What colour shoes would suit this dress for a wedding?

Shoe colour to go with this dress. It’s for a wedding. I’m not a native to style and beauty and seem to really struggle with this stuff! I’m pale skinned if that helps, and not convinced I could carry off yellow gold (as suggested by a friend).

I want a block heel for comfort. Suggestions welcome, but mainly where I should stray colour wise.

I love them. I have more pairs than I care to admit to and I’ve just bought some mustard yellow ones in the sale. People always ask me where my sandals are from if I wear them.

And they definitely enhance the leg. I’ve been know to put them on purely to look at them and my legs in the mirror. 😳🤭

How about these OP? The gold looks quieter, also a bronze shade which is darker - so you may like them more- but a metallic still ‘celebratory’ colour. The platform is high enough it almost makes the heel redundant! And nearly a rocker shape like your fly shoes? And on sale. A warning re Esska (I posted this point earlier this week too 😁) They are heavy and I find too uncomfortable to wear a full day.

My bad. I thought I had pewter colour shoes and just checked and they are indeed bronze 🤦🏻‍♀️

I know - they're dull & dated. They were once seen as a safe choice, but even some of the Royals have given up on them ...!!!

I’m not defending nude shoes as such, but I can see the attraction. As I said I’m not a style and beauty/fashion person. More than 70% of my clothes come from charity shops/vinted. As I don’t go out much, go to ‘events’, Christmas parties etc, and I never wear heels, paying a lot of money or even any money for a pair of shoes that only goes with one outfit is mad.

At least nude (or many of gold/silver ones recommended) could go with a few things.

I don’t think I’m boring. I have brightly coloured converse, and purple doc martens. But they go with lots of things I wear every day.

Even just from an environment/waste perspective it’s bad. So I can see the appeal of neutral shoes. I only own 10 pairs of shoes- two of them are walking boots and one is running trainers!

Nope. My shoes consist of 2 pairs of walking boots (one boot, one shoe), 2 pairs of doc martens boots, doc martens sandals, 1 pair of converse, running trainers, a pair of flip flops, a pair of crocs and some wellies 😂.

ah ok 😂I’d look at comfie dandals you’ll wear all the time what about camper sandals? Just get black or blue or even natural leather?

I think that's why I like platforms & wedges?! (Although I do love a very wide range of footwear styles.)

I remember my mum had a pair of denim & cork platform mules in the early 70s, when I was wee - I loved clumping around in them ...

I also love the footwear & clothing of the 1930s/40s - &, of course, 1970s design plundered the 30s era. I also think that Katharine Hepburn had near-impeccable taste in dress, including her footwear choices - not just her more masculine brogues, but also her platforms, peep toes, wedges ... I would very happily wear these today.

Forgot to add that I'm old enough to have seen Gary Glitter play ... probably almost 40 years ago at the student union in Queen's Uni, Belfast? (Of course people didn't know then what we do now about his proclivities.)
