Délices des Bois Veronique Gabai for me today. My only regret is, that my mini is only 5ml, its very pretty.

MiaN · 24/07/2026 06:39

I didn't think much of it on the winter, I have forgotten about it. Now I want full bottle! Cant stp sniffing my wrist bit let's see how the drydown goes

RoseTeaLady · 24/07/2026 08:49

@MiaN I agree. It’s beautiful!

MotherWol · 24/07/2026 14:35

My 'no full bottles' resolution is being tested by the new Lush release, Moominvalley: https://www.lush.com/uk/en/p/moominvalley-perfume - they're describing it as a clean laundry scent, so I'm going to try and find it in store and see how it wears.

CorneliaStreet · 24/07/2026 15:53

@MotherWol I’ve seen this review of the Lush perfume on Reddit:

The perfume when i first sprayed it reminded me so much of these refresher ice lollies. Very popular in the early 00 in UK. It smelled exactly like them, so much so it made me remember them as I’d not thought about them in years (discontinued) - sprayed it on moisturised inner arm and once dried down I was left with a very clean, lavender, soapy smell and not over powering at all. I’m smelling my arm now and it’s just a really subtle ‘clean skin’ scent. 8/10

How is the Fabbrica Della Musa Pearl of Dawn? I got the Opera Infernal and it's very intense for me. It doesn't list oud boot I get some and it took muliple washes to get rid of it.

The bibbi deep lotus is also oudy to my nose, also not listed note and very intense.

I love it - to me its a less punchy version of angels share dries down much more subtle but the cinnamon is lovely - will def be one I reach for in autumn

MotherWol · 24/07/2026 22:21

@CorneliaStreet I dropped into the Covent Garden Lush on my way home and they confirmed that it’s online/Oxford Street only, so it’s going to wait until I can get into the West End!

MiaN · 25/07/2026 05:18

Spiky Muse for me today. Tart rose on the drydown. I like it, I didn't expect to get that much rose out of it - I just very rarely feel like wearing one. I will add it to my Delina Rosee 30ml and Dyptique La Rose travel.

Fleecy · 25/07/2026 10:56

Swimming pool here. It's a lovely sunny day. I find this more like a herb garden. Basil and mint. But I do like it.

MiaN · 25/07/2026 13:47

few words per perfume sniff report

Atelier Versace Vanille Rouge Edp she is intense! Baccarat rouge vibe
Coeur Fetish Amber Yves Saint Laurent - take me to church. Old dusty stinky church.
Dior Paradise - ok I guess, very forgettable.
SDJ Laite Nectar and Laite Cafe - I will take you to the candy shop
Replica Chasing Sunsets - keep chasing, this isn't the one
Dirty Rice mmm, not at that price
Born to stand out range in general, first sniff in store. You will stand out all right!
Pacco Rabanne Fame - I have zara dupe I spray in the bathroom before I have bath and it's nearly over. I will miss it when it's gone - Memorable Aura.
Prada olfactory range - would love sample or travel set.
Louis Vuitton - Afternoon swim 😍. Sun song 😍.

Louis Vuitton Symphonia - instant regret. This is stunning, and if it was up to 300 euro I would have treated myself but 510 is insane. I don't usually go for dupes, but would be interested as I love it.

all sniffed from the bottles, apart from 2 - Symphonia and one of the prada's which I also sprayed on paper tester.

I also tried Patalia to see if it changes my mind about Harrods advent, but no - I am good.

SOTD is the Molecule cologne from the Liberty kit. I really thought this was headed into DH's stash but I love it. On me its like a more subtle Debaser, green and fresh

IDontHateRainbows · 25/07/2026 16:31

Managed to get some sniffing in today as perfume allergic friend and I did separate things. I went perfume shopping.

Zara blackberry oud wowed me, reminds me of guerlain tabac Sahara. Smoky, fruity, leathery.

Also tried jhag pear inc, musc invisible and sunny side up. Got a small sunny side up with £5 off HN points. Plus a free flat white in the posh HN bar/ café.

Was also tempted by MFK homme a la rose. Perfect light, fresh rose. May buy it one day.

I tend not to buy much perfume out as the online deals are always better. Still need to get familiar with my liberty summer scents kit... have only been home one evening since it arrived so haven't had time to play with it yet, except Double scoop.

I end up wearing citric from the kit today. I have so many citrus perfumes, but for some reason I don't have good lemon forward one so this is great to get and it lasts great. However it is full on citric, it's not for those how do not appreciate that profile.

The only time ive ever liked citrus was when my sense of smell went funny when I had covid.

I tell a lie. Fragrance du bois is citrus forward but has the most delicious, powdery dry down. Broke the citrus mould for me.

Sorry meant to say Fragrance du Bois Lucius. Fragrance du Bois is the house!

Also trying out the liberty kit today :)

Citric - loved, felt like a slightly fresher 1711 and I've wanted a good neroli/bergamot cologne for ages.

Vyrao Ludeaux - musky peach (great) with a latex note that I was less into. I sprayed it into my armpits (don't judge) and that seemed to heat it up enough to focus on the musk.

Fugazzi Purple - loved the violet top notes but really am done with ambroxan dry-downs at this point. That said, cannot be arsed to try and sell it so will probably keep for work days when I want to smell 'nice'.

I also got Adelphi Sun, Molecule Cologne, and the one which isn't Opera, so excited to try those in the coming week.

MotherWol · 25/07/2026 21:46

@IDontHateRainbows what did you make of Double Scoop? I quite liked it as a green vanilla, the rosemary reminds me of a less spicy Eau Duelle. Interested to hear your verdict!

I didn't get green vanilla at all... quite caramelly gourmand, a bit sickly on first spray but dried down ok. Interesting but not a love.

Armpit spraying, never heard of that before but will try as an add on to my deodorant. Maybe not straight after shaving...

I decided that Purple won't make it to my collection, it is in my to gift/swap box. While I rather enjoy the violet candy opening, the dry down is very dry unpleasant to my nose molecule type of scent. I did enjoy trying it however and I did get compliments wearing it the first 30 minutes - so I guess it depends how molecules work with your skin.

I tested Replica Beach Walk this morning - partly to try to see why I don't like it vs I do really enjoy Liberty Adelphi Sun. Adelphi Sun has a lot more to it, and feels refined vs Beach Walk to my nose is just cloying sun tan oil. While they are both summary, slightly sun tan lotion vibe - they are very different. Adelphi Sun is my scent of the day

MiaN · 26/07/2026 09:14

I needed to buy some basics from Cult beauty (braw gel, liner etc) and I caved with few purchases. I have been wanting to try Frangipani Flower by Jo Malone for ages and it's just not available in Ireland, I ordered 30ml. I am hopeful based on the reviews. Oribe Cote d Azur 10ml - I adore this but it lasts 2 minutes. I finished one 10ml, this is second. And Nest - 10ml Indigo perfume, and 8ml Coconut oil.

I guess I am back in buy buy buy mode! But I did very well first 6 months of the year, I bought very little, nearly nothing you can say

potplantsinparadise · 26/07/2026 10:30

Ha, I'm sure there's a nicer way of saying 'armpit spraying' but it's a good way to really get a blast of scent through the day.

This morning: MP 'Metal Lavender' - LOVE. Saw some reviews saying the lavender was too photorealistic but I think that's why I like it, and it actually tempers the ambroxan dry down. Really gorgeous and unusual.

And: Vilhelm 'Mango Skin' - more love, more fruity than I usually go for but it's really soft and musky, like a fancier version of Impulse sprays or something from the Body Shop (no shade on either of those btw).

IDontHateRainbows · 26/07/2026 10:36

Decided I'm not a fan of double scoop, too sharp. If anyone wants to swap for something from the scent kit, I have an unopened one as I got a few kits.
Enjoying the jhag sunny side up although it feels bit formulaic with the Sandalwood + ambroxan. Reminds me of another 13 a little.

I love the cologne from the kit. I'll be trawling Vinted for more.

SOTD is Nishane, just a tiny squirt. I had given it to DH but I fancied it today. I do love it, even though it could strip paint at ten paces 😄
