Is anyone else using the VFR Boum Boum Milk from the recent Liberty kit?
https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/boum-boum-milk-100ml-000859343.html#pos=10

I've been using it for a couple of weeks now as a spray after cleansing. I do quite like it but it goes down quickly. I think the smaller size will only last another 2-3 weeks.

Despite liking it there's a bit of a question mark as to how useful it is as a product. I do use sprays after cleansing but generally much cheaper ones just for a bit of re hydration.

The large Sisleya lotion in the Liberty advent seems to serve the same purpose just in lotion form. It's one of the products that appeals from the BAC but if I'm going to have that step I prefer a spray. Still curious to try it if I decide to buy the BAC.

I had a sample tube of the Sisley Ecological Compound a while back and used it the same way. I really liked that too but again I wondered whether it really had much of a purpose.

Sorry, just a bit of a ramble here. Not sure where I'm going with it. 😂

I thought it would be similar to Laneige cream skin which is a milky toner/moisturiser spray thing but the Laneige is far superior and much better at moisturising my skin. However, I have got into the habit of slathering my face in oil before bed time which I find the most moisturising of all, so that's my 'thing' now.

OvaHere · 11/07/2026 12:01

@IDontHateRainbows yes I agree it's similar but Laneige is more moisturising. I still like it but don't think I'd ever pay £65 for a bottle of this.

I have just tried the Shiseido SPF cream from my Harrods calendar and also wasn’t sure I liked it when I first applied it. It quickly soaked into my skin though and feels ok now.

Scent of the Day for me (I'm trying to use up minis etc) was Swimming Pool by Bibbi but it smelt horrid on me so I washed it off!

After last night's reminiscing, I've chucked on a tiny bit of Obsession. It's so lovely but fortunately I'm not planning to leave the house today so it doesn't matter that I smell like a character from Rivals!

ClutteredPalace · 11/07/2026 13:05

Thank you for this, I've caved and bought it. It will be some consolation if I miss out on the AC. My no spend till the ACs are released is going really well 😂

Someone posted about Le labo matcha which weirdly I've been thinkng about a tea fragrance because of the way the MZ bio placenta serum smells plus it has fig. But then baulked at the price. Fragrantica has a dupe Silverado 56. So I got that from Makeup.uk. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Amaran/Silverado-56-108257.html This company has horrendous trust pilot score however the order along with another blast from the past EA green tea they arrived well packaged within a week. So I still wouldn't order something that I would may be want to return or of high value but this was zero issues.
The silverado is a brick of a bottle. Got 100ml, very fig with tea, started off more powdery but that's dialling down with fig more prominent. It's £16.59 a bottle so low risk.

I sold on my Rude Oud Elixir from the scent tote as I was convinced I wasn't going to like it, too heavy and there was a boozy fruit note that wasn't for me. I'm holding off trying the Bibbi Deep Lotus until I'm in town on Friday so I can give it a sniff in Liberty and sell the bottle on intact if not. Quite excited to try it then as I think I'll like that one - the cap smells good anyway. I'm one of the few people that like the Swimming Pool one, and Boy of June - the only Bibbi scent I've really not liked is Fruit Captain, again, boozy fruit, not for me. Overall the scent tote wasn't a great buy or a bad buy yet, the sale of the ROE meant the remainder was a good price but I'm not interested in the Montale or the Saffron Secret either. I seem to have gone a bit scent crazy at the moment anyway, but got a load of stuff that's not really me. I found myself seriously contemplating the Perfumer H liberty offer next week too as I do really love some of their scents and I feel like I'm looking for something unusual and subtle.

IlovePond · 11/07/2026 15:10

Thanks for the serum info @SheilaFentiman @keepincool and @TragicMuse - I have lots of serum in the hoard/horde so must crack on with using it!

I missed an opportunity to use the PK Swim Cap stuff today as I actually went in the sea! We do not live near the sea, btw, but DH and I ran out of the house this morning whilst DS1&2 were half asleep after telling them they were on ‘evil dog’ sitting duty and drove to the nearest beach.

I only managed half an hour in the water, (it was freezing and very windy and the sea was quite choppy), but felt quite pleased with myself!

LightandBreezy · 11/07/2026 15:17

Just realised my last post was actually a bit unfair - I've put all the scents I've liked recently straight into my homemade scent calendar, so it just feels like I've not liked a lot because it's the mehs and leftovers that I'm smelling. I think I need to stop my rainy-day hoarding and just start diving in before I buy more!

I really like Deep Lotus. I get cherry/fruity leather from it but not in a heavy or overly masculine way.

I'm wearing the Montale today and also like it but there's something very PDM Valaya or maybe Delina about it, so not especially unique.

I'll try the Rude Oud Elixir a bit more, I'm on the fence atm as it's very strong. I had a voucher so only paid £140 for the tote and don't feel as pressured to recoup a bit of the cost compared to advents.

Thanks @OvaHere for the review, I do like perfumes with a leather note (I know some people hate this, but it's something I look for tbh) I decided to try Marc Antoine Barrios Ganymede today from the recent Selfridges edit and I love it, but it's quite peculiar in some ways - new magazine smell with a hint of fabric plasters - sounds revolting but I like it 😂

Thank you so much for letting us know ☺️ Have you bought it yourself? If so is the tote bag a mini one or the usual GWP size? I’m undecided because I don’t NEED anymore perfumes but really WANT it 🥴Send help lol x

It's a mini one.

I'm hoping I'll like the Montale better if I try it on a cool day - I was definitely hot, headachey and slightly hungover the day I sniffed it so not ideal in anyway.

Hicupping · 11/07/2026 16:25

My faves for hot days are Fresh's grapefruit and Ecentric molecules mandarin. Both last terribly though. Good for 1-2 hours max.

I am not the right person to ask 😂😂
It’s the mini bag and I may have bought a second, I will gift a few and love the Ex Nihilo so made sense in girl maths terms and am also on some fragrance groups where the rude oud is popular so will keep one for a swap

user593 · 11/07/2026 16:34

I wasn’t planning on buying the Harrods bag but I’m now intrigued by Deep Lotus after all the chat so I bought it and it then seems to have immediately gone OOS. Hopefully it comes!

Thelifeofawife · 11/07/2026 17:28

I was still on the fence about the Harrods scent tote, but having read all of your feedback I was leaning towards a definitely maybe. Then I saw the post about it going back out of stock and suddenly got FOMO so checked my basket and it was still showing so I quickly checked out 🙈😅 I also had the Christmas crackers that someone previously mentioned in my basket, so they are on their way too.
In my measly defence, I have sold quite a bit of stuff again the past week 😇

JoRaRaRa · 11/07/2026 17:41

So I've been to the hbeauty beach event at the Metro Centre today and I have very mixed feelings about it 😕

The event itself was good, but it was over really quickly. I started with an Elemis arm massage, which was lovely, although it didn’t tempt me to buy anything (probably a good thing for my bank account 😂), next was the sol de janeiro stand, where she took off everything elemis had just put on me to apply their new coconut lotion. I was really excited because I usually love coconut scents, but this one was disappointing. It didn’t smell very coconutty to me at all and actually made me feel a bit sick. I think I’ll definitely be sticking with delícia drench!

Next was Charlotte Tilbury, where I had some makeup applied. I tried the light taupe exagger eyes crayon, but whilst she was putting it on, I remembered that I have a Bobbi Brown one already at home (which I’ve only worn once 😂) I also tried the cherry blush stick and the new highlighter, which were both lovely.

The perfume stand was probably the biggest success for me in terms of actually finding things I wanted to buy. I really liked all of the holiday Goldfield & Banks fragrances which they'd selected to put out, and I also found a Memo one that smelled more coconutty than the Sol de Janeiro lotion but I couldn't then find that one in store. There were only about five people there though, which I guess that's good as we were quickly round all the stands and we weren't waiting awkwardly, but it didn't really feel quite flat and lacked atmosphere.

Afterwards, I had a look around the hbeauty and managed to find the last remaining Goldfield & Banks Coast to Coast discovery set, which included the scents I’d loved, so obviously that came home with me 😍

They also had a mystery bag for £50 in the gorgeous orange tote bag that the perfume set came in, so naturally I had to get that too. My husband had a ticket as well and had his passport stamped at the event, so I also picked up a Dior eyeshadow palette and the Charlotte Tilbury cherry blush stick.

By the end I had two GWP bags, a sample set and the mystery bag, and I was SO excited to open everything. You don’t get to choose your samples and I didn’t see what was being put into the bags. It looked like she was adding one of everything, so I was expecting a really good mix.

Now, anyone who knows me knows I have the self-control of a raccoon on meth when it comes to beauty surprises, so there was absolutely no chance I was waiting until I got home to open everything 😂 I ripped open the GWP bags, samples and mystery bag as soon as I got in the car. And that's when the disappointment hit.

My sample selection only included two out of the four perfumes I wanted to try (I wanted all of them), and I got the teeny tiny Charlotte Tilbury mascara sample that I’m genuinely going to struggle to use because it’s so small.

Then came the mystery bag, which I had been SO excited about, and honestly, I think I might actually complain to Harrods because what a letdown. Three red lipsticks. THREE. Anyone who remembers my thoughts on the Harrods advent calendar last year will know I won’t appreciate one red lipstick, never mind three 😂

There was also a red blusher with a sale sticker on it, a silver glitter blusher, a tiny Paula’s Choice toner and something from The Ordinary.

For £50, I honestly expected so much more. It just felt like such a random selection and not at all what I was hoping for. So I'm upset / fuming about it.

The saving grace was definitely the coffee and lovely cocktails at the H Beauty cocktail bar, which were gorgeous. I’m really glad I went, but I’ve definitely come away with mixed feelings. The event itself was nice, but it felt quite quiet and I think my expectations were probably higher.

At least the Goldfield & Banks set was a definite win 😍 and I've been lusting after the Dior palette for a while. Oh I did also get to make a really cute bag charm thing. I did it seashells so it'll defo come on holiday with me.

I hope you aren't disappointed. I think it's really good set, at least 3 of them are new 2026 releases which is unusual for an edit.

I second this, I think it's a really good set too 😍 I smelt the rude oud elixir compared with the rude oud today and I'm not sure that there's enough difference to keep both. The rude oud og is definitely more intense. I'm a bit worried about selling something that's so costly, knowing my luck, I'd get scammed 🙈🤣

I am finding as I get older that cream eyeshadows are more flattering for me than powder ones (looking ruefully at my collection of palettes 😢)
I like the Bobbi Brown ones and there a nice GWP online

Unfortunately I agree. The recent RMS four pans are pretty flattering though, they're sort of a cream to powder. Recent Tom Ford palettes in the white cases too - they're similar formula to RMS, just pricier.

That sounds like an awful mystery bag @JoRaRaRa , it sounds like they threw in a lot of bits they had left over from Christmas and who needs three red lipsticks? The event itself sounds quite nice though, what were the perfume samples you got?

Lisa Eldridge does the best ones in my opinion. I like the lurex ones but there's matte ones too.
