@Annamarieboo - I’m married to an accountant. He would totally get your enjoyment. It does sound fun. Love a project!

Noadded · 29/08/2026 14:08

@viccabelle @Peridot1 please can I ask how you use AI for your wardrobe and beauty stuff?

Sorry I’ve missed the gist, but I’m intrigued what I’m missing out on 😂 Thank you 🙏

It's takes a while but for my wardrobe I have done a mix of sending photos of clothes I like/fit well but then I've also spent time taking photos of me wearing certain things for it to help me to decide. For example. I pulled out 19(!) Pairs of jeans and it helped me pick 5 and I'm going to donate the rest (I have no patience for vinted).
I also took photos of me wearing my work clothes and asked it to choose the best fitting and start to create some outfits. I'm only about half way through and it's not perfect as sometimes it forgets or gets things mixed up but I've managed to declutter 40% of what I've went through so far. For my skincare I literally typed in every product I own, told it my skin type and concerns and it has helped me use up opened stuff, create a routine that works with tret and get rid of things that dont meet my skin needs.
Like I say it's not perfect but as an incredibly unorganised over spender, I am using up my products and my skin is looking quite good actually 🤣
I've added some images to show you what I get it to do.

I'm getting more and more interested in Pure Seoul from the reviews so far and love K beauty.

Oh my cream is a brand I've never used and it looks a bit different so tempted by that as well

Already ordered Anthropologie

The others aren't wowing me enough at this stage. I curly girl so any hair care heavy ones are usually a bit useless for me personally and also particular about make up

Thanks for these threads, so informative and fun!

MosquitoMagnet · 29/08/2026 15:55

I forgot to add my actual question! I'll be going to Lille, France before Christmas. Does anyone have any recommendations of any I might pick up in person there? They have all the big brand shops but I have no idea what I'd be looking for. Thank you

It will take me ages to do, but it’s a stylist at your fingertips 👏

Peridot1 · 29/08/2026 15:35

@Noadded - with my skin care I took photos of my current routine morning and evening and started there. Then photos of my stash by category. Asked ChatGPT to advise. It pointed out that a few of the things I was using were doing the same thing. I had a reaction to a moisturiser so currently just trying to calm my skin. A few things I had it reckoned were definitely not suitable for my skin. Aim is to reduce the stash and end up with a properly thought out routine of products that actually helps my skin.

I haven’t done my wardrobe yet but have started a plan.

Thank you!! Such a good idea. I’ve got so many random potions from ACs and beauty drop. I’m not good at using it properly! I’ll have a go with AI 🤩

HolidayHattie · 29/08/2026 16:13

I just can't make my mind up. Thanks to you lot, I've loads of products from edits and GWP which I haven't tried yet, so I might do a Frankenstein from those. But I'd rather like one proper one (plus the Harrods FAC.) I quite like the contents of the F&M one or maybe Fenwicks if that goes back on sale, but Yepoda looks cute.

SocksAndTheCity · 29/08/2026 16:17

It depends whether you have a Boots that does recycling near you @viccabelle but you know you can take empty makeup containers and skincare stuff that you can't recycle at home to one of their special bins and when you scan the code you get 500 Boots points so £5?

You can put toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes in too and I don't know any other way to recycle those. To get the points you have to spend £10 and you can only do 5 items a day, but I've racked up over £30 in points so far after a clearout, I still have at least another 30 empties to take in and the pile is growing daily 😀

Thank you. I've actually only just found out about it and did my first recycle last weekend and have been keeping my empties to one side ready. I declutted three dead mascaras yesterday and it's encouraging me to be a bit more brutal. Over consumption is real in this house!!

I ordered Fenwick before it disappeared and received an email today saying their was an error with the ingredient list for two of the products and will receive a new sleeve in the post. I guess this is why it’s been removed and we can expect it back at some point.

Seems an extreme reaction to a sleeve error. Good on them I suppose whilst Liberty are sending out leaky bottles. 😂

Annamarieboo · 29/08/2026 14:56

I am an accountant in real life and doing an advent experiment this year. I have bought the Liberty and Harrods so far and I'm selling all the items I don't want and combining all the items I do want in one super advent. I also have my eye on certain items in the Selfridges, CB and Space NK that I will be looking to buy from Vinted to add to my 2026 perfect advent calendar. I am hoping to spend no more than £250 all in and get approx. 35-40 of perfect (to me) items. I have a very detailed spreadsheet and having so much fun that project is almost an xmas present to myself in and of itself..... In other news, I suspect I may have ADHD!

I do the same. I made 600 off the advents last year plus a ton of free bougie products lol.

But this year the offerings are slim. People seem to really like a lot of the same stuff and not bothered about the rest. And Im not that interested in a lot of the products so this year not really worth the hastle per calender for me personally.

But I do love the challenge of getting my bougie stuff for free. I have a repution to uphold as a Dutchie 😂

WonderingWhyAndHow · 29/08/2026 17:25

@viccabelle What app are you using to get these beautifully illustrated suggestions?

Just Chat GPT. I do pay extra for the premium one though but I literally use it every day and it helps my brain 🤣

CinderellaParker · 29/08/2026 19:54

viccabelle · 29/08/2026 13:36

I have gone all in with chat GPT this week. I have photographed about half my wardrobe so far and using it to declutter and want to create a look book. Last night, I pulled all of my makeup out and used it to bin old stuff and things i dont use/doesn't suit and started a project pan/wear test project to find my HG products. It already has my skincare categorised and my beauty advent purchases logged.
It knows more about me than my partner of 20+ years 🤣
I should probably tell him to use my account to choose my Christmas presents!!

Edited terrible spelling

i photograph my wardrobe, then get chat gpt to tidy up the images so they look nice in my wardrobe app. We’ve also discussed them in terms of my HoC-attributed Dramatic Natural. It’s good because DH doesn’t want to talk about that. And because I’m the world’s worst procrastinator the bot has also helped me with a critical path to set up my Substack ;agent pleased as she’s been nagging me) and it’s been helpful re which BAC. I hate it but have to concede it has uses.

Oh you've sent me down a wonderful rabbit hole of wardobe apps and substack agents. As a fellow procrastinator, I am supposed to be finishing my application for quite a life changing job, yet I have scrubbed my kitchen, pulled every item of clothing out of my wardrobe and hunted every piece of makeup I own. It doesn't have to be in until 5pm tomorrow- I'll be grand 🤣😭 On the brightside, I have found a VB eye pencil and foundation I thought I had lost- decided on my interview outfit despite not yet knowing if I have an interview, and got probably close to 100 garments to donate 👌

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 29/08/2026 20:23

Working up to telling ChatGPT that I might buy a frivolous amount of products and it is not allowed to judge, for it has no skin. Meanwhile casually gesturing at my other half when a box arrives and saying, in a thinly veiled attempt to distract, ‘let me tell you about the goss with the Liberty calendar…’

Thank goodness for Liberty sending out leaking, exploding or allergy-inducing products. Rather salacious and nice impromptu diversion from Face the future boxes etc.

Now how to explain human foibles to ChatGPT…

I use Stylebook. It’s a few quid not a subscription and no ads. It’s a bit clunky in places but pretty good. I like that I can log what I wear each day and the see what I don’t wear and what my cost per wear is.

Oh this is incredible-I had no idea that you could use AI this way! The camel trousers are lovely, I have a similar pair and will be following your AI styling tips when I wear them in the future. Can I ask which service you use and if you think it is worth getting a subscription as a general user?

WonderingWhyAndHow · 29/08/2026 20:55

I appreciate the tips. With the help of ChatGPT, I've sorted a skincare routine for am and pm based on what I have and have also identified missing products. My wardrobe is next. I appreciate the suggestions and variety of approaches.

clary · 30/08/2026 07:56

So everyone, I am still in many minds about what to buy.

A couple of years ago I got JLP instead of Liberty and was not happy. Went back to Liberty last year and loved it. Yes a lot of fragrance but I love that and use it.

Have done an initial look through and cannot see any DoD in Liberty – unless the broth we have discussed so much (what a name too!). But no nail polish or olaplex or black eyeliner. JLP costs almost as much and has many DoDs even tho the Foreo is tempting.

Initially I thought oooooh to Space NK, but again it has too much haircare I can't use. Fortnums has no make up (I really like the makeup in Liberty). hmmmmm.

Are we saying now that Liberty is a disaster? I might get the JLP fragrance as a side order as I do love my perfume and it's not a bad price. The other thing with Liberty is that I can sell the box for about £20 whereas the other ones only make about £5 IME.

Any thoughts most welcome haha

IlovePond · 30/08/2026 08:17

@clary - If you like the - many - niche perfumes in Liberty, then the calendar is probably a winner. Unfortunately I loathe almost all of them myself. (I like the ex Nihilo and ‘don’t mind’ the 01 Molecules, but that’s it for me!)

As for the rest - and this is just my opinion and from memory, so I have probably missed stuff out:

The lip products - fine - I would like these
The AB oil - fine, but tiny and I would rather have had a cream like last year. (It does have a stand alone RRP of £80 tbf)
The Sisley lotion - for me this is a weird product - as far as I can tell you are supposed to use it AS WELL AS serum and moisturiser 🙀
Trinny - can’t stand her products and one of the colours is dreadful
Darling body lotion - a tiny and embarrassingly cheap product
Jones Road - what the heck IS this product for?
The broth - disgusting name and apparently both faulty and only costs a fiver!
Mascara and eye pencil - fine but I have SO many of these already
Verden spray - LOVE the look of this
Zelens moisturiser - fine
Resurfacing stuff - I don’t use retinol
Hair oil - not for me
Heat protector - I don’t own a hair dryer
MZ eye cream - great
Box - lovely - nicer than last year’s
Bag - ditto!

I really wanted to have Liberty this year as I stupidly joined BD last year, but I can’t justify getting it with so much stuff I don’t want 😿

clary · 30/08/2026 08:20

Thanks for that :)

I love the Jones road miracle balm but I know I am an outlier on that.

Like a hair oil as well and I am happy to try any fragrance. There aren't as many as last year though. Hmmmm it's tricky.

ETA: I sell anything I don;t use and usually sell 3-4 items but sold nothing from last year's Liberty which was good really.

I am in a similar position I was thinking that Liberty was the best for me but this broth thing has put me off. I like full size skincare products and the calendar has most of what I want. I’m not bothered about small size things like body lotion. I quite like cult beauty but some of the makeup is a definite no for me. I’m holding off for the moment
