearly bought Elle yesterday, also got confused by the Hearst email today. Holding off for now.

Liberty delivered today, will look at it over the weekend to check day 24 / broth situation as no time this week.

Reminding myself that I’ve never had an advent of any kind before, had never even heard of BACs or FACs until a few months ago, wasn’t sure if I was going to get anything at all this year or just watch the threads, am now in possession of a very nice BAC and a FAC, and need to walk before I run.

@Beautyfox I like SbA’s hydratint foundation but that probably won’t be in an advent. The Cloud Cream samples I tried were nice and the MUA put blush on me at the MyJL event which I like (think the colour was dusty rose but don’t have the little card with me)

Yes! I love the hydralip lipstick, it’s a pigmented balm texture but good colour payoff and lovely to wear. I also like to have a mini beauty base protect spf 30 as I travel a ton for work. It’s a nice primer in the texture of a thick white cream, but it soaks into the skin really well. It’s a nice product.

Hi has anyone had an email from John Lewis saying the fac they ordered this morning is out of stock and they will deliver when back in stock. I ordered just after 8 and got email confirmation and then after nine received the email about it been out of stock.

I think that's my issue because I think like that too🤪 Because I didn't spend it the first time, it means it's allowed😂

Cosy nights is my favourite but they seem to have messed up the details , check you definitely get the cosy nights because it’s in one option but not on the written details . Good luck .

Ha @DidILeaveTheGasOn I just did the same. Got the email saying the Boots skincare AC was now available, decided I didn’t really want it, and spent £110 on two Sunday Riley sets. I did get £5 reward off at M & S and £10 off at JL. I am happy because I got the Good Genes in the JL winter edit last year, and it was a real revelation. I now have 2 x 15 ml coming, as well as 12 other products (ok, some are duplicates) to try.

Hope all are well and coping with what life is throwing at you. These threads are a real solace from day to day issues. I’m currently on a career break to help DD, who dropped out of A levels because of mental health issues. She is starting again, at college, next week, so fingers crossed.

I absolutely love Good Genes 🫶 The reason why I’ll be going for SNK and Revolve. I like both lactic and glycolic, but the latter is more difficult to come by, perhaps they were reformulating it.

I’ve ordered a few U Beauty Resurfacing Compounds from ebay, but they are not nearly as strong as Good Genes. Doesn’t even tingle 🤣

I had a confirmation from Elle, it’s from Hearst Magazines titled “Your Hearst Magazines order confirmation”. They’ve also blocked the money, but weirdly it doesn’t show on my online heart magazines account, off to investigate…

I love Good Genes too, I actually bought it last week to try to stop myself from buying the Space NK calendar 😅The things I will do to keep my BAC count at 4 and not higher. I'm doomed.

Did anyone else get an email from Harrods saying their advents are now available to shop, as opposed to pre-order? I thought this might mean the FAC was available again but I don't see it.....Also, I get the impression that Really Ree thought the FAC would be available online again today.
