Would you consider laser treatment for larger freckles or try to embrace them?

If these freckles belonged to you, would they bother you? I've had freckles all of my life, and always hated them. Typical pale ginger freckle appreance. School wasn't an easy ride but I managed through. After a recent hot holiday aboard and no escape from the sun my freckles have gotten larger and darker. I'd like to get them lasered, but its not cheap, it flipping hurts and it will take a lot of time and care to scale them back. Just to note that i could afford it if I saved a little every month.

If you saw me out and about would you think "gosh what large freckles they are, very odd looking"? And if you had these freckles, would you laser them off?

I'm not sure if im tried of being ashamed of them and want to embrace them or just want them gone and have less freckly arms.

Kind advice is greatly appreciated.

Absolutely embrace them.

Not at all. I'd think it's very normal for someone who's very light-skinned and, possibly, ginger to have freckles like this. You're known for having sun-sensitive skin, and this is just a natural "consequence" of that. Nothing odd about it...

And if you had these freckles, would you laser them off?
No, I wouldn't.

Yodeldodeldo · 15/08/2026 16:42

I wouldn't laser them.

And I speak as one who had her freckles lasered off her face.

TreatedAsOptional · 15/08/2026 23:28

I’m a fair skinned brunette and I have them too.
I hate how my legs look whiter than white with hardly any freckles, but my arms and face have loads.

My face doesn’t even have the cute ones that are just over the cheeks / nose. They’re at the top of my forehead, near the hairline, either side of my eyes. They’re just not the cute kind! And I wear SPF everyday but I’ve had these since I was a child.

I’d love to just tan like other people do!
I won’t do anything about them but I do dislike them (on me).

TreatedAsOptional · 15/08/2026 23:32

My arm! Cropped photo 😅
Anyway, I do sympathise OP. Maybe one day we can love them.

I have freckles on my arms too but have never given them a thought
Would I love to have skin that tans easily of course but I don’t so that’s it , I have things I’m sure others would like I’m tall have curly hair others have told me they would love so I try look at it like that! Spend money on a great holiday don’t get laser

They are one of the things that make you you!
I’m sure there are much more fun and pain free things you could spend money on. Holidays, theatre trips, books, restaurants, shoes - whatever floats your boat.

Absolutely !
I have always found freckles quite attractive.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 16/08/2026 08:26

I honestly think they look lovely.

evilharpy · 16/08/2026 12:12

I love freckles. Yours are super, so pretty.

BiteSizeByzantine · 17/08/2026 00:07

Ive always thought freckles were incredibly beautiful

Shabang21 · 17/08/2026 14:57

If I saw you out and about I would think you were beautiful! My kids both have freckles, and one has vitiligo too - I think they look unique and gorgeous! My unfreckled face is very jealous of their freckles, so I’m a definite “don’t laser them” voter!

MargaretMeldrew · 17/08/2026 15:22

I love freckles. I could never understand why two of my SIL’s spent so much time trying to cover them up. One of them in particular gets regular spray tans to help the freckles blend in, but she looks like an Oompa Loompa bless her. The other one has now just decided to live with them. I think they’re beautiful.

pinkpony88 · 17/08/2026 16:14

I think they are really lovely! I definitely wouldn’t be getting rid of them if they were mine! 😍

Squirrelsnut · 17/08/2026 16:28

My auntie called them 'fairy kisses!'
They're fine.

I think they are fine. Lots of people have got arms loke that..I think laser treatment eould be madness. But then im someone who thinks freckles on faces looks incredibly attractive.

Bufftailed · 17/08/2026 17:16

There are a lot. But they are not unattractive so I don’t think I would get rid of them

MsFogi · 17/08/2026 19:41

No way OP - they are gorgeous, don't get rid of them. I used to have freckles and they suddenly disappeard in my 20s (now I'm just white!!) - I would love to have them back and occassionally draw them on my face with a freckle pencil (I don't go out with them in case they smudge but just do it because I miss them).

TheignT · 17/08/2026 19:49

I've got way more freckles on my arms, they are so many at the moment it almost looks like I've got very tanned arms.

I got teased at school when I was 5 and I was upset. My dad told me freckles were the marks where the angels kissed you and people without them are nasty because they are jealous. Obviously my dad never told me lies so I've always been happy with my freckles. It's just us isn't it and if the jealous people are looking well let them look.
