Gave done the majority of my switch today. Goodbye jumpers and thermals and hello summer dresses.

Still too early for me (although I saw two girls today in short shorts and vest tops which completely baffled me)...meanwhile I'm still in vest, t shirt, flannel and cardie!

Although I will probably wash and put away all my heavy duty winter bits this week like puffer coats and Oodies, etc.

I'm not in the UK, but today was woolly hat and gloves weather in the morning, but coat and cardigan off by late afternoon. I can absolutely see a 'warm' person being in skimpy clothes in the afternoon walking in the sun.
Unfortunately, I'm one of these people who are out all day so I need warm clothes most of the year. Those who can change between morning and afternoon have more leeway.

Say what now?

Rituelec · 25/04/2026 17:13

I never even do this. I wear same stuff all year really. Just layer up in winter.

Wore a summer skirt today. Did my fake tan on Thursday for an event I went to yesterday.

Have just taken out loads of dresses for work. Started looking for new sandals! Will move the jumpers away later - I had already switched to shirts instead of jumpers at work.

TheEllisGreyMethod · 25/04/2026 17:22

I did mine and DDs today! Always makes me very happy.

staringatthesun · 25/04/2026 17:52

I did mine yesterday. I love it, it always feels like I have a brand new wardrobe of clothes!

ConverselyAttired · 25/04/2026 18:19

Done it today! I only had about 15 items bagged up in the loft but I'd forgotten half of them.

fbibones · 25/04/2026 23:18

Nope, work is freezing so I need thermals and jumpers all year round there and then summer clothes for outside work

henlake7 · 26/04/2026 14:38

Im getting there slowly! Hats/scarves/gloves went up into the wardrobe today and summer clothes came down. Now I just need to swap out my winter skirts (either knitted or short) for my summer maxis.
Jumpers and cardies dont go anywhere, sometimes you still need one in the summer!

Freda69 · 26/04/2026 15:01

Did mine yesterday. I also had a bin, charity, keep sort out. Always have the ‘if I lose weight that would be ok’ thoughts. I fluctuate between a 10 and 14, depending on the item and weird sizing in some shops. I’m probably never going to be a 10 again (only happened when I was quite unwell), but a smallish 12 would be good.

Britpopbaby · 30/04/2026 12:30

Weather is good today so I have a summer outfit on including my new sandals which I am taking time to break in.

I too used it as a sort out out session and took stuff to a charity shop and I will take some at the weekend.

No! But having competely redecorated and re-furnished our bedroom DH and I now a double wardrobe each along with lots of lovely deep drawers.
I'm hopeful that clothes we put in the loft at the end of last summer can now be unpacked and be accessible with us all year round!!

I have separate wardrobes for each season.
I can't believe others haven't thought of this?

Do you have one of those systems with four wardrobes on a large rotating wheel, programmed to switch on specific dates so you always have the right season’s clothes at hand?

I’m still rotating mine manually—it’s honestly a bit embarrassing.

I don’t. But then I don’t use AI to write my posts, either.

Now I want a Faraway Tree for clothes where the top is a rotating wardrobe. And I can switch my clothes with the seasonal dates like a proper geisha.

OriginalUsername2 · 30/04/2026 13:20

My home is still chilly when it’s sunny out, especially in the evenings so I always need my warm clothes to hand unfortunately!

quirkychick · 30/04/2026 17:08

Well, I don't put away all my warm clothes. My warmest, thickest clothes go away, but I keep mid-weight clothes to layer up. As it gets into summer, I will swap over more. I don't actually have lots of clothes and enjoy the swap over to new choices. I alsobuse it as an opportunity to sort last season's stuff and find any gaps/replacements. Do whatever suits you.

The AI comment is odd so I presume for some reason you think I got some AI to write a response?

I don't actually know how to create an AI post in MN - I've no option for it as far as I can see. I was just thinking of some toy house from my childhood which you could rotate

Yep, the tell-tale dash in this sentence

I’m still rotating mine manually—it’s honestly a bit embarrassing.

which is different to the dash in your reply above.

Looks like one was copied and pasted from ChatGPT and one was typed into MN direct.

Those are the sort of signs that suggest an AI-written post.

Anyway, I would also like the rotating storage.
