Next have some nice ones generally if you are looking for 'cheapish'.

If you want to spend a bit more I like Daisy Ever So Fresh

Tortephant · 06/05/2026 17:29

Nuxe make the best everyday summer scent.

Overtheatlantic · 06/05/2026 17:30

Penhaligons “Halfeti” isn’t cheap but otherwise it’s as described. The problem of course is what suits you and your skin? There are perfumeries that offer libraries with 5-6 different scents.

Ponderingwindow · 06/05/2026 17:33

You shouldn’t be wearing strong perfume at work. Don’t waste your money. It’s only a matter of time before hr has to have a conversation with you because you are making a coworker or clients sick.

pontefractals · 06/05/2026 17:35

If you work with other people, maybe be a bit careful looking for a strong scent? I'm in no way opposed to perfume, I wear it myself, but I'm still recovering from an otherwise lovely ex-colleague who wore a really strong scent (either Opium or Poison, I can't remember now but it honestly smelt like fly spray to me) and refreshed it several times a day IN THE OFFICE.

woowu · 06/05/2026 17:37

I hope you work alone, nobody needs to smell your strong perfume.

GameOfJones · 06/05/2026 17:58

I am enjoying wearing Narciso Rodriguez Musc Nude at the moment for work. I got it for £30 from Amazon after trying it in John Lewis.

I think it's subtle enough to work for the office without knocking other people out but lasts well on my skin.

Turnitoffnonagain · 06/05/2026 18:01

I'd go for something fresh and light. Just Pink from Next is a good office scent. 🌸

My mum and my daughter would get a rash sitting near you. I didn't appreciate people wearing strong perfume, it's intrusive and annoying.

Ibwah · 06/05/2026 19:06

Noted aromas “Monte Carlo” it is wonderful. It’s £20 a bottle and I get compliments everyday I wear it. It’s a dupe of Baccarat rouge (don’t know spelling).

But there is an in between where people should just not omit strong odours.

I don't know why you think it's funny. It's a pretty well known migraine trigger for many people.

silverliningsomewherehot · 06/05/2026 19:27

Zara perfumes are nice for every day use

She doesn’t think it’s funny; she’s responding quite aggressively to being given an opinion she doesn’t like.

Truly cheap perfumes tend to be based on synthetics and often have a harsher throw and less nuanced profile, and because of that some people find them difficult to tolerate. I would advise to avoid them in the workplace, and instead find a longer-lasting good lasting extrait de parfum. It would give you better longevity and value for money without compromising on the fragrance profile.

AlexandraPeppernose · 06/05/2026 21:58

Please don't. I struggle even when the cleaners come in and spray stuff. It makes me really ill.

LoopyGremlin · 06/05/2026 22:08

I buy M&S perfumes for work. Cheap and dupes of popular fragrances.

Lourdes12 · 06/05/2026 22:10

Just don’t

My friend is allergic to perfume and would have to leave if sat near someone wearing a strong one, else her eyes swell up. Your response is weird, do you not care about other people? I'd rather not smell you.

Tel12 · 06/05/2026 22:23

Getting in the lift with somebody reeking, just no. Stick with a light cologne. M & S do so really good ones.

Giftspread · 06/05/2026 22:30

You sound really inconsiderate. Its not a choice between perfume or B.O. You don't have to smell of either!
