Gave done the majority of my switch today. Goodbye jumpers and thermals and hello summer dresses.

Done mine last week. One of my favourite things us to pack winter clothes away and get out all mt summer ones. Husband has done his too. He just hates having to put the storage boxes back in the loft!!

DeepfriedPizza · 19/04/2026 17:22

It was 3 degrees here this morning. I had a scarf on, so, no

Hedjwitch · 19/04/2026 17:33

Different wardrobes for each season! Seriously? DH and I share two wardrobes and a chest of drawers for everything.

RaininSummer · 19/04/2026 17:34

Still a really cold wind here and socks and jumpers needed. Have the light trousers and sandals ready to go if it ever warms up.

I have separate wardrobes for each season.
I can't believe others haven't thought of this?

Some of us live in small houses!

Velvetandleather · 19/04/2026 17:36

I never do this, I couldn’t be arsed.

awfulapril · 19/04/2026 17:37

I always do it at half term, May half term and October half term do it before and it's a mistake

swapsicles · 19/04/2026 17:42

I don't have that many clothes tbh, I usually have a kallax single box at the bottom of the wardrobe that I switch between heavy jumpers and really lightweight tops/shorts at some point but not yet, it's still jeans and jumpers season!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 19/04/2026 17:44

No but I’m itching to do it next week maybe the weather here hasn’t been good enough

Octavia64 · 19/04/2026 17:45

Yep, yesterday. Glad I did as this morning was warm!

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 19/04/2026 17:45

No, it's still definitely jumpers and trousers weather here. I was outside all day yesterday and hugely regretted wearing a light jacket instead of a proper coat.

I may have been joking 😏

Oh to have the space!!

my off season clothes get thrown in a laundry bag and lobbed on top of the wardrobe!

JustPlainStanfreyPock · 19/04/2026 17:50

It's been sunny here in Central Scotland but still on the chilly side. Am casting off the heavier thermal underlayers, but wouldn't go so far as a summer dress just yet 🥶

I do put away very summery/holiday stuff like linen tops and shorts, which don't come out until June, when hopefully the big jumpers and thermal socks can finally go away. Storage boxes on top of the wardrobe are my solution, can't stand a crammed wardrobe.

HeadDeskHeadDesk · 19/04/2026 17:54

No. I've lost loads of weight since last summer and nothing will fit. I need a whole new summer wardrobe, which sounds like a fun problem to have but it isn't. I am sick to death of going round and round the shops and finding absolutely nothing that I want to buy. Nothing. I've never known the shops full of such a dull and uninspiring, poor quality pile of crap. It's utterly depressing out there.

Ineedanewsofa · 19/04/2026 17:55

Nope, in fact have just bought two extra cardigans as it’s so bloody cold in the office! I’m trying to downsize my wardrobe though so unless something is specifically holiday clothing it’s out all year round now. I’ve put more for the charity bag today as I’ve not worn for 6 months (and CBA trying to sell cheaper stuff on Vinted)

shellyleppard · 19/04/2026 17:57

Did mine a couple of weeks ago including putting away my winter coat. Went out Friday for a hospital appointment with a body warmer on. It absolutely pissed down on way home. Had to put the central heating on to get warmed up!! 🤣 As my old Scottish mum used to say...."never cast a clout till May's out" 🤣🤣

Gcn · 19/04/2026 17:58

I've gone out without my cardi on. Does that count?

PuppyMonkey · 19/04/2026 18:03

I’m just on the verge of switching to no socks in bed at night but not quite there yet.Grin

Edited

This is me. My summer wardrobe was tight last year so it’s ok it will fit nicely but my winter wardrobe is hanging off me. I’ll have to completely replace all of it

MiddleAgedDread · 19/04/2026 16:51

The what??

What you have to do if you don't have a ginormous wardrobe. I've actually got quite a large wardrobe, but the other season's clothes still have to be in suitcases for half the year.

Ha ha. I've done that switch, but I've still got the winter duvet, which means I'm half in and half out of it all night or have to open the window.

OMG yes, if I only I could ' think' about it!
Maybe I can think about having a walk-in closet!

DSKong · 19/04/2026 18:11

Did it at Easter. Now need to wait for the weather to catch up!
