@MsDastardley I had to take mine up a couple of inches. I think they are lovely.

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I think the weather is getting to be jumpsuit weather.

mizu · 25/09/2026 07:04

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I am meeting my mum and sis for lunch tomorrow and am planning on wearing that jumpsuit. I’ve had it since the beginning of summer - a Vinted find - but it’s been too warm to wear.

Why did you send it back the first time?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 25/09/2026 08:06

@mizu I think I couldn’t see that I would wear it enough to justify buying it, but I suspect it was a weather thing as it was so hot. I’m pretty certain it fitted really well.

Countmeout · 25/09/2026 08:52

I looked at sale as soon as I got the email. The only thing I bought was a nightdress as I had been looking for one that I wanted. Anything else I might have been tempted by was not available in my size. Probably as well. I have just bought a dress from Vinted after spotting it on someone locally and it looked so nice. Just hope the size is as expected.
Hoping things I didn’t get are returned and pop up in the next sale. This one is so short.

ScottishMouse · 25/09/2026 11:03

I don’t understand Toast’s sale strategy. I have items from the last sale on my wishlist that are showing as in stock but have not appeared in the sale. These are knitwear items which I didn’t buy in the summer sale as I choose badly when out of season, so why are they now not in this sale when it is coming into knitwear season? Weird.
I know I could contact CS and see if I can buy them offline, but I kind of can’t be bothered. Which probably tells me that I don’t actually want them that much anyway.

CakeAndJazz · 25/09/2026 17:21

Thanks @faustina I managed the table setting scarf, one that’s been on my wishlist for a while. Am contemplating the green splatter jug, but that would be it from me.

@ScottishMouse I agree, the items they make available seem quite random. I always assumed they’d limit the sweater offering in the sale now as to drive sales of current season sweaters at full price. I know nothing of retail though.

Beekeeper22 · 25/09/2026 20:48

@ScottishMouse ive bought the sand jacket that you liked- what was the sizing like? Especially on the shoulders? I bought the M- usually I would buy a toast jacket in a M or a 12. Also bought the indigo jacket that I know was a bit controversial last time!

ScottishMouse · 25/09/2026 20:56

@Beekeeper22 i think it is slightly oversized but in a good way. I have a M and am usually M or 12 in Toast. I often find their jackets tights across the shoulders but this one is not at all, it’s roomy enough for layers. I hope it works for you. I tried the indigo one last sale too and nearly kept it, but I didn’t want to have to deal with the colour rub, and I was also a bit between sizes in that one.

Beekeeper22 · 25/09/2026 21:05

@ScottishMouse thanks! I’ve never ever bought a small jacket in toast so I’m hoping the M is ok since it’s now sold out. Sounds like it’ll be fine! I think I’ll probably wash he indigo jacket although I hope it doesn’t alter the shape. Also bought that in a M. My favourite toast thing ever is the indigo Baya shirt and I feel (hope!) like it’s going to be a similar vibe. My toast jacket collection is getting a little out of hand.

MsDastardley · 26/09/2026 12:32

I’ve received my sale order this morning and really pleased with both items. The Gelato dress is lovely, true to size and colours as on website. It is really flattering! Very long though. I am 5’6” and it is touches the top of my feet. I will hem at some point over the winter.

The wide leg linen trousers are fab. They are a great fit and the crotch is in the right place! @ScallopShellWalk the length is good, luckily no need to hem. They look good with my fish top 😁

Doritochaser · 26/09/2026 14:54

Does anyone have any idea what time the sale will end on Monday? I have the gingham linen skirt coming but not sure if I should have sized down, and if the sale ends late Monday should have time to order another size if so 🤞🏻

AmethystMoonShine · 26/09/2026 15:43

It’s usually by midday @Doritochaser I think.

Oof if the post is on time that could just be enough time! Thank you :)

ScallopShellWalk · 26/09/2026 19:20

@MsDastardley I’m so glad you like the gelato dress and the linen trousers. Lucky for you that the length doesn’t need altering on the trousers. If the dress is long on you it may have drowned me. I hope you enjoy them. I think the trousers are just great.

MsDastardley · 26/09/2026 19:39

Thanks @ScallopShellWalk I wish I had ordered the green trousers too. I’ve just compared the dress against a similar style I have and it’s 6” longer!

triggers34 · 27/09/2026 08:34

@Doritochaser I needed a different size after the sale ended last time . I asked in the chat box on Instagram , it was really straight forward .
@ScottishMouse I’m wondering what knitwear you can see that’s sale but not visible .
@ScallopShellWalkI love how much you wear the soy check barrels . I immediately regretted returning them , I’ve got the dress in the same fabric . However because I loved them I’ve been hunting on vinted for ages for check trousers and have a bargain whistles pair on their way too !

Stoic123 · 27/09/2026 13:00

Popped on to read about everyone's sales purchases. I was tempted to get another tea towel (they are lovely) but I had already bought 2 of them.

Might be my first no buy Toast sale for 6 years. I've just done another wardrobe cull and am liking all the lovely space in my wardrobe.

@Stoic123
Im also pleased with myself, I bought the tomato crinkle top as a pre planned purchase and nothing else
Ive shifted so much stuff and agree its so much nicer not having crammed wardrobes
Strangely the tomato top is a similar colour to the Finisterre raincoat that @ScottishMouse mentioned
I did try it, perfect colour, length etc but it had sloping shoulders(? Raglan) and very wide cuffs with no inner cuff.
Although the cuffs have a strap, if its cold and rainy I want something to stop the wind whistling up my arm
I dont know if Im exceptionally oddly made but I have wide shoulders and a sloping shoulder drags and makes them ache and me feel weighed down
I did buy the Firecrest jacket in Deep Umber Brown, a proper dark chocolate brown so very happy and the search for a raincoat carries on

ScallopShellWalk · 27/09/2026 15:02

@MsDastardley I tried the green ones in the shop, I liked them but knew it was really the black ones I wanted. They were long for me and I wasn’t sure about the colour but I liked them a lot.

@triggers34 Also whilst in the shop on the same occasion I tried the soy checked trousers. I liked them more but thought pyjamas and didn’t seriously consider them on the day. However I kept thinking about them, so in the last sale I bought them and I’ve loved wearing them.

ScottishMouse · 27/09/2026 16:28

@triggers34 it was last year’s Donegal vneck cardigan and the mohair cotton sweater also from last aw.
I had a non-sale order arrive last week and I am thinking I will return everything in it.
-The charcoal eden cardigan is something I have thought about buying for a long time, but in reality it looks a bit frumpy on me.
-The charcoal fringed wool scarf is totally up my street but there is a weird stretch in it which I think means it will go out of shape very easily. I don’t understand this as it is 100% wool, yet it has kind of an acrylic feel to it.
-The space dyed indigo check shirt is nice, but the m is a little neater than I’d like and the L feels a little too big. One of the ones I was sent is longer on one side than the other at the front and it is very noticeable. I noticed one in store had this issue too, it’s not great at that price.
-The cotton twill pull on trousers could be good if I was about 6 inches taller but taking them up would lose the nice shape.
-The cotton twill wide leg pull on trousers are ridiculously big. So much so I couldn’t say what they might be like in a smaller size but I would need to go down two sizes. I don’t love the fabric, it is a bit sheeny which I think looks cheap, so I won’t reorder anyway.
All in all a big old fail. Struggling a bit to love Toast these days, my favourites are still mostly all old pieces. 🫤

faustina · 27/09/2026 17:02

@ScottishMouse do you remember which colours the donegal vneck cardigan was in the sale? I'm on a cardigan hunt and this year's colours don't work for me

I'm also sending my whole order back - partly my own stupid fault for ordering the wrong size of something, but luckily it was with the Harper try before you buy. The button up indigo jersey tee was a bit underwhelming, didn't like the mango colour on me and even the tea towel was quite thin fabric, though the print was pretty. I do love the full price cotton linen cardigan and have ordered it in the right size and will keep it unless @ScottishMouse tells me there is a must have donegal cardigan hiding somewhere. The cotton linen one hangs really beautifully and the slate colour is perfect.

I've been obsessing over cardigans too - I must have looked at every single one in existence by now. Have you seen the Babaa ones @ScottishMouse ? They have an excellent (but pricey) choice

ScottishMouse · 27/09/2026 17:11

I can see the grey one from last year @faustina though I have that and was after the rust coloured one. I managed to delete that from my wishlist by trying to add it to my basket. It might be worth emailing CS to ask them.
I love the look of Babaa knits, but have never taken the plunge. I haven’t really looked into ordering from them, but figured it would be tricky to return as they are based in Spain.

faustina · 27/09/2026 17:24

Thank you @ScottishMouse- it was the rust I liked. I’ll ask tomorrow. I think the frump from cardigans can be when they’re loose in the wrong way, and maybe not the right length ( especially if one isn’t tall). Babaa seemed to have a really good mid length, and one size too, which narrows all sizing angst. Don’t they stock them at places like net a porter?

ScottishMouse · 27/09/2026 17:29

Hmmm, i thought you could only buy direct, but i could be wrong.
The donegal cardi has very little frump factor imo. I would have bought the dark grey/black this year but weirdly the sleeves were so much longer ( no good for my short arms).

Cricketduckout · 27/09/2026 19:52

After getting anxious over the start time
of the sale, I bought…nothing!

I think as I did a few big orders in the summer, trying lots, returning lots and keeping what I really loved, nothing really caught my eye except the butter dish which is quite sweet but I have no need for.

I thought about trying the jumpsuit in the deep green but they ran out of my size so that was that.

My one that got away from before was the long Kantha gown/jacket but that wasn’t in the sale or indeed anywhere on the website.

Typical that I have the kindred free postage and nothing appealed!!!
