Have you fallen out of “love” with a shop you previously loved?

For me it’s &Other Stories. Granted I looked in yesterday and did try something in but there’s been a change of direction and Inam not liking it.

Body shop. So awful now. Loved ut since 1982,now, just so bland.

Next - used to fill that gap between M&S and Jaeger at the time. It was all natural fabrics, stylish, a little quirky, and a little aspirational. Now it’s just Primark with notions.

I used to be a Boden obsessive but I haven’t looked at their stuff for about ten years

Agree Body Shop just expensive and unexciting

cant get excited about Zara anymore and getting bored by Sweaty Betty - very expensive and not interesting

Seasalt. And Snag tights. Seasalt has gone through a long period of godawful patterns for a while now. Snag - loved them for a while but they just don’t wash well. And wearing the chub rub shorts seemed to give me thrush.

M&S since they charge sparks card offers

Noa Noa, it was fabulously creative, then they got bought out by venture capitalists and it turned into the kind of stuff you’d get from a market stall. (This was in about 2008 and I’m clearly not over it!)

I ordered 4 different pairs of leggings this year and returned them as there were all ill fitting and quality of fabric compared to a couple of years ago looked/felt cheap.

Whistles - fabrics and quality dire now and everything has sleeves designed for an orangutan

Debenhams - just 100% awful

M&S - just not the same. I want natural fibres and will gladly pay more for top quality. Give us the quality back and increase the width of the gusset on the knickers while your at it to end the garrotted muff experience.

The Body Shop, used to love it in 90's, just over priced bog standard shower gel now.

Clinique - finally realised it's not worth £

Local Baguette shop - bought over, now run by young guys who touch food with their bare hands, handle money, poke their phones and never seem to wash their hands in between.

H&M. I’ve got stuff from there that has lasted years. Was in recently and it’s just full of badly made rags.

River Island - the clothes have that horrible cheap synthetic smell.

french Connection - bland

clarkes. Some of my best shoes and boots are Clarke’s. It’s been a while since I’ve found anything that’s not seriously frumpy.

its getting harder to find interesting pieces that are natural fibers or don’t cost the earth.

I did get 2 very nice Zadig and Voltaire jumpers on sale at the weekend

Original white stuff 25+ years ago was quirky print fabrics in lovely colours. I loved their sweatshirts with the big collar.

Now it's drab and overly expensive and just like mantaray & fat face.

Boden. The quality has gone massively downhill and everything has unnecessary frills or headache inducing patterns. Used to be decent for classic wardrobe items but haven't bought anything from their adults range in about 5 years now.

Reiss.

Used to be my go to shop for slightly edgier workwear that looked and felt expensive. Fabrics were high end and tailoring great. Now just same old synthetic tat with extortionate prices.

M&S. DH worked for them up until a year ago. In the last 5 years I couldn't find anything i would consider buying, even with staff discount.

Matalan. Our local branch always looks like they are having a closing down sale.

Boots. Expensive, half empty shelves. Advantage cards that give you different points per pound spent in their opticians (and different prices for eye drops) compared with their pharmacy/beauty shops.

Zara is gone to the dogs. H&M is circling the drain too.
COS makes me look huge.
M&S has been dire for years.

Sweaty Betty, went a bit nuts for their power leggings and have so many of them, but I find their patterns a bit samey now. Also Oliver Bonas - feels like it's trying to hard with all the lemon prints. Not sure I have a favourite shop anymore. Just want clothing that's simple, stylish but comfortable and made with natural materials that doesn't cost a months wages. Used to like window shopping in Toast but found everything so oversized and expensive but did end up getting a few nice dresses from there. Don't think they are as ethical as they like to make out, so that's put me off.

So many. Gap, French connection , Reiss, allsaints, jigsaw, Karen Millen, Boden , comptoir des cotonniers. I loved all of these and all have deteriorated in quality and design imo.
camper shoes. Used to be so reliable and stylish , now just weird unwearable designs and poorly made. Also the German brand think! shoes. Used to have really cool wearable well made plain classics but now strange fancy designs in hideous patterns with awful buckles and embellishments.
And… crocs. For a couple of years when they had actual stores in the uk they started making some wonderful sheepskin lined winter boots that were like sorel design but with crocs soles, lightweight and awesome . Everything they release for winter now is so ugly.
I find shopping for clothes atm very underwhelming.

Boots-i used to live in boots,but it went downhill a few years ago

Asda-i used to go there and tesco but haven't stepped foot in Asda since covid

M&s-the foods ok but the clothes are crap
I bought a pair of slippers from them and they lasted a week

Whsmith (or whatever it's called now) overpriced,crap quality and dingy

Primark-it got expensive and the quality is awful-i bought some pyjamas from there (just before covid) and they fell apart after one wash

Joe browns-i got dp to buy me a dress from there for my birthday
Wore it and washed it-it faded so badly it was unwearable
I then (thinking it was a one off) bought some boots and within the first half hour of wearing them the heel snapped
Both times the company didn't want to know so I stopped buying from them

Snag tights-i stopped buying from them over their politics but had some tights I'd bought in my knickers drawer (they'd been in there,unwrapped for about 3 months)
Wore both pairs once and they lasted just over an hour
Customer services didn't want to know so sod em (they claimed I'd left them in my drawer for 'too long')

I just want a shop that sells good quality,for a good price and good customer service
