Which Gucci bag - help me choose

Calling all luxury bag lovers!

Decided to treat myself due to pay rise. I have a couple of small Gucci bags already but I'm looking for something more practical that I can use for travel which will fit my kindle and essentials. These two are a similar size but the big price difference is swaying me. Help me choose? (Don't tell me to use a carrier bag or buy a bench...)

I am firmly in the ‘What’s wrong with Radley” camp, so please feel free to ignore me…

But when I shop for a handbag, I like to try them - sometimes handles dig in, or the length is awkward. It’s also good to put your essentials in them, and see how easy it is to get stuff in and out. I’d go and check out the bags in person.

I like the shape of the bucket bag but the combination of it being small and open means that you really will not be able fit more than phone, lipstick, tissues. Anything more will look overstuffed and spill out.

You cannot wear an LV bag out. Not cheap but you’ll get years and years out of it.

I have a number of LV bags, an Eclipse I have had for 28 years! and a Neverful I have had for 10 years. Used the Eclipse everyday for 10/12 years then used the Neverful everyday for the next 10 years. I think I got my money's worth - both still going strong.
There are some great preloved bags around. If I had 1500 I think I would buy a Chanel tote preloved.

I have this and absolutely love it for travel - it has a zip as well as a shoulder strap which can also be crossbody if preferred. Also, I might be the only one but I loved the first bag you posted but it was too small. Really liked the colour blocks on the end. This is why so many bags are needed - no bag can do everything!

Oh I do love it when people jump on a bag thread just to criticise.

Personally I wouldn’t go for Gucci. It’s definitely had its’ day. Avoid any brands and designer brands that is majorly counterfeited.

If you are spending Gucci sort of money you have got a good choice. I would suggest Mulberry, Strathberry or something niche. Don’t know your age but if you want to avoid looking flash or fake look at the brands Kate, Princess of Wales or Zara Tindall wear. Happy Shopping x

@Idontbelievewhatyousayanymore my question was which would you choose of the two options. Not whether the Longchamp le Pliage was ugly or not.

I really like Kate's brown suede DeMellier bag. I like Strathberry, but I have to say I'm not a fan of Mulberry.

They are such useful bags, and really robust.
