Beauty chat - freebies/gifts with purchase/offers THREAD FOURTEEN

Time for a new thread, our first in a MN Community Group. We've chatted and purchased beauty bargains so much we've become a literal tribe! 😂

In other news PLouise was out of the gate with ridiculous speed announcing the first advent calendar waitlist in April.

In celebration I thought I'd try out a poll. It runs for 7 days, there was only 6 options so comment in the thread for those that come under 'Other'.

As always, welcome back long standing beauty bargain hunters and hi to anyone new who would like to join. Usual caveats about the threads being bad for you wallet still apply, but enjoy anyway. 🤗

There’s 10% off at the moment so £14.40, they were £10 in Thailand (discounted from £14.60) so very similar! I like the look of the odd silicone brush they sell to go with it 😅

namechange0998776554799000 · 21/04/2026 21:10

Fwee pots are £14.40 on Amazon too. I bought one of the jelly pots a while ago. I really love the lip glosses, bought several colours when I discovered them.

I also bought a silicone 'finger' brush - not Fwee, a cheap knock off, but similar and I use it every day to apply my lip mask. I love it - can't stand getting sticky fingers and I don't like the ones that come with them in a little plastic case that gets all greasy

user593 · 21/04/2026 21:17

@namechange0998776554799000 Allegedly my local Boots stocks the Fwee stuff so I’m going to go and take a look tomorrow. This thread is very dangerous!

Yes, it was me! That’s awful @namechange0998776554799000

I don’t have particularly sensitive skin myself, but anything mint/plumping on my lips is a no no. I’m not allergic to mint, so it’s obviously the chemical substitute I am reacting to. I wish I knew what it was 🤷‍♀️

Re: Lips - mine have been so sore for weeks - I think I had some kind of reaction to something - maybe a sleep oil. I think they are now finally getting back to normal 🤞

I hope you are ok now @namechange0998776554799000

@IlovePond have you tried this ? Me and my youngest daughter have endless problem with dry and cracked lips then I read India knight ( times beauty) and she recommended this . It’s been a game changer for us . And it’s cheap ! I put it on let it dry then add a balm . I honestly thought it was not going to stand a chance but it’s like a little miracle ! Obvs you would need to check ingredients but I am telling everyone I know !

I have some of that. I forget to use it a lot but it is good. Go in gently at first as it's an acquired taste if you get too much in your mouth.

Welcome @Snapespeare 💜 As a relative newbie, I can confirm that this thread is full of very lovely enablers. My skincare & beauty stash has skyrocketed, my postman is delivering several boxes a day week ( even my DH is starting to notice the increase, and it wasn’t low before!) and my bedtime regime is taking 3 times as long!

But my skin looks nice, and I’m having fun, so it’s all good 😂

Also, looks like Rimmel may have been ahead of the game with their jelly makeup range about 8 years ago…they discontinued it fairly fast, so I had to track down blush remainders on eBay, but it was very similar to some of the K beauty products I’m seeing on SK now!

SheilaFentiman · 21/04/2026 23:53

@SunnyPinkMoose I saw that recommended by another beauty journo too. Obviously I bought it 😀

Willow742 · 22/04/2026 01:58

Just spotted there's now a £10 gift voucher at CB when you spend £50 on sun/spf/tan, including the new edit...

I have this, I had to buy it at the h beauty event so that I could make a beaded bracelet, no idea where said bracelet is now though. I do use the serum though. I get dry skin when I wear lip stick so it's great for rescuing them, it's really cheap too 🥰

JoRaRaRa · 22/04/2026 07:21

Talking about the CB sun edit, mine hasn't been dispatched yet 🙁 it was meant to be next day delivery. I paid for it using credit, but credit I already had before the points debacle. I wonder if a ban is incoming 🙈

Doglover73 · 22/04/2026 08:01

Cant find a code to work on the edit or may have got one 🫣🤣

Beautyfox · 22/04/2026 08:02

Bday15 works on the sun edit

Doglover73 · 22/04/2026 08:11

Oh thanks. I was using capitals. Now I need to decide if I really need/want it.
So annoying the vouchers cant be used with discount codes. Especially when minimum spend for free postage has gone up. 🙄

Beautyfox · 22/04/2026 08:16

I’m holding off buying any more edits because I suspect a GWP will be launched soon. I think the code works either way (capitals or lowercase) so it’s strange it doesn’t work for you in uppercase.

edited to say: it also really annoys me too that you can’t use the gift cards and promotional codes together.

TragicMuse · 22/04/2026 08:19

I keep getting ads for a Laura Geller offer of a palette. I do already use the baked powder foundation thing so that would get used, and I do like the look of it all…but I don’t know if I would use everything else.

I want it and it is a bargain! Aaaargh!

Doglover73 · 22/04/2026 08:25

Im resisting. The £30 minimum delivery sucks. 🤣

Itsokayimgoodletsgo · 22/04/2026 08:30

I almost posted yesterday that I feel cured, because I've not made any beauty purchases for as long as I can remember. I've not been tempted by anything, and the thought of having 21 blushers makes me feel sick. However I then fell victim to an email from justmylook, a k beauty edit with £5 off, then added other bits to get the free goodie bag, including shampoo and conditioner for dc that came with another free gift. It is all apparently being delivered this morning for free, around 12 hours since I purchased!

Thelifeofawife · 22/04/2026 08:30

I’m doing surprisingly well at resisting the edits and I also haven’t yet caved in for the Dior lipstick/case set (I say yet, because I do really like them, it’s just a bit spendy)

Puravida23 · 22/04/2026 08:44

Mmm I think the £10 voucher definitely makes the CB sun edit more attractive. Sales must have been really low for them to offer this incentive so early but still not sure . Wish they would just credit your account £10.as those vouchers have a bit of a hit or miss strike rate

I think sales will be generally lower for them with the recent customer service we have all experienced and the bad reviews.

I still haven’t received one of my face masks from the bonus deal recently, but I value my time too much to deal with their customer service again for the sake of £1.60

Fillybuster · 22/04/2026 10:27

Medik8 order, CB edit AND Marks beauty box have all arrived this morning, and I just received a message saying that my SK order will be delivered later today too!
Thank goodness everyone else is out today 😂 That’s a lot of boxes to hide or unpack very fast indeed…..

I'm going to London next month so I'm trying to be good in anticipation of getting the Harrod's May gwp again. It was £250 last year but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes up to £275 - 300.

I might not get it but if I end up buying a birthday perfume or other items then it may as well be Harrods for the gwp.

I have zero parcels on the way atm, not even Vinted, which might be some kind of record for me. 😂

SummerLimes · 22/04/2026 11:30

@OvaHere I think this is my strategy for Harrods as Liberty was poor (sort it out Liberty!!).
