Would you rather have a curvy or skinny figure?

Say like size 14 but curvy or size 10 but no arse and just like a stick.

I’m 5’5”, size 10, have shaped and I’m toned due to exercising.

I wouldn’t want to be like a stick. I also wouldn’t want to be a curvy 14 as I’d be fat.

BlakeTheBlackBird · 22/07/2026 12:32

That's so very sad

Quite like calling a size10 a stick, are you sad about that remark also?

NotSureNeedSomething · 22/07/2026 14:13

You can be very slim and curvy, or bigger and not curvy. I have a size 8 friend who is petite but has big boobs and a big bum, tiny waist, curvy.
I have a size 16 friend who is taller, big boobs, big bum and relatively small waist, curvy.
Then there’s me - size 10-12, no boobs, but decent bum but not really curvy curvy. 🫠
I’d love to just be a 10/12, strong and toned, bigger boobs like C, and perky, and great bum please!

Idontjetwashthefucker · 22/07/2026 14:15

Hate words skinny and thin, they sound almost like insults, how about using slim instead?

I'm an 8-10, slim but curvy and happy with that

TwoCatsandAnxiety · 22/07/2026 12:45

Pic two is overweight and any minute now will be fat. Pic one is ill, pic three is pre mounjaro.

Edited

Pic 1 is clearly a tall slim model who is probably about 19 years old and the photo has been taken from a really weird angle.
She's pretty much how I looked late teens/twenties and I most definitely wasn't ill.

namezchangez · 22/07/2026 14:32

No one under six feet tall is going to be a size ten and skinny. I’m 5’9’’ and an 8 and pretty thin. Would much rather be curvy!

Retro12 · 22/07/2026 14:13

Yep. I think both extremes are ridiculous

minipie · 22/07/2026 14:43

I wouldn’t ever choose to be a 14, I’m 5’3 so if I was a 14 I’d be significantly overweight. Even at a size 10 I’m at the upper end of healthy BMI. I’m currently an 8, middle of healthy BMI and still have curves - large bum and thighs, medium boobs and small waist.

If you think size 10 is skinny and stick like I think you have bizarre body views. Perhaps you’ve got used to seeing overweight bodies and think that is normal?

MrsApplepants · 22/07/2026 14:45

I would be very unhappy if I looked like pictures 2 or 3. They are both way bigger than I would be comfortable with and are both carrying too much weight around their abdomen. Pic 1 looks much more attractive and I personally prefer this look.

Where have all the OP's posts gone?

IwanttoWFH · 22/07/2026 14:54

Size 10 isn’t stick thin. Being a size 14 doesn’t always mean “curvy” either.
People describe those who are overweight now as “curvy”.

I think the definition of curvy is being slim with hips, bum and boobs. Everyone will have their own idea of what “stick thin” and “curvy” is, even slim!
I’m a size 6-8 and I’m 5ft 2. I would describe myself as athletic-curvy. I weight train and go to the gym three times a week. I have hips, a bum and boobs, strong legs and a small waist. I’m an hourglass shape so I have curves but I am slim. I have to work hard for this and I’m finally body confident, having found the right weight/exercise plan that works for me and my body.

I could be a size 10 but a bit flabby, because I am short. A size 14 would make me in the obese/morbidly obese category.

I think they haven’t posted since the OP. The pics people are referring to were posted by someone else (or at least a different username)

Yeah @itstimeforwami6!
You've only asked questions in each of your subsequent posts. You haven't explained why you're asking in the first place, or described your own body shape.
What's the craic with that?

Where have the OPs subsequent posts gone...very strange

Gettingbysomehow · 22/07/2026 15:02

I am terrified of being obese again. I was obese for 30 years and was very unhappy.
Post mounjaro Im doing everything I can to stay slim. I feel better. Im healthier and I definitely look better in clothes.
I have some wedding pictures showing relatives in the 60s and not a single one was fat. They were all very slim. They would look excessively skinny now. People were then. Now it seems being obese is the norm.

I am a curvy size 14. I’d rather be the size 10 stick.

What for? Lack of thread engagement?

motherhoodisntfortheweak · 22/07/2026 15:49

Curvy size 10 happy with the weight as I’ve been skinny all my life. I love having a bum and hips but it’s the after 2 csections belly that really really bothers me

Deadringer · 22/07/2026 16:07

I think a figure halfway between pics 1 and 2 would be about right, but if i had to choose between them I would pick 2. 1 just long very long and lanky to me, fine if that is the way you are made, but I wouldn't aspire to it. 3 is very overweight imo.

Op had responded quite a few times but they've all gone. The whole thread disappeared earlier too but it's obviously now back.

Yeah, all seems very strange as there are no deletion messages 🤔

mondaytosunday · 22/07/2026 17:00

As someone who has always battled my weight, I was amazed when my super skinny friend with a body like a 12 year old boy was embarrassed to go to the beach. She’s had two kids but was still a rake. I was a well padded size 16/18. Both of us tall. Dressed she fitted into that ‘looks good in anything’ category, whereas I was always wearing outfits to minimise this or that. But on the beach she felt inadequate, even though her Kate Moss figure was lauded, she felt very self conscious.
But I’d still rather her figure than mine. But if I could pick an ideal it would be 36-26-36 with long shapely legs (length I have, straight but not shapely) and toned arms. Is that curvy? For my height it’s definitely slender.

someon · 22/07/2026 17:09

Love to be skinny up and down with no boobs. I’m a size 12/14 with ample boobs and nothing ever looks good on me it’s depressing !
