What foundation are we all using?

Not child related but need some mum support,So I’m getting older And starting to notice old age pigmentation on my face brown marks. Just wondering, what foundation everyone’s using I would like something off the shelf because on a budget, Feel like I put make-up on in the morning and by the afternoon, it’s disappeared.

I usually wear Boots No 7 Stay Perfect but during this heatwave I’ve not been wearing any most days. Not because it slides off but because I just can’t be bothered

I’ve been a long time devotee of Clarins Skin Illusion, but I recently discovered Meroda changing foundation, and I’m converted! It was an impulse buy, made with a little scepticism following a social media ad, but I absolutely love it. It’s light, dewy, and really does match my fair skin tone perfectly! It comes in SPF 15 or 30, feels quite hydrating on my skin and doesn’t cake - ideal for everyday, although I’ll still use Clarins when I want a heavier/longer lasting coverage.

Another MAC Studio fix powder fan here. So good on oily skin.

I use Eborian cc cream to even out the redness on my cheeks then Charlotte Tilbury, Beautiful skin foundation.
If you’re concerned about pigmentation, have you considered IPL treatment of similar?
I’m having Lumecca at a local salon next week and hoping it will be a longer term fix.

People can tell you what they use, which is interesting, but you really need to know your skin type and what level of coverage you want, and what finish, and your budget.

those are the key factors.
I can’t abide glowy finish foundations, as I don’t have perfect skin, I’ve got wrinkles and pores. In matte finish I look daft in summer, though I like matte for the dead of winter, with a darker lip.
this summer I’m spot treating with a max factor cream compact foundation that I got for about £5. It is unnoticeable but evens out my complexion, hides broken veins and redness, and softens my sun damage discolouration.
prior to summer heat I’d been using Clinique vitamin foundation, I love it, but it’s a bit too matte for hot weather, for me. The cream foundation really is invisible despite heat.

Really don't get the love for Ebirian,that was an expensive mistake.

I use a tiny pump of Revlon Colourstay mixed with some serum which just gives a very light coverage

Eborian CC cream and Victoria Beckham - love them both for Summer (not the price so much of the VB 😱) but I have been spraying the L’Oreal red can long wear setting spray over the top.
I wore EL double wear for 30 years, I’ll try again this Autumn, the new formula is just a bit tacky now, but I do love longwear as I’m a real face toucher.

I’m using a No 7 serum foundation I can’t remember the exact name, I like it because it’s light coverage and dewy so it covers but I can still see my skin, I just use a concealer on bits I need a bit extra coverage on. At my age I don’t use heavy coverage it makes me look older I set with a little powder and use a setting spray it stays put

Definitely get matched in store for the VB foundation @pastadish - I was trying to order online as I’d colour matched via the online thingy on the VB website but it was constantly sold out. I went for afternoon tea at Harrods and popped down to the beauty bit, the foundation was sold out there too, but when I tried the colour recommended (7) it was far too light - even the assistant agreed, eventually needed a 9 Medium. So glad I waited and didn’t order the wrong colour at £104 a pop 😂

I'm the same. I usually only wear makeup on nights out, but was up in Carnaby street and my daughters wanted to visit the Sculpted by Aimee store. I tried her cream cushion and loved it. I'm now a total convert. I love her little make up tips on Instagram. I'm hopeless with makeup but they've encouraged me to give it a go. I'm a 50 something year old and the other day I got told I looked glowing. Definitely go in to a shop though to help you with the shade, I can't remember what shade I have but I know the one I would have picked myself was wrong.

I’m 64 andlook better using Clinique moisture surge cc cream with a bit of their ‘glow up’ over cheeks - it looks natural - just like a ‘better me’

I think as you age it becomes more difficult to completely cover pigmentation without it looking cakey. I like to use L'Oreal True Match tinted serum which gives a really sheer coverage and I use No7 skin illuminator either mixed into the tinted serum, as a base across my cheek bones or as a highlighter across my cheek bones depending on what I am doing that day. I have quite dark pigmentation high on my cheek bone right need to my eye and whilst this doesn't fully cover it in the way that traditional foundation did it makes it much less of a feature on my face I think by bouncing light away from it.

L’Oréal true match balm foundation. It’s brilliant. I’m 43 with pretty decent skin but I have some texture and fine lines. It gives a my skin but better finish but covers everything. Doesn’t look cakey and wears well throughout the day without having to reapply

Really love EL double wear. Have only tried the old formula. Haven't heard good things about the new formula but as I say I haven't tried it so can't comment. I would advise to stay away from NARS. I've tried several and all of them feel very greasy on the skin and become patchy after only half a days wear

I use Clinique redness solutions, I think it counts as a skincare? It’s very light and my very sensitive skin reacts well!

I use Nars, both the full foundation and the tinted moisturiser, it lasts all day and doesn’t go patchy on my skin. It’s on the pricier end of the market but last a long time, I think I probably have had them both 9 months or more.
if you go to a counter they should offer you a sample to try, I worked in the industry for many years and we always offered a sample 😊

I don’t use foundation. What you see is what you get.

Prime Prometics colour changing foundation. It's white then adapts to skin tone so you don't get that "caked on" look. They do advise having well moisturised skin, so you don't get any streaks. Online American company, they offer discounts, free shipping, etc. It's not cheap, £28 but best I've ever used....

I use Bourjois healthy mix but not every day. Trying to go without it less. Spent loads on it in my 40s and liking not using it at 54.

I use Estee Lauder double wear powder with a brush. Gives good coverage and I can top it up during the day if needed without being chalky.
