This coincides with the Toy Story event so I may have a chance of going 😅 Thank you!

Yes I tried out all 3 laneige creams in Boots the other day - white is a gel, blue is cream and darker blue is intensive which was very thick. I only liked the consistency of the standard blue cream one.

By the way the water sleeping mask, which is also blue but quite different, is a reasonable dupe for Elemis plumping pillow facial, which used to be my HG night cream before they discontinued it. I still have a tiny bit left which I save for the night before a special occasion.

I also have the laneige water bank eye cream which is nice and light - does nothing except hydrate, which is sometimes what you want!

OvaHere · 09/06/2026 19:48

Well, I caved and bought the Liberty edit. I don't need it but I used my loyalty voucher I've been saving so it wasn't too expensive.

Well it’s almost been a whole day and I have resisted the liberty edit. I’m just not feeling this one which really surprises me because it may be the first edit that I’ve not purchased for as long as I can remember.
I would like to say I’m cured however today I have become a SNK deluxe member and a sephora gold member so maybe I’ve spent enough for today. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. 😬

pinkchampagne1 · 09/06/2026 20:40

I have managed to resist the recent Liberty edits, although bought some of the bits I fancied from the founders edit on Vinted. I want to see what the advent calendar has to offer before spending my credit. Was the Liberty calendar revealed in July last year?

I’ve only ever tried the mid-blue version which is Water Bank cream moisturiser, I really enjoyed using it in my morning routine - sinked in nicely, hydrating and worked well with various SPFs, definitely on my radar to buy a full size once I manage to get through the ridiculous stash of moisturisers I’ve got… 🙈

Why is everyone opting for Vinted over eBay? I’ve been a long time eBay user and never really got into Vinted. They seem to have a similar pricing structure now, so what’s the advantage of Vinted?

I’ve recently had a warning from
vinted about commercial selling , with a suggestion/ request to open a pro account, but you can’t sell cosmetic products under a pro account apparently !
so I’ve deleted most of my items and moving to eBay in the main. I’ve been selling on eBay as well for the couple of months and finding that certain products sell well and probably for a bit more than Vinted, but Vinted definitely seems easier for lots of smaller / cheaper items .
I’d be more tempted to buy from Vinted as well

Thelifeofawife · 09/06/2026 21:39

@wohmum Do you sell a lot on Vinted? I feel like I sell a lot but I’ve not had this from them. Maybe I don’t sell as much as I think I do.

I’ve been inspired to add some of my stuff to eBay. I do list on there from time to time, but I tend to find there’s more traffic on Vinted

I had that warning too and continued to sell and nothing happened, was a few months ago. I suppose they could close my account at any time but I thought I'd keep going. I also sell on ebay as my main platform. Vinted does my head in with all the cheeky lowballers so not the end of the world if I'm barred.

Hicupping · 09/06/2026 22:30

I put a no offers please on one of my items. I'm working and it's just time consuming. Had someone asking for £6 instead of £12. I don't think I'm being unreasonable there. Yes ebay is more work but you can turn off offers.
I'm also not in a rush.

LightandBreezy · 09/06/2026 22:42

I'm selling on eBay not vinted, mainly because I think eBay are more thorough if anything goes wrong, so as a seller of genuine items I think I should be better off there. Haven't had to test that theory thankfully as I've never had any complaints. Also I don't bother selling small things / samples etc worth under a tenner, There seems to be a better market for those on vinted and with the bundles thing it makes more sense. I just am never selling that much, so doing an individual trip for something I'd only sold for £3 doesn't seem worth it given the almighty queues at my PO, plus I would very quickly tire of the low-balling offers thing on vinted, it's the sort off thing that irritates me. Recently I've been scouring both, and the prices don't seem to be very different anymore, some stuff has been listed for less on eBay, whereas vinted used to be the place for lucky bargains. Lots of fakes on both sites unfortunately.

Thelifeofawife · 09/06/2026 22:45

I’m with you, I am happy to accept reasonable offers, but when they are 50% or more I think it’s a bit cheeky.
I’ve done a couple of sizeable discounts when people do a big bundle, because I figure I’d rather clear some of the bulk than hold out for a few quid extra here and there, but for individual items I’d rather wait

LightandBreezy · 09/06/2026 22:46

Also, as @hiccuping says, I'm in no real rush, my sales are just for the few things from an edit I wouldn't use or don't fancy trying, and any sales are just a bonus. Buying to split and resell seems like work I don't want.

Fillybuster · 09/06/2026 23:10

Thank you @Beautyfox - I might be able to get to that with dd18 after her A levels.

@IlovePond hope your hand heals up ok. If you have any of the RP cicaplast baume at home, that might be good to use until the burn cream arrives?

Vinted vs eBay is an interesting one.

Ive sold occasional bits and bobs on eBay for 15+ years, with over 300 positive reviews, but didn’t get a single view, let alone bid, on anything when I listed a handful of beauty products from my stash! So inspired by you lot, I set up a Vinted account and that’s been working really well for the odd beauty bits I decided to sell. I listed the exact same items as on eBay, same price but without years of user history, and everything sold. Just don’t get it!

wohmum · 09/06/2026 23:49

I’ve sold about 400 items in the last 6 months , but I follow some people who are definitely selling more than that . It’s hard to know what triggered it , but I downloaded my Vinted data and I there was a ‘reported for commercial selling’ notification , so maybe someone had reported me . There are so many stories of scams and bad experiences on Vinted, and the poor customer service, although I’ve had nothing but positive experiences so far .

That’s good to know .. I’m thinking I’ll have a bit of a break and then sell some of the smaller stuff slowly, but build up
more on eBay. Agree about the low-ball offers on Vinted - quibbling over 50p is just pointless!

TragicMuse · 09/06/2026 23:56

So my Laneige is the pale blue cream moisturiser - not the intense.

I’ll try it again tomorrow but it’s not fast absorption for me so far.

BookShark · 10/06/2026 00:24

I tried selling things on ebay but got banned because they linked my account to a suspected professional trader, and the only way to prove I wasn't was to get the other account to confirm if - which of course, they didn't even reply to. I wouldn't mind (well, obviously I would!), but I'd only listed 5 things!

I've had some success selling on Facebook in specific groups for reselling beauty products, but obviously there's no buyer protection, so probably not ideal for high value items.

user593 · 10/06/2026 07:28

Fenwicks have launched a new sale, there’s a decent amount in the Beauty section but I think a lot is recycled from previous sales.

One thing I have done is listed some old clothes and things to make my account look less like I'm selling commercially, don't know if that makes any difference to the bots.

New liberty holiday kit out for delivery today, woo hoo.

Also went to selfridges last night to get fragrance kit, plus they still had plenty of volume 1 so picked up one of those.

Volume 2 not as good and marketed as masculine but I'd say its unisex.

Getting sick of all the manly father's day kits now. Could do with some feminine edits too.
