What foundation are we all using?

Not child related but need some mum support,So I’m getting older And starting to notice old age pigmentation on my face brown marks. Just wondering, what foundation everyone’s using I would like something off the shelf because on a budget, Feel like I put make-up on in the morning and by the afternoon, it’s disappeared.

Honestly, do not try and cover your pigmentation marks, to do so you will need a heavy coverage which will be ageing. I have lots of pigmentation and now just embrace it. I use Azio beauty tinted SPF and a Charlotte Tilbury glow stick thing and that works well. I sometimes use Huda Beauty easy blur if I want a more glam/going out look but not all over, only on my chin and round my nose to hide redness rather than than pigmentation.

I’m 57. I’m not sure you want this answer, but Victoria Beckham the drops. It’s hugely expensive at 104 pounds a bottle but it’s the single best foundation I’ve ever used, and I’ve used them all from Armani to tilbury to boots.

it looks like my skin is simply perfect, smoothed, blurred, a little glowy, healthy and it contains skin care so your skin gets treated my wearing it. Very expensive skin care by Augustinus bader.

it’s also buildable, so you can go lighter v heavier coverage.

i don’t know what your budget is like, but I’d recommend it, it’s totally worth the price, especially if worried about your skin,

Kylie Cosmetics Blurring Elixir Skin Tint. Around £20 but excellent coverage, as good as other foundations I have owned, whilst somehow feeling non cakey and like there's nothing on your face. I do not follow influencers or celebrities but was extremely impressed with it.

Another recommendation for Erborian CC Crème

I’ve just started using the Clinique Daily Calm Foundation Makeup Balm, it’s fabulous! I’ve got very sensitive skin that can be blotchy for no reason. This foundation is so smooth and feels lovely. It’s so gentle you can wear on eyelids with no problems. I can’t recommend it enough. I’m nearly 60 and it makes my skin look dewy and doesn’t settle in wrinkles. It’s amazing stuff!

Elizabeth Arden flawless finish. Put it on with a damp sponge. Surviving in the heatwave.

I’m another fan of Erborian. It’s very good. Around £35 and lasts ages if you apply with a sponge.

I use the Super BB. Amazing coverage. I’ve got a couple of melasma patches and a bit of rosacea and this fully covers them without looking as though I’m wearing a mask.

Mac Studio Fix. You can use a tiny bit where you need it or build it up to full coverage. It’s worth its weight in gold and comes in a huge range of colours. I use so little of it that I count it as cheap at around £30. And a big yes to good skincare! I have rosacea so it’s mainly to cover that / even up my skin tone and it gives a nice natural texture and glow too.

I'm another one using Erborian CC cream. I much prefer a good skincare routine and a lighter foundation product.

Another vote for Victoria Beckham. I wanted to hate it, but my God it is really good. £104 good. I used Armani luminous silk before this. I think it’s because it’s a skincare/foundation all-in-one that makes it feel so nice. And it doesn’t wear off with CT setting spray on top. I can also say that having had more wine than is sensible last weekend, that if you end up sleeping in it, it doesn’t irritate your skin (or come off on your bedding after the setting spray is applied 😉)

They’re all basically the same. I must have tried over a hundred. Don’t get suckered in to paying more than £20 for one.

it will completely depend on your skin type which one works for you.

I like the L’Oréal Paris true match skin plumping tinted skin serum. It just melts in to your skin and looks natural and has relatively good coverage.

you can make it look more natural by using a setting spray. I like the green elf one.

people rave about primers too but I’ve never found one that makes a difference. I just moisturise, sunscreen, foundation, and that seems to provide a good damp base for the foundation.

I've gone off liquid ones because I find they end up looking shit by the end of the day and i need powder over the top . Probably because I touch my face too much. And it takes too long when I'm against the clock. Fine for a night out.

I've been using maybelline fit me powder foundation, which was great, but they don't seem to make it anymore.

I don’t use the setting spray and it stays on all day for me, so normally I get ready about 7am and about 10 or 11 at night I cleanse my face and it’s stayed put. In the heat, even the gym, it is still perfect. So you maybe ok without,

I find it does need to sink in after application though, I usually apply mine then go do something else for a few mins, before doing the rest of my makeup,which is now just a tiny dab of concealer, blush and mascara.

but yes, I’m with you. The concealer is also fantastic if you’ve not tried that.

Bare minerals loose powder on well hydrated skin and spf primer. Feels extremely lightweight but decent coverage and looks natural.

The concealer is really good too. I agree. As are the eye pencils, mascara and contour stick ( the woman at the VB counter in Brown Thomas did an absolute number on me 😂)

U have to makesure have good skin preparation moisturizer ect ect I use loose powder to set then urban decay setting spray lasts all day and skin looks dewy and this foundation may seem expensive but it lasts ages and ages so it well worth a small amount goes along way if you go into a beauty play like H beauty or Dior boots ask them.for a sample x

i like the BB cream version slightly better by erborian but both are great. Don’t sit in wrinkles or emphasis dry spots

Cover girl fresh skin milk, but not often. I’m more likely to do my undereyes with tower 28 concealer, set with charlotte tillbury powder then do blush and bronzer drops.

I never needed blush or concealer till I hit 40. Now they brighten me up

MAC face and body foundation.

Clarins skin illusionist. It smells like skincare, lightweight but build able and I use it with the bobbi brown face base primer.

I’ve stopped wearing foundation altogether and am using skin & me prescription cream in the evening for dark spots and rosacea, as well as a high strength vitamin c serum in the morning, followed by sunblock moisturiser. It has honestly made so much difference. I sometimes wear the green tinted erborian or Dr Jart for any redness though.
Don’t think I’ve ever managed to find a foundation that I felt comfortable with.

Kiko Milano (I think that’s how you spell it). Switched everything out about a month ago. Based on some Charlotte Tilbury research. Work a quick read if you like her stuff.
