The Ultimate Wedding Guest Sandal

Mathair2 · 03/08/2026 18:37

I am on the look out for mid sized block heel in gold. I want to be able to last the whole day and night in them. A pair to add to the wardrobe that will go with any dress. Bonus points if I can get a matching gold bag!

I never thought it would be possible to last thw day and night in a heel but my wedding shoes were the most comfortable things I've ever worn and lasted 13 hours in them but unfortunately the brand dont do gold sandals!

Don’t forget a compeed anti blister stick on anywhere the sandals rub, to prevent blisters.

Astrabees · 05/08/2026 13:48

I have some pink suede ones from Moshulu, very like Esska but much cheaper and they have a reputation for comfort. Quite a few Moshulu reviews comment that the shoes were bought because they couldn’t afford Esska but are very pleased with their purchase.

I keep seeing air & grace advertisements

Just coming on to say I misread the title as the ultimate wedding guest scandal and was disappointed mainly that there was no scandal in sight and also of course that it wasn’t yet another thread on a guest wearing a white dress to a wedding …. 😳

Me too!

I didn’t find them comfortable at all. Bought for a work Xmas party and by the end of the night had to take them off. Was so sad!

Me too. I have a few pairs 🫣😳🤦‍♀️and agree- they are too heavy to be really comfortable if you need to walk or stand a fair bit. Disappointing. The build of the med block heel (Siena, not Valerie) with platform does make the foot pitch less, that would make shoes more comfortable…. But the weight of them counters that unfortunately and cut my feet to ribbons on a hot whole day last year.

Now counter-intuitively, if you find that style in cheaper versions, they tend to be lighter to wear and those work better for me. Tried on a pair from Office I think and the lightness with block heel and platform made them a much better option for me. Didn’t have any events upcoming so didn’t get them, but next time it’s what I’ll be looking for.

I've seen those posted a couple of times. Do you own a pair &, if so, are they comfy? As the thin straps look as if they would cut into the foot?

Culpeper · 05/08/2026 17:10

No to matching bag. A very dated look, if that matters.

I don't own these but I do have quite a few pairs of shoes from this brand and they are all very comfortable.
I'd ensure I had a Compeed rub on stick with me if I owned these!

The OP specifically said she wanted a matching bag?

And the fashion pendulum has been swinging back towards matching bags & shoes for a wee while now. Less rigidly than in its prime era - but doing so is not very dated. If anything, quite the opposite right now.

I don't really care about whether it's fashionable or dated - clashing or matching accessories can both work. IMO it all depends on the outfit & the look you want to achieve??

Matchy-matchy makes a comeback. See, clockwise from left, Victoria Beckham, Elle Fanning and Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Should My Bag Really Match My Shoes?

It was once fashion creed to coordinate your purse with your shoes or coat. Our critic explains how that rule has been bent, broken and revived.

I got excited and read this as ultimate wedding guest scandal! Reckon I’ll make a post cos mine was pretty scandalous

Sueandthegoldfish · 05/08/2026 19:33

Esska Charlie’s 😄

Justaminit · 05/08/2026 20:36

I read that as 'scandal' and it's been very disappointing.

Is this a thing? I wore mine to a swanky wedding last year 😱 sometimes it's difficult to find a bag that goes so I thought it was genius 🙈

WhatToWearMilan · 05/08/2026 21:06

I have a couple of pairs of anonymous copenhagen sandals & they are fabulous. Highly recommend.

I, too, covrt the Nomasi black suede back bow Adora 😍

I've read this on MN before, but it really doesn't apply in most people's real lives.

I've been at a few weddings this year and last and overwhelmingly, those people carrying bags, were carrying bags that matched their shows.

momager22 · 05/08/2026 21:59

Esska. The only heels I’ll wear!

Promisingtree · 05/08/2026 22:00

So the bag shouldn't even be the same colour as the shoes?

Eggybreadwithnuts · 05/08/2026 23:26

Did you find any @Mathair2 whens your wedding?

WhosGotTheKeysToMyBimma · 05/08/2026 23:30

I have a pair of these and they are unbelievably comfortable

Bought on a whim and I wear them to weddings and events a lot because all my other shoes hurt after a while

They're about 5 years old now and still look new
