Wedding Guest Outfit - BOLD dress code

Wedding in August. Garden wedding, not going to be huge but one half is Irish.

I'm planning on wearing some gold block heels (no stilettos becuase of the garden).

The dress code is BOLD. Now, I'm more of a classic wedding guest dresser so this has thrown me a bit.

I'm 5'4'', blonde balayage hair, blue eyes (do not suit purples, yellows or orange). Late 30's, size 12-14 with a bit of a mum-tum.

I know some people hate dress codes, but they are such a fun couple that I really want to do the dress code proud and have some fun.

Aw thanks, i don’t get much chance to shop for dressy clothes with 3 little ones so i am happy to shop on others behalf and live vicariously through them 😅

I think maybe OP needs a bit of clarification on what exactly the couple are expecting because bold to some on this site seems to be everyday office to me!

I hear there's a sale on pink, puffball sleaved 80's dresses but your friend's faces may let you know if they don't like it.....

Sequins or shiny fabrics in August? No...if its hot you will die!!! Avoid for that reason.

I love this dress code, maybe the only dress code I'd actually follow!! But I love bold styles so can see how this could be overwhelming for those into more traditional dressing.

I agree! Unless you're six foot tall and are wearing heels, you'd look like a hot-air balloon that's lost its basket!
