What foundation are we all using?

Not child related but need some mum support,So I’m getting older And starting to notice old age pigmentation on my face brown marks. Just wondering, what foundation everyone’s using I would like something off the shelf because on a budget, Feel like I put make-up on in the morning and by the afternoon, it’s disappeared.

A quarter of a tsp of SPF 50 on your face every single day, azalaic acid to help fade pigmentation. Foundation i recommend Chanel Les beiges water fresh complexion touch

L'Oréal True Match is brilliant for me. Genuinely suits me better than a lot of the most expensive brands.

I use an Elf primer beforehand (in the green tube, again very inexpensive) and it holds really well and doesn't settle into fine lines.

I've tried many as most and now unexpectedly on a Superdrug own brand. Does the job fpr peanuts and get compliments on it.
For special occasions it's Yves Saint Laurent All Hours.

and I love Armani silk. i also love Fenty foundation - I apply on the back of my hand then whirl a big powder brush onto it then sweep it over my face.

None, its too hot!!! Seriously tho, clinique.

Another vote for Victoria Beckham, i really didnt want to love it because it's expensive but its excellent. A little goes a long way. Also love the eye pencils xx

Can I throw in Lumene CC cream? I keep going back to it and I have tried a lot of high end and drugstore foundations over the years

My skin's pretty good and like pp, I like to focus on skincare, but when I do want a bit 'more' I use The Ordinary Serum Foundation. It's literally the only one I can stand on my skin - I hate the feel of foundation generally.

It's a little dewy, very light but delivers the level of coverage I want. It's buildable and mixes easily with serum/liquid highlighter/spf. It also comes in the widest range of shades and cool/warm/neutral options I've seen at this price point (it's cheap as chips).

The brown markings are called Melasma. They are very sun sensitive so it is important to use sunscreen consistently.
If you want something light and easy to wear, consider a skin tint to even it all out, or a tinted moisturiser. I am a fan of the Chanel one with the wee bubbles of pigment, but it is super expensive and comes in a tiny bottle.
Korean BB or CC creams might interest you (Missha has a great one in the red tube) BB offers more coverage and CC is more about colour correction, if that helps.

The super goop glow in sunrise (with SPF 30) I’ve found light and good for fair/medium skin with hyper pigment.

I’m using anti pigment SPF 50 by La Roche Possay, I wear a wided brimmed hat/sit in the shade outside, but you can get hyperpigmentation even in shade, getting hot, touching your face apparently.

I focus on skin health, meaning cleansing, toner, serum, moisturiser, and most importantly sun cream daily. As for foundation I use the L'Oréal CC foundation, that covers to your skin type, which is light and well priced. Available on Amazon for quickness at around £8.00

For a full coverage Vichy is good (just in case) but to be honest with very dry skin I live on rimmel perfect match- I got it as I heard it was a dupe for ysl and I love it. I think primer is as important at our age to be honest but I’m stuck on that at the moment money wise as budget primers haven’t done the job (max factor, rimmel, Mabelline, Catrice, L’Oréal).

No7 stay perfect... Really stays! More medium coverage than light and better match colour wise for me ...I find cc creams too yellow tone (i am pale with dark hair ) shop advisor advised on colour abd was v good..
However also use this works camera flash balm primer which is amazing..
Other skincare is.. ordinary serum and moisturiser, geek glow retinol... And this works overnight cleanser . Nothing too pricey..

Over the summer I have been using Sea Magik CC cream and I love it. I am 53 and the foundation that I have been using for a while (l'oreal serum one) just looked too much and like it was just sat on my skin.

Ask for free samples - I get several uses from a sample as I use on the middle of my face also/not very heavy coverage. You can see which one you like.

I've used Jan Iredale mineral powder in the past, with a brush. It has spf built in. Currently using Laura Mercier over my sum cream if I'm using makeup - the one in the pan with a brush. I just cover the middle of my face . Both are pricey but I find liquids harder to manage and I don't use a lot so get several months out of a product.

I use Laura Geller, which works well for me.

I use Prada reveal. Don't usually use foundation, just tinted moisturiser. Prada is very velvety and blurring medium coverage. I have dry aging skin. I leant it to my daughter who has a lot of texture and is oily - she looked beautiful in it too. Very natural but perfecting

Clarins Skin Illusion, the liquid version. It covers my skin pigmentation without being too heavy and remains in place all day. In this weather I apply it with a very light touch, concentrating on the areas that really need it and lightly skimming over the rest! It's quite pricey at £39, but lasts for ages as a little goes a long way.

Start using spf 50 every day on your face. I do have a sun spot discolouration as well.

I use the La Roche pleat tinted spf. It gives enough coverage and isn’t cakey. Last most of the day and I don’t sweat it off within seconds of putting it on. Plus obviously has a full spf50.
otherwise I use the Estée Lauder double wear sheer tint. It’s lovely and weightless and gives a gorgeous glowy look to my skin.

My best advice is to Invest in a decent clinical SPF eg Juliette Armand which you can get tinted or then just tinted moisturiser with bronzer on top. Pigmentation is made worse if you don’t use a high SPF and coverage with foundation makes the skin look caked on. I’m over 50 and this method since my 30’s has worked.

Trinny London BFF skin tint, adapts to your own colour and is long lasting and light, feels like silk, also just bought Jones Road which is serum based and absolutely beautiful.

The Smooche one that comes out of the container white and changes to match your skin. It actually works! Quite expensive though. Still mourning the passing of the old Doublewear - the new version doesn't cut the mustard with me at all. I wish manufacturers wouldn't fiddle with formulas. I swear the Mac lipstick formula has been fiddled with too...

This summer just moisturiser with Bondi beach tanning drops in, I use two drops twice a week and it just makes me look healthy and it doesn't sweat off. I also use glossier stretch concealer just a little bit under my eyes

I don't wear make up that often now but when I do, I use Il Makiage concealer and foundation. They are both excellent and reasonably priced.
