Can anyone help me find a special dress for dd aged 5 to wear to a wedding

She is not going to be a bridesmaid/flower girl but it is her first wedding and she is really excited. She is going to be there for the whole thing

I would like to get her something really lovely, she would like sparkly I think. She looks great in pink, cornflower blue, yellow, in fact most colours (she has blonde corkscrew curls, huge blue eyes and pinky cheeks!)

Anyone seen anything around?

What is your budget? Monsoon do glorious little girl dresses but EVERYBODY buys from there

MrsBadger · 19/06/2008 12:43

personally I think sparkly is ott for a day event (just as it is for adults) and I would go for something classic and cotton with a sash

Have a look at Rachel Riley if you have the budget, also Jigsaw Junior or Bonpoint

lazarou · 19/06/2008 12:44

this is lovely

nervousal · 19/06/2008 12:51

MamaG · 19/06/2008 13:04

lilyloo - got to be brutally honest and say that I think the satiny dresses for little girls look cheap and nasty sorry

MamaG · 19/06/2008 13:05

this should have been second link!

TillyScoutsmum · 19/06/2008 13:05

MamaG · 19/06/2008 13:22

mine too lily unfortuantely

WelliesAndPyjamas · 19/06/2008 13:25

awww, they're all so lovely
I want a little girl to dress up

lilyloo · 19/06/2008 13:26

With a nice pair of heels too

Wellies however what you would dress them in and what they choose to wear are two things entirely

newgirl · 19/06/2008 13:28

i agree keep the sparkles on the shoes - glittery ballet pumps? or hair clip?

Bink · 19/06/2008 13:30

I like that Little Fashion Gallery place

lilac antik batik dress £35.50 (also comes in dark blue)

stealthsquiggle · 19/06/2008 13:30

I love this (in blue)

newgirl · 19/06/2008 13:31

i can't find one online but is pure white an option as she is a bridesmaid? would that be ok with the wedding dress? that is definitely what i would go for. add a coloured sash or flowers if you need to. I did see some in harrods last year if you are going for it!!

lol lilyloo - the reailty is of course that a DD would have no choice but to mostly wear DS' hand-me-downs!!

I have bought my dd a gorgeous dress from matalan of all places. Unfortunatly its not on the website, but it is red with white spots on, there were loads of others to choose from too.

No need to spend £30- £40 when you dont need to... do love the monsoon ones though!

flipflopper · 19/06/2008 13:37

It was £8 btw- you could get one in each colour!
