I tried some of the Selfridges FAC fragrances last weekend and it completely put me off buying it - the Patchouli Gourmand one in particular would have likely got me a carriage to myself on the Elizabeth train home, but I'm still glad I only sprayed it on a bit of paper and not on me. I didn't like the Suede Silhouette either.

They'll be perfect for somebody else I know, but I'm happy that it's killed any FOMO I had and I'll be fine with the regular calendar. I did like the Halfeti a lot, so it definitely wasn't a wasted trip Smile

lunar1 · 29/08/2026 08:44

I swore I wasn’t joining this year! But seem to be getting the liberty, treat box, and yepoda arrived yesterday 🫣

Bessica · 29/08/2026 10:20

I am delurking to say thank you for making me poor but also I have had the leaky Reome from Liberty and this is the response I got. So they are looking into the issue.

Thank you for contacting Liberty Customer Services.

Whilst I'm delighted you have safely received your Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar, I am sorry to hear that Reome Recovery Broth is damaged.

We're currently looking into this with the brand directly before proceeding with any replacements, as we want to ensure there is no batch issue on our end.

Unfortunately, we do not have a timeframe on this matter, but as soon as I have an update I will be in touch.

Thank you for your understanding and please do let me know if I can help with anything else in the meantime.

Warm regards,
Kaajal

Glad to hear some positive news @JoRaRaRa . Hopefully you can relax and enjoy your trip to London.

I haven’t read every post recently but can see I have missed some difficult disclosures. Sending love and beauty hugs to anyone in need at the moment. Be kind to yourselves, remember loved ones with a smile and do whatever you need to do to get through, one day at a time.

user626 · 28/08/2026 20:22

I’ve just had a response from liberty regarding my awful replacement. It has been escalated to a senior member of the team to review.
I also rang customer services earlier and the lady said that they are in the process of recalling the Reome active recovery broth as it’s faulty, but she couldn’t give me anymore details.

Its funny as it made my face feel a bit soe but I do have sensitive skin. I.had it in the precious potions kit 2 years ago and loved it so something felt different. So they've sold us a faulty batch, great. Hope they send a voucher like they did with the granado candle.

Peridot1 · 29/08/2026 11:12

@JoRaRaRa - glad your Dad’s surgery went well. Enjoy London.

@DidILeaveTheGasOn - ChatGPT told me to step away from the SpaceNK GWP yesterday and the Cult Beauty Hair Edit and the Harrods BAC. Apparently we are trying to reduce my stash not add to it….. Which I suppose is fair but not much fun!

@JoRaRaRa - love how your ChatGPT has the measure of you!

MidnightMeltdown · 29/08/2026 11:37

I can’t keep up with this thread! 😂

I’m quite tempted by Cult Beauty. It’s a difficult one because there are a few products that I’d really like to try, but also quite a few duds (like that awful blush. And why are there two setting sprays?!).

On the other hand, I would use almost everything in F&M. There are fewer duds, but also fewer exciting products. 🤔

I only have sample sachets of it but also found my skin reacted a bit on the first try. I wasn't sure if was a reaction to using it with retinol and another serum so plan to try it again on it's own. The face masks I really like though, I don't have a reaction to those.

IlovePond · 29/08/2026 11:43

@JoRaRaRa - I am glad your dad’s surgery went well x

Have a great time in London. Which show are you seeing?

IDontHateRainbows · 29/08/2026 11:45

I bought the liberty gwp off vinted for 70,the 275 spend was a step too far so I tend to hunt these out in selling sites now.

Ironically I have spent < 275 on liberty recently buying multiple scent kits for sale/ gift plus my personal stash but ive made a lot in loyalty vouchers at least

La bomba intensa today, definitely a grower but still prefer VGG elixir

IlovePond · 29/08/2026 11:54

I came home from a few days away yesterday and binge-watched some a/c opening videos on YouTube, (much to the amusement of the rest of the Pond household 😹)

I watched another Liberty a/c opening - beautygeek’s - and that confirmed my suspicion that I really don’t want it at all.

She made me laugh with her reaction to the perfumes - that’s exactly what I was like when I tried them in the Liberty Fragrance Hall!

I started making a list of what I really liked the look of and ended up with just:

AB oil
Lip stain
Verden spray
Ex Nihilo
MZ eye cream

I was really surprised that I liked so little. Of course, there are lots of other things in there that I would use - lipstick, the Sisley, etc. but I am not particularly interested in them - not enough to buy the calendar considering there are so many small sizes and my personal DODs!

I have ordered the Verden spray from Vinted and will add it to my DIY FAC. Assuming it arrives and is ok, I am feeling quite pleased with myself on that score as I really really want to try it!

IlovePond · 29/08/2026 12:06

I’m on the fence about LF and GB:

GB is nowhere near as good as last year’s and has multiple DODs, but I am interested in the Medik8, the PT blush, the perfume and maybe the Rodial.

I also don’t like the fact that some have bought it for £70 when I can’t! (How have people managed this?)

I did like GB a bit better after watching MissBoux’s unboxing. However, I was a bit annoyed that she was ‘gushing’ over all the products - probably because she was gifted it. She is usually more honest, so I was a bit disappointed, tbh.

I like quite a bit of the LF - but again, multiple DODs.

I don’t want a half empty a/c box to fill for Xmas, especially when I already have my DIY Liberty refilled a/c and my 12 day DIY FAC. (Plus the 2025 S&G a/c that I just forgot - again 🙈)

I am enjoying pondering all this, though. (It’s a good distraction from ‘real life’ and costs nothing as long as I don’t actually buy anything 😹😹😹)

IlovePond · 29/08/2026 13:19

I’ve signed up to the waitlists for PureSeoul and Oh My Cream.

Still pondering GB - I think LF is off the table.

I don’t ‘need’ any of them, but we shall see.

IlovePond · 29/08/2026 13:27

I still prefer Harrods BAC of all the ones I have seen so far - it has relatively few DODs for me, but it is more than I wanted to spend.

Is there any news on when the calendars will be released in store?

Thanks

I have gone all in with chat GPT this week. I have photographed about half my wardrobe so far and using it to declutter and want to create a look book. Last night, I pulled all of my makeup out and used it to bin old stuff and things i dont use/doesn't suit and started a project pan/wear test project to find my HG products. It already has my skincare categorised and my beauty advent purchases logged.
It knows more about me than my partner of 20+ years 🤣
I should probably tell him to use my account to choose my Christmas presents!!

Edited terrible spelling

Peridot1 · 29/08/2026 14:03

@viccabelle - my wardrobe is next on my list. I have done skin care and hair stuff so far. Will do make up too but I don’t have a large stash. Perfumes I have a lot of small sizes and a lot of old stuff as I don’t wear it often.

Clothes I definitely need to do. I have lost over 60 pounds over the last few years and have loved being able to buy what I like rather than what just happens to come in my size. And my taste is different now too. I like the idea of a look book.

That's why I'm doing it. I'm 4 dress sizes down and trying to re learn how to dress!! Congratulations on the weight loss 🙌

Noadded · 29/08/2026 14:08

@viccabelle @Peridot1 please can I ask how you use AI for your wardrobe and beauty stuff?

Sorry I’ve missed the gist, but I’m intrigued what I’m missing out on 😂 Thank you 🙏

I am an accountant in real life and doing an advent experiment this year. I have bought the Liberty and Harrods so far and I'm selling all the items I don't want and combining all the items I do want in one super advent. I also have my eye on certain items in the Selfridges, CB and Space NK that I will be looking to buy from Vinted to add to my 2026 perfect advent calendar. I am hoping to spend no more than £250 all in and get approx. 35-40 of perfect (to me) items. I have a very detailed spreadsheet and having so much fun that project is almost an xmas present to myself in and of itself..... In other news, I suspect I may have ADHD!

Also, I think I will buy the pureseoul as a treat to myself without seeing any more spoilers.... because K beauty is exciting and fun and why not?

Is there anywhere we are allowed to all share our Vinted IDs so we can sell and buy from each other?

I have yet to meet an accountant who doesn’t have a bit of a love affair going with Excel😂.

Are you doing pivot tables? I’m not sure what they are but I know several accountants who are very partial to them.

IlovePond · 29/08/2026 15:17

@Annamarieboo - what people do is PM each other with their usernames.

If you put your Vinted or eBay name on the public forum MN will probably have to remove it, as it can be seen as a violation of the rules against selling/advertising/promoting things for sale.

Another thing that people sometimes do around Xmas is exchange calendar items with each other - again via PM.

If doing either of these things, people should be aware that there is no facility to remove your name, address, email, PayPal or Vinted/eBay details from the MN PM system once they are in there. Users can delete their own messages, but they don’t delete at the recipient’s end. They also stay on MN’s system forever apparently.

I have spoken to MN about this, because I do think you should be allowed to permanently delete your own information/messages. However, the only solution they could offer was to delete your account, (a name change isn’t enough).

This, apparently, removes the content of all private messages, whilst leaving the username.

I can’t vouch for whether this solution works, but it seems a bit drastic. It’s why I don’t exchange details via PM myself, but I appreciate that other people don’t mind. It’s just something to be aware of.

Peridot1 · 29/08/2026 15:31

@viccabelle - and to you! It’s fun relearning how to dress! And expensive!

Peridot1 · 29/08/2026 15:35

@Noadded - with my skin care I took photos of my current routine morning and evening and started there. Then photos of my stash by category. Asked ChatGPT to advise. It pointed out that a few of the things I was using were doing the same thing. I had a reaction to a moisturiser so currently just trying to calm my skin. A few things I had it reckoned were definitely not suitable for my skin. Aim is to reduce the stash and end up with a properly thought out routine of products that actually helps my skin.

I haven’t done my wardrobe yet but have started a plan.
