What colour shoes would suit this dress for a wedding?

Shoe colour to go with this dress. It’s for a wedding. I’m not a native to style and beauty and seem to really struggle with this stuff! I’m pale skinned if that helps, and not convinced I could carry off yellow gold (as suggested by a friend).

I want a block heel for comfort. Suggestions welcome, but mainly where I should stray colour wise.

But then again, im a fully paid up member of the gold sandal brigade

Me too, I bloody love gold shoes 😂

canklesmctacotits · 06/08/2026 20:00

I would go with hot pink, emerald, orange. Anything but nude or metallic!

I would go for nude high heels with this. You could add a pop of another colour with a bag.

Orange is opposite on the colour wheel so would be the complimentary clashing colour. Might sound bonkers but give it a go!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 06/08/2026 20:30

That sort of gentle bronze metallic, if you can find it. IMO much nicer than brash gold.

Sprinked · 06/08/2026 21:03

I’m afraid I detest nude shoes with a passion. I would go for metallic or red or yellow. Lovely dress!

Lampzade · 06/08/2026 21:05

Nude or silver

OneNewEagle · 06/08/2026 22:05

Silver and go for ones you can wear again.

Thesafetygeneral · 06/08/2026 22:12

gold or bronze would love great. Check out Esska heels for a great option!

FindingMeno · 06/08/2026 22:25

Silver

Catmandoude · 06/08/2026 22:40

Burnt orange? It’s a bit different to gold silver or nude.

Catmandoude · 06/08/2026 22:54

I like them but not with the dress. They’d go with something more bohemian. But it’s what you like that matters

IndigoBabble · 06/08/2026 23:12

i would go silver if you prefer that over gold

PS5Gamer · 06/08/2026 23:16

I’d go with Emerald green or Fuchsia.

semideponent · 06/08/2026 23:16

Silver or dark blue are safe options. I'd love to see orange shoes with that dress,

WonderWeeksArentReal · 06/08/2026 23:21

My instant thought was silver but I also agreed with pp saying nude. Personally I'm not a fan of gold in general so am biased against suggesting it.

I think because I’m not particularly stylish (very much trainers and jeans most of the time), I worry that if I wear something too ‘bright’ or noticeable it will look odd. I used to be much braver with clothes and shoes when I was younger.

Now I’m 45 and never get dressed up so worry people would think “who the fuck does she think she is wearing gold shoes” 😂

I mean this in the nicest way possible - no one will give a fuck what you’re wearing. And they definitely won’t think “who the fuck does she think she is” because that dress is very casual. People don’t tend to notice shoes.

Shoes wise, gold just doesn’t go with the dress colour.

Wear nude or silver court/stiletto/heel sandals. Match the bag to the shoe colour.

Oh dear, by now you should be approaching ‘I don’t give a fuck what anyone thinks’ stage … hopefully it’ll be soon 🤩

But we're only just on Page 3 of the comments ...?!!!

EleanorMc67 · 07/08/2026 00:54

I like these best. What is your other dress like, @FoxRedPuppy ?

I do think silver is better than gold for your colouring (I'm pale & strawberry blonde & find I can do both, but not a really bright yellowish-gold).

These Penelope Chilvers sandals that @cantsleepneedsleep suggested are leather, hugely reduced to £69 from £229 - whereas the Monsoon ones are plastic & £65 full price. Also, they're called Minnie because the rounded bow at the front is meant to look a bit like Minnie Mouse's ears ... which sold them to me!!!

They're a great bargain & very cute?

I don't think you should wear a) the Fly shoes you liked; b) nude shoes, as they won't go & they are the default safe shoe - I dislike them a lot; c) cobalt blue as you won't get something that matches & it will look off.

I'm very fair skinned and silver is my favourite goes with everything colour for shoes, especially sandals.

Yes I like silver, especially with blues.

Calliopespa · 07/08/2026 02:30

FoxRedPuppy · 06/08/2026 15:16

Yes I really like them!

I think the chunky silver Monsoon are perfect.

The silver keeps them light and not attracting too much attention and the chunk funks up the dress a little.

deeahgwitch · 07/08/2026 08:44

I can’t do links @FoxRedPuppybut check out cinders.ie - they do some lovely shoes.

ICantStomachWhelks · 07/08/2026 09:31

I wear cobalt blue a lot. That dress is lovely OP! I'd wear it with silver or something like emerald green or bright red ballet flats.

ThePainGrowsStronger · 07/08/2026 09:38

The dress looks quite conventional/conservative so I would stick with that vibe for the shoes.

Something like these:
