I was in Edinburgh yesterday and there was still a huge queue to get into Sephora at 4.30pm! DJ and people shrieking into a PA system. Baffled...
Chatting to an assistant in H Beauty she said that the good thing about Sephora is that it will be popular with younger people and so they'll get fewer tweens and teens in trying everything out, making a mess and buying nothing. And we shook our heads at the 13 year olds wondering if they need a retinol serum...
Didn't buy anything as it was too hot and felt too much effort although I did have a look at the Lisa Eldridge Velatura balms as I love the Rose Madder one. The other colours weren't doing it for me though and the one I did like would have been a duplicate of something similar I already have.
However, I have fallen deeply in love with a new perfume - Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. Dropped a hint to my husband as wedding anniversary next week and saw him not-very-discreetly looking it up on his phone later. And saw him visibly quail at the price. Not expecting to unwrap on the 14th!
