Why is everyone opting for Vinted over eBay? I’ve been a long time eBay user and never really got into Vinted. They seem to have a similar pricing structure now, so what’s the advantage of Vinted?

I had to chuck mine. Kept bringing me out in painful cystic spots, that not even Medik8 blemish gel could kill.

This morning I’ve tried a Laneige moisturiser. Small blue pot. It’s also quite thick and my face felt greasy. And it’s pilled on my neck though my face seems to have escaped so far.

I like lighter textures.

And re the Mucin, I had a small bottle - maybe from the StyleKorean pharmacy kit? - it squicks me out but I have persevered. No idea what it does or whether it’s effective at all but no allergy at least. I wouldn’t buy it again, I’m not great with slimy at the best of times!

I’ve never used EBay but I always think it looks really complicated.

Vinted seems very simple to use and so far (touch wood and other redundant actions) I have been lucky.

I only buy, never sold anything on any platform. My daughter has everything I don’t want (and a few I do)😊

I had the same issue with the laneige blue moisturiser. Someone on The empties chat suggested it shouldn’t be like this and more like tatcha. They thought it may have gone off. I’m not in a rush to try it again but if one comes my way I will open it straight away to see if it is the same.

Is that the laneige water bank? That's on my wish list. I have the water sleeping mask and I really like it, I'm only not using it every night because it has tranexamic acid in and I'm already using that in a serum. I was planning to switch to the water bank, tried it in boots the other day and thought it seemed nice. I've seen a few people talk positively about it on here.

The comparison to Tatcha is interesting because I love this - use the indigo cream most nights and sometimes the dewy cream in the day - but I find them both very heavy and they don't sink into my skin

Yes that’s the same be. Mine was a small sample pot and I have no idea how long I’d actually had it for but I wonder if somehow the smaller pots are not air tight enough. 🤔

user593 · 09/06/2026 14:13

I’ve not had any pilling issues with the Laniege Water Bank Cream. I don’t put a huge amount on though as it’s quite thick, and I really work it in. I’ve been using it day and night for a couple of days.

LightandBreezy · 09/06/2026 15:37

@Beautyfox It was me that said that on the empties thread - I've had a big pot of the Laniege and it's got a gel texture, feels quite moisturising but not creamy and definitely not dense iyswim. So the description some people have given doesn't tally with what the big pot was like for me. I'd also had a mini pot of the tatcha dewy cream that I took on holiday and the texture was definitely wrong - it was very heavy, firm/dense almost vaseline-like and left a film of oil on my skin. Not like I've experienced normally. It made me wonder if certain types of very hydrating formulas change texture when they're a bit old/ dried out. I wasn't actually comparing the 2 moisturisers beyond that @namechange0998776554799000 although I do really like both. Have just started a pot of Dewy Cream though and it does feel too rich for summer maybe.

TragicMuse · 09/06/2026 15:38

I’ll give it another go, but it might end up repurposed for elbows!

I was definitely expecting a lighter texture with the name ‘water bank’.

IlovePond · 09/06/2026 16:17

@user593 - I have bought a couple of things on Vinted, but I won’t sell on there due to their awful CS service.

My DSis got ripped off a couple of times by buyers on Vinted - I know this happens on eBay too, but at least there you can speak to an actual person - even if they don’t decide in your favour!

Also, the one time I did list something on Vinted, it wouldn’t let me specify only RM postage. I will NOT send via InPost or EVRI, (again, DSis has had terrible experience with both), so I deleted the listing and sold on eBay instead.

IlovePond · 09/06/2026 16:32

Hi, I need to buy something expensive from Boots - the MEAGANSC15 seems to have stopped working. Does anyone know any working codes?

Thanks

IlovePond · 09/06/2026 16:34

On a related note: I burnt my hand last week and it looks like I will have a really bad scar if I don’t try to treat it.

Can anyone recommend anything that actually works to reduce scarring? I have heard good things about Kelo-Cote but it’s an expensive product to buy if it doesn’t work!

Thanks

user593 · 09/06/2026 17:11

@IlovePond I don’t have personal experience but my DC had major surgery at six months old and people at the hospital recommended Kelo-Cote. It was key hole and the incisions were so tiny in the end that I didn’t end up using it, but if I were in that situation again I’d buy Kelo-Cote.

IlovePond · 09/06/2026 17:25

Thanks @user593 - I have just ordered some from Superdrug- more than £10 cheaper than at Boots or Amazon!

I don’t know why I never think to buy stuff from Superdrug. In future, I should make more effort to price compare, rather than just trotting off to Boots every time I need something!

I will report back if the Kelo-Cote works!

SummerLimes · 09/06/2026 17:39

@IlovePond i was recommended kelp cot by a plastic surgeon when my daughter had a nasty cut. It looked awful, it’s improved a lot. It flares in sun light so I always ensure she has sof 50

SummerLimes · 09/06/2026 17:41

Ah @user593 maybe the same person 😊hope your DC is well now .

I’ve got some great k-beauty deals at Superdrug lately!

Thank you ❤ It was a scary time but he’s 2 now and doing really well 😊

The Rhode Summer collection just launched. I’m extremely tempted by all of it, whilst needing absolutely none of it.

user593 · 09/06/2026 18:04

Looks like the Highlight Milk has already sold out in the shade I wanted so maybe I’m saved.

OvaHere · 09/06/2026 18:30

Catching up on the thread. I saw the Liberty email come through earlier but was too busy to pay much attention. I could be tempted by the edit, I love the Maria Nila finishing spray and the Emma Lewisham cream is appealing.

Still think know I have too much stuff though and I'm reluctant to spend my vouchers until I see what's in the advent this year.

I ended up selling on the WA drops as I'd prefer the lighter shade so getting a repeat puts me off a bit. First Liberty kit in a while I am properly tempted to go for though.

Thanks @SummerLimes - good to know it worked for your DD and @user593 - glad your little one is doing well x

JPMJuliz · 09/06/2026 18:46

Weighing on the Laneige Water Bank creams debate - aren’t there like three different version of the cream? I remember different hues of blue pots when the line launched, something like - gel, cream and super moisture (or something like that).
I had a small pot of cream moisturiser from a little sample box they do, and I definitely was quite light consistency.

This could explain lots. I was using LANEIGE
WATER BANK BLUE HYALURONIc intense moisturiser (sorry for the mixed case I’ve just copied it from the photo).
