I have used Alien by Thierry Mugler and get a lot of compliments when I use that perfume. I am currently wearing Kenzo and just received one compliment.

Fashionably London, Zara x

I asked someone the other day what they were wearing and it was this, I was really suprised as it smelled amazing on her.

Gucci by Gucci, long discontinued and I'm on the dregs now, so it comes out only now and again

Still looking for the replacement for that, Halfeti and Gucci Guilty in the meantime, both crowd, and me, pleasers.

@MyEasterBonnet try perfume parlour dupes!

Vanilla Powder by matiere premiere is absolutely gorgeous. Really long lasting and I have never been told I smelt lovely by so many people before. It was the Christmas day gift in the Liberty advent calendar. Unfortunately it also turns out I’m massively allergic to it when I spray it on my skin rather than clothes as I found out after attending a couple of black tie do’s recently 🤦🏻‍♀️

YouOKHun · 11/04/2026 18:10

The one I’m always asked about is Molecule 01. Some people can’t smell it at all but I’ve been stopped in the street and asked what it is (with a compliment, not “what on earth is that smell?!”).

Empress13 · 11/04/2026 18:11

Balmain Carbone EDP smells so expensive always get comments

YouOKHun · 11/04/2026 18:13

I’ve just remembered, the one I loved but others didn’t was a Jo Malone scent now discontinued (I think) called Amber and Lavender. It was pretty strong.

MundaneTuesdane · 11/04/2026 18:13

I like Penhaligon's Opus but it's never been noticed on me. I've received compliments on several of the Zara Jo Malone collaboration fragrances - they are quite strong and last well.

You’re the first person I’ve met who likes Alien! I find it completely overpowering. I was bought la vie est belle as a gift and recieved lots of compliments as pp has also said - it wouldn’t be what I would choose myself but I think it’s a strong / long lasting scent. It’s very feminine. I really like Diptyque fragrances, they’re also long lasting and also not that well known so a bit original. Xo

I quite like Alien. It's synthetic smelling but in a good way.

Pallisers · 11/04/2026 18:17

Back in the day I'd get compliments on YSL Rive Gauche and Estee Lauder Pleasures - but I don't like them anymore. I think they've changed the formula.

I do get compliments on jo malone English pear and freesia which is what I wear everyday.

Goldfield and Banks Bohemian Lime

Utterly gorgeous. It smells so more expensive than it is.

My current favourite is the Gourmand coffee perfume from Zara. Not tried the Fashionably London one.

Blueeberry · 11/04/2026 18:22

Prada Paradoxe Intense - my absolute favourite perfume & I always get compliments when I wear it. Pricey but worth it as the longevity is amazing.

SpainToday · 11/04/2026 18:23

Cypress Grapevine by Jo Malone

Thewaterboy · 11/04/2026 18:23

I like Chanel allure but it’s really expensive now so I don’t really wear if often. I need a day to day one, cheaper

luckylavender · 11/04/2026 18:25

I use lots of difference fragrances but always get compliments on Coco Chanel & the Aldi Jo Malone dupe. Never an original Jo Malone!

SpidersAreShitheads · 11/04/2026 18:33

Be by CK is my go-to perfume. It smells fresh and clean on me, almost soapy. I get so many compliments and someone said to me the other day “you always smell so nice!” which was lovely to hear!

I’ve tried other perfumes and found plenty that smell nice - but none as much as CK Be so I always revert back.

My DC like me wearing CK Be as they recognise it as “my” smell.

Carouseloflife · 11/04/2026 18:37

Dior Dolce Vita, I’ve been wearing it for years and still get compliments about it .

Chelsea26 · 11/04/2026 18:38

I wear Very Irresistible by Givenchy and get a lot of compliments, I can’t wear anything else as I think I smell ‘wrong’!

I have a perfume I bought from Mango that I get loads of compliments about. Far more than any of my expensive perfumes!

Which perfume is this please @Execrgybjkkbgdsxhutdc ?

namechangeabc123 · 11/04/2026 18:41

I’ve had compliments when I’ve worn Miller Harris Tabac. I’m not even sure I like it! It’s slightly too masculine for me.

Nanda66 · 11/04/2026 18:47

Chanel no 5 - men always comment on it.
Black Sugar by Korres - an impulse buy in Greece, a gorgeous summer scent.

TheGreenBow · 11/04/2026 18:48

I forgot to say my favourites (I have a few and constantly change my top 5 but currently loving and would recommend) - Victorias Secret Bare Sueded Vanilla. Smells a lot like Sol de Janeiro 59 but more expensive smelling and longer lasting and also the newish Armani Power of You (a realistic rich passion fruit scent with vanilla). They’re both quite addictive in that I miss them when not wearing/smelling them.

GameOfJones · 11/04/2026 18:50

My favourite perfume currently is Bitter Peach by Tom Ford.

The one I have been most complimented on is La Vie Est Belle which is funny because I'm not actually that keen on it, it's overly sweet for my liking but it was given to me as a gift.

Bitter Peach is also sweet but has an edge.

Not sure if you know but I think Zara Immortal Vanilla is a very close dupe. Maybe that would work better on your skin! And better for your wallet too 🤣
