It looks like a tablecloth, it's OK if you're 16 and on holiday at the beach

MajorLanceYouDontWantMeNoMoreNsoul · 12/05/2026 19:20

Reminds me of a picnic tablecloth for some reason ..sorry

ConverselyAttired · 12/05/2026 19:22

Depends how you wear it. Plain white t shirt and white trainers is a bit matchy but I don't know what else it would work with!

MrsFionaCharming · 12/05/2026 19:26

I love it. I recently got a midi length one in the kids section of primary.

7in1Pond · 12/05/2026 19:28

I like it, very summery.

KojaksLollipop · 12/05/2026 19:29

Well I like it.

SoScarletItWas · 12/05/2026 19:30

Only if you plait your hair and wear it with a gypsy top, then I think it will look fancy dress milkmaid.

But no, it’s a perfectly acceptable summer skirt.

fudgesmummy · 12/05/2026 19:30

My mum made me a skirt exactly the same as that when I was about II
(in 1977!)
It had Broderie Anglaise along the hem and was the height of fashion!!
I thought I was the bees knees! 😁

Girlintheframe · 12/05/2026 19:30

I love it! Will be fab in summer with a plain white T

Overtheatlantic · 12/05/2026 19:31

I’m partial to gingham. Why don’t you try it on and see how you feel?

CoCoJones26 · 12/05/2026 19:32

Great find! Perfect with white t shirt or vest top.

MrsMoastyToasty · 12/05/2026 19:32

The gingham check reminds me of my school's summer uniform. Like a pp the style of the skirt reminds me of the late 70s "gypsy skirts".

henlake7 · 12/05/2026 19:32

It is giving a hint of tablecloth but that wouldnt bother me. I love it!

EveryKneeShallBow · 12/05/2026 19:33

I made one like that in high school sewing lessons about 50 years ago.

musselsandwelks · 12/05/2026 21:01

This is exactly the type of thing I wear all tge time and im 69. With a solid red or navy jeans style jacket and a white t shirt. I absolutely would have bought this.

Legolaslady · 12/05/2026 21:23

I think if you mix it up a bit... Different textures.
Don't go white shirt white trainers
Denim might look good

Linenspots · 12/05/2026 21:25

Pftt! to the naysayers. I think it's lovely!

dontmalbeconme · 12/05/2026 21:27

Well, I really like it. But I'm 50 something, and not remotely fashionable, so make of that what you will!

MillicentMaybe · 12/05/2026 21:31

I’d wear it, and love it. And I’m as old as the hills.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 12/05/2026 21:34

Ok I’ll wear it. Not yet it’s not warm enough. Well sort of is!

ButterYellowFlowers · 12/05/2026 21:54

I like it, gingham is very trendy atm.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 12/05/2026 22:42

Some gingham is trendy! Not sure about the Oklahoma musical skirt here though. Get out the cowboy boots!

bridgetreilly · 12/05/2026 22:53

I love it. Think about how you want to style it.

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 13/05/2026 00:12

I love it! love the length, the tiers, the check, everything. But rather than wear it with a white T-shirt, I’d wear it with thermal top, long sleeved T-shirt, red jumper, long black leggings, winter boots, scarf, woolly hat…….🥶

😆

ReallyOtter · 13/05/2026 00:19

A butter yellow top or a shell pink could look good. Or a large bold red and black floral.
