Im 65 and wearing that dress at tge moment 😁

Purplecatshopaholic · 27/06/2026 14:19

Jeez, why wouldn’t it be? It’s not my taste, but if you like it and it fits then regardless, wear it! I’m genuinely intrigued as to why you would ask? That particular dress is not risky in any way, it’s err, understated and my mum had one like that in her seventies.

This is the dress (hopefully photo will be approved soon)

I've got a two piece like this and I'm mid 60's!!!

Am I the only one who can't see it?

Anyway I would say just wear what you like! As long as you feel comfortable and good in it, and it's not a skirt just below your knickers.

When I was in my 20s I had had my son, so I looked lumpy and awful in most clothing. So I didn't really bother. However, when I hit about 33, I started working out, spinning, running on the treadmill. I took a massive interest in fashion and I wore short skirts all the time, and they suited me a hundred times more than they would have in my 20s. I became really experimental and got so many compliments. It sadly changed when I hit 40 and put on about two stone with absolutely no warning. Same diet and same workouts.

It all depends where you personally are, and how you look and feel. Not on your age.

No, I cant see it either

Violinist64 · 27/06/2026 15:15

It’s lovely and has a timeless quality about it.

Heavybottom · 27/06/2026 15:32

I like it.
Having said that, I think if you are so unsure that you make a thread asking about it, then it's not for you because you won't feel comfortable in it

I'm also mid 50s and wear whatever I like. I went out last night in a silk playsuit and , horror of horrors, high heels 👠

I bloody love a playsuit/jumpsuit. I have given up on heels. If I’m honest they make me feel older as no one under 30 wears them so much 🤷🏻‍♀️but that’s just me. They also kill my feet and they never used to 😂

TammyOne · 27/06/2026 16:16

Age is nothing to do with it but I don’t like the dress at all.
It’s giving me cult member vibes. Or Amish, something that might involve churning your own butter anyway. Maybe it’s the sleeves.
I’m nearly 50 and Im wearing denim shorts and a vest today so possibly not the person to advise on age appropriate- ness 😁

TammyOne · 27/06/2026 16:18

I have been getting my heels out too lately IHateBoris Heels are feeling zeitgeisty all of a sudden.

Lumpen?

I think she means working class 😅

Divebar2021 · 27/06/2026 17:40

I can’t see it… the link isn’t working for me

HRHCurmudgeon · 27/06/2026 17:41

I don’t like it around the boobs and think it’s a bit old fashioned but it’s a very ordinary dress for any age.

catslovehairties · 27/06/2026 17:43

I think it’s hideous 🫣

Underthesunnyside · 27/06/2026 18:20

I'm in my mid-50s and would look terrible in that dress, puffed sleeves and that gathered bust line have always looked dreadful on me at any age. If it suits you in your 50s you should definitely wear it, don't worry about whether it's right for your age

Hottiiieee · 27/06/2026 19:06

What does lumpen mean ?

abitbloodybrighteroverthere · 27/06/2026 19:13

@Onmytod24 - no, that clearly wasn’t what I meant.

barcodenotfound · 27/06/2026 13:21

It's nice and I'm not saying that from a 'if you like it, wear it' point of view, because if you felt like that you wouldn't be asking. You clearly want something that other people also think looks nice and age appropriate, which it is.

Gwenhwyfar · 27/06/2026 19:35

Onmytod24 · 27/06/2026 16:57

I think she means working class 😅

I can only think of 'lumpen proletariat', but maybe she means lumpy i.e. having lumps.

TheSmellOfSea · 27/06/2026 20:40

It's lovely. I'm 58 and would wear it if I was petite. I'm tall and hourglass/athletic though.

winnieanddaisy · 27/06/2026 20:54

I love that dress . I’d wear it and I’m 73 .
So maybe that might put you off it 😂

DidntLikeTheEnding · 27/06/2026 21:48

That is hideous, it looks like a bedsheet!

Cushionseams · 27/06/2026 22:10

I'm 59, I wouldn't wear that for fear of looking like an old lady.

HedgeRowsCircle · 27/06/2026 22:25

is it just me or does this look like a plug for a brand?

cinquanta · 27/06/2026 22:50

Maybe, but I wouldn’t wear it. Nothing to do with my age.

The link appears to be dead now anyway.

Lovemycat2023 · 27/06/2026 22:53

I have a personal aversion to puff sleeves, but otherwise I like it - nice clean fresh look
