Sotd Sunset Hour. Lovely but not long lasting.

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 27/06/2026 12:24

Sotd Lannosea and Mary G lemon. I really like this combo.

TragicMuse · 27/06/2026 12:29

This thread has really encouraged me to try things I have which were unopened!

I now know I’m not a fan of sweet ‘round’ florals. By ‘round’ I mean smells that lack a spike or edge, don’t have a sharp note.

I am a chypre girl through and through. Oakmoss is my true love!

But I love the adventure and discovery…

MrsBnow12 · 27/06/2026 12:42

I am sticking with Harrods, and Valaya for me today

What are everyone's hot weather faves? I'll go first... enjoying freshies such as the aforementioned from the garden, coriander by DS&DURGA, swimming pool and vyrao sun Rae. Also Alto Astral. And Radio Bombay.

No time for oud/ gourmand/ nut scents in this weather. Also gone off rose a bit.

Edited

As per PP, mainly citrus in the heat. Aqua Di Parma Arancia Di Capri and Bergamotto di Calabria. TF Neroli Portofino. EA Green Tea (original one). Penhaligon's Luna

The other day I tried Malin & Goetz Strawberry as I remembered you all saying it was more light and green than sweet and fruity. You were right, but it was so light that I could hardly smell it.

My hot weather scents are Hermes Un Jardin sur le Nil and Tocca Lucia. I’ve got Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt on today though.

This has reminded me that I need to get my Tocca set out. I remember several of them, especially Liliana, being good in hot weather last year.

I've also been wearing Ange ou Demon Le Secret, light and summery.

RoseTeaLady · 27/06/2026 16:37

I have spent all afternoon volunteering at our village fete and I am sporting ‘Eau de Sweat.’ Looking forward to a cool shower and a few sprays of Vyrao Free 00!

RoseTeaLady · 27/06/2026 16:39

@IDontHateRainbows Thanks. I think this might be nice on me. I’m not a big Fugazzi fan, apart from Vanilla Haze.

Weirdly, I find strawberry lasts ages when sprayed on clothes. I sometimes spritz something for the next day and can still smell it in the morning.

Doglover73 · 27/06/2026 17:07

Sotd. Jo Malone Lime, basil and mandarin.
I have a malin and goetz strawberry i need to try. Sold one on but kept 1.

SOTE: Adolfo Dominguez Neroli Ecstasy

practicalmagictime · 27/06/2026 22:02

Bobbi brown beach

I tried Ouai dean street again as I blind bought it ages ago. There’s a note in it I really don’t like and I can’t figure what it is

IDontHateRainbows · 28/06/2026 00:16

Byredo alto astral again. Its so unusual..

OP posts:
Lurkingshark · 28/06/2026 07:53

I have tried two Ouai ones and there is a synthetic note in both of them. I thought it was me associating them with hair products.

SOTweekend. Bon Parfumer 301 - it is a spicy sandalwood and similar to Tam Dao someone recommended earlier. Part of my supreme sandalwood hunt. I really love it- Reddit said it was like Tom Ford Santal blush which I tried in JL but that had a caraway/ fenugreek smell which Ive always disliked. This hasn’t got that just warm spices and sandalwood. And very reasonably priced.

IDontHateRainbows · 28/06/2026 10:45

Delina. I like this but it's never quite made it into my top favourites. Prefer Oriana although that's a bit heavy for summer.
Using up the rest of the 5ml bottle and enjoying it.

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 28/06/2026 12:07

Valaya! Still really enjoying it.

JoRaRaRa · 28/06/2026 14:24

I've moved onto the fragrances that I kept from the spacenk fragrance calendar and gone for the Acqua Di Parma Fico Di Amalfi. I sprayed it earlier though and it's already disappeared 😞 I think I'll have to find another. Maybe JHAG Miami shake 🤔

IDontHateRainbows · 28/06/2026 18:44

Miller Harris Staccato which is very smoky almost acrid... but against all odds I do like it.

Reminds me a bit of guerlain tabac Sahara which I smelled in john lewis today. Seriously considering getting a 5ml of it, it has the same smoky tobacco notes but with raspberry.

Damnit, I got busy and dropped off the thread! Lovely catching up on what everyone's enjoying in the hot weather; I'm really leaning into citrus and tea scents in the heat, and have made a list of what's next to try if I can get into Liberty at some point: Dear Polly, Wulong Cha, Le Labo Thé Noir, Thé Yulong, and Earl Grey and Cucumber.

Enjoyed revisiting a couple of 90s classics - CK One and L'eau D'Issey - over the weekend, and they both felt perfect for hot, humid days.

I opened my DS&D Debaser. Lovely and spiky! Not mad keen that it’s an oil but the smell is so good!

practicalmagictime · 29/06/2026 13:51

Gypsy water SOTD

Doglover73 · 29/06/2026 16:59

Sotd yesterday and today
Diorama
Blooming lovely and so long lasting.

Doglover73 · 29/06/2026 17:00

@TragicMuse I need to dig mine out and try it. X

Lurkingshark · 29/06/2026 17:40

I’m tempted to pop into bloom but tbh I’m a bit intimidated! Thanks for the flag though- they look super!

CorneliaStreet · 29/06/2026 17:43

Miller Harris Secret Gardenia for me today. One of my all time favourites.
