If you had to pick one skincare product that really works what would it be and why?

Can’t afford a whole new routine but would like to introduce something - maybe a serum - to up my skincare game a bit.

I just got a Korean sunscreen and I’m in love with it, but at only 2 days it can’t be my recommendation.

Indeed micro exfoliator about twice a week. I have a bottle that’s at about 2 years old and going strong. My dh let me do him last week and he looked 5 years younger! It’s a chemical powder one.

Easy. Tretinoin at night and spf 50 in the day.

Vaseline. I’ve been applying a thin layer of it on at night over my normal (cheap-Nida at the moment if you are interested) moisturiser for ages and it works a treat to sort of seal the product and moisturise in itself. My under eye has totally reversed in crepe-I-ness as a result. Korean beauty types are also on to this and call it slugging I believe, but I just started doing it almost by accident and found it worked.

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume, apply before bed as a night mask of sorts. Have never ONCE woke up and my skin not looked 10x better with this stuff. Amazing with sunburn too.
I am very careful with my skin barrier, so im looking at all these other suggestions with interest - if anyone whose skin gets on really well with La Roche Posay Cicaplast or Effaclar, and has found any other serums etc that work for their skin, im all ears!

Effaced is the only moisturiser that doesn’t break me out so I am a devotee as it just works for me. Other than that I use the medik8 vitamin C in the mornings (there’s a more expensive serum type one which is lovely but I’m on the slightly cheaper oil based one at the moment) and SPF

against my better judgement yesterday I bought that dupe of the Nivea q10 night cream from Lidl and have woken with my skin feeling fantastic on the cheeks and forehead but with a big spot on my chin. Will keep trying it with more selective application. I may try the cicaplast next

For the No 7 fans above, there’s lot of it on £10 Tuesday today.

I’m currently nagging my mid 20s daughter to start using SPF - I wish I had at her age!

Supergoop glow screen-sunscreen, primer, moisturiser and it gives a bit of a glow. She will never look back!

@PotatoBreadForTheWin That's so annoying when a new product makes 95% of your skin look great. I get it when I apply Avene Cicalfate, most of my skin is hugely improved but with two or three small spots appearing.

Skin+Me Tret prescription cream. The dermatologist mixes it with other skincare products and it is dispatched monthly. Definitely makes a difference.

I’ve been using this for six months with the vitamin C as well, what a game changer! Mid sixties and I’m told I have fantastic skin. Think they do an offer for the first 3 months so very cheap to start and the dose of Tret increases each month to begin with. I have sensitive skin and have not had any problems.
