Stick on nipples? I must be getting old!

these just popped up on my M&S suggestions to buy: https://www.marksandspencer.com/silicone-stick-on-nipples/p/clp61230306
I must be getting old and out of touch because in my day we wore padded bras to hide our nipples through clothing!
and if I wanted to show some nipple these days (which I don’t) I could just wear a thin bra rather than stick these things on?!

That is weird!

Maybe they are for people who have had grisly nipple accidents and no longer have nipples?

Or (sadly more likely) they are considered the perfect nipple shape/size, and are for women who want to cover up their perfectly ordinary unfashionable nipples.

Jellycatrabbit · 22/06/2026 14:25

These came up on mine too and I was mystified. Pleased I'm not the only one. Mine do their own job well enough these days without any assistance.

DeeNiall · 22/06/2026 14:31

Maybe polythelia is a trend.

PeopleOut · 22/06/2026 14:31

That's a blast from the past.

I had some of these around 2004.

To be worn on top of padded bras so it looked like you had big(ish) perfectly rounded tits without a bra on.

I wore them on every single night out. I wore them out and had to replace them three times 😳

familyicons · 22/06/2026 14:32

lol
for the men too? Oh

Smartiepants79 · 22/06/2026 14:34

I have a feeling they might be more to do with certain people who like to wear fake boobs…. Fairly sure I saw them being applauded on instagram by some pride organisation or other.

Who here hasn't had a Tit v Mangle incident? Might keep a set in stock for the next time.

Why don't they just make the fake boobs with nipples already included though?

TerriersTerriersTerriers · 22/06/2026 14:38

They are popular in the 90s, I think thanks to Rachel in Friends.

AmITotallyBonkers · 22/06/2026 14:40

I think they’re for those who’ve had a mastectomy ?

ForTidyGreenMember · 22/06/2026 14:58

I have had a double mastectomy and have no nipplels. Maybe they are aimed at people like me.

Could be, but last time they were popular it was because it was the fashion to have nipples visible through your clothes.

Iriseee · 22/06/2026 15:05

I saw these earlier and was very confused !
I spent a good three minutes trying to puzzle it out.

Ginmonkeyagain · 22/06/2026 15:05

Yeah I assumed they were for women who have had mastectomies and haven't retained their nipples.

That can be the only explanation surely?

As I say, back in the late 90s it was a fashion to g and people were buying them so they can could have visible nipple showing through their shirts.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 22/06/2026 15:09

Well my nipples have packed up and flown south on their retirement so maybe I'll grab a pair to make it seem like they're having a staycation

Yeah I assumed they were for women who have had mastectomies and haven't retained their nipples.

I appreciate that many women would choose implants/fake breasts post mastectomy, but I can't for the life of me understand why you'd want nipples deliberately poking through your t shirts? Men stare if they are showing and I really don't want to be objectified like that.

NegativeFreak · 22/06/2026 16:21

I saw these too. They were being advertised next to some other silicon insert thingies that i couldn't fathom where you would wear them on your body and for what purpose.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 22/06/2026 16:27

Many of my mastectomy patients wore them with their reconstructed breasts.

So weird, I (thankfully) completely missed this the first time around. I too was very confused.

PeopleOut · 22/06/2026 16:37

😵😵😵
My friend and I actually invented these on a night out back in the mid-00s after she lost a stick-on nipple down the toilet.
We had a long conversation about what a good idea it'd be to have the nipples built into the bra itself.
DAMMIT.

OriginalSkang · 22/06/2026 16:40

Is it just me, or are those nipples really tiny? Is that nipple perfection these days?

mcmuffin22 · 22/06/2026 16:48

AmITotallyBonkers · 22/06/2026 14:40

This was the conclusion I came to as well.
