Not child related but need some mum support,So I’m getting older And starting to notice old age pigmentation on my face brown marks. Just wondering, what foundation everyone’s using I would like something off the shelf because on a budget, Feel like I put make-up on in the morning and by the afternoon, it’s disappeared.
Thanks 🫶🏻

Mabelline Fit Me.

Although I try to concentrate on skincare so foundation isn’t necessary.

In this heat, nothing because I perspire.

Instead, I aim for great skin condition and a healthy, very light outdoor-girl glow.

In cooler weather, a tinted moisturiser down my nose, blended to the edges of my face. I find anything heavier is too hard for older skins.

onthebonesofmyartistry · 11/08/2026 17:39

I don’t wear any make up in August. 😅

Thismumrunsonhugsandtea · 11/08/2026 17:47

yes I completely agree skincare is so important. I try to have good skincare routine but unfortunately I have got problems with the pigment of my skin as I’ve got older so I need something to make me feel a bit more confident that covers up the pigmentation.

I’ve tried Lisa Eldridge and Hourglass but I really think going to a beauty counter or several is the best way. We need less as we age, I know that. I currently use Heliocare light, which is a tinted spf 50, and I’m pleased with it.

Thismumrunsonhugsandtea · 11/08/2026 18:05

@SchnitzelAgainI think your right need to go to counter really the only thing it is I’m scared I’m gonna end up buying everything they use on me. 😂

I use ERBORIAN CC CREME. It’s very good and not as heavy as foundation.

Thismumrunsonhugsandtea · 11/08/2026 18:08

@Teainapinkcupme to it’s annoying which one do you use,

I have started using Estée Lauder Daywear Sheer Tint in this heat and am loving it. It smells nice and fresh and just seems to take the edge off my dark patches without smothering my face. It blends to your skin and gives you a bit of a glow.

notafraidofthebigbadwolf · 11/08/2026 18:12

I've just started using an Estee Lauder one. I was at the counter at the airport, she tried it on me and found the right colour, so I just went with it. I'm happy with it. It seems to last OK without a primer. I was using Il Makiage before, but I found that it used to rub off onto the rims of my glasses (the joys of getting older!).

Minasama · 11/08/2026 18:15

I’ve always found the advice at Boots no 7 really good, I’ve never had them recommend a product that didn’t turn out to work well and get me compliments.
That said I use Bobbi Brown Skin Tint currently but it is pricey, I’m going to try no 7 first next time.

ButtonMoonMrsSpoon · 11/08/2026 19:16

I use Clinique clinical vitamin foundation, it’s light and SPF50

Leoie · 11/08/2026 19:25

No 7 hydraluminous for casual everyday wear and estee lauder for events or nights out

Bolonese · 11/08/2026 19:43

I wear foundation every day and was always an Estee Lauder aficionado. I recently tried Sculpted by Amy and am completely converted. Won't go back now. Would definitely suggest giving it a try in store, seems to be stocked in Boots. Depends what you're after of course. I like to have good coverage with a dewy finish.

DontGoChasinWaterfalls · 11/08/2026 19:51

I've been using a serum from medicube, then I apply SPF, a grip primer and I've been using skin tints instead of foundation during this warm weather. Highly recommend Fenty Beauty blur skin tint, coverage, SPF and without that heavy cakey feeling.

MsRubee · 11/08/2026 19:52

Too faced, Born This Way is my current favourite.

BeQuirkyReader · 11/08/2026 20:23

Victoria Beckham foundation drops. Very expensive but the only foundation I would now use.

AllaMova · 11/08/2026 20:24

Haus Labs. It’s amazing and I’m currently on my second bottle.

Buttons4Eyes · 11/08/2026 20:37

I use a tiny bit of IT Cosmetics CC Cream on more uneven areas and then Charlotte Tilbury Foundation Stick which is very glowy but also gives coverage.
DD uses the glowy version of IT Cosmetics and it lasts all day and doesn’t look cakey at all.

asillysausage · 11/08/2026 20:38

I use Eborian CC water gel which is quite similar to the Chanel fresh water tint.

LadyLapsang · 11/08/2026 20:41

Armani Luminous Silk, Lisa Eldridge, Bobbi Brown.

No7 hydraluminous I like it.

Platypusdiver · 11/08/2026 21:14

I use ERBORIAN CC CREME. It’s very good and not as heavy as foundation.

Same. Love it.

TemuTrinny · 11/08/2026 21:18

Erborian CC crème. It’s more subtle which I like.
