Which I have always thought were utterly hideous and should only be worn by Dutch architects- they’re growing on me!
do they fall off your feet if you walk quickly?

I’m not the person you want on this thread as I only looked them up now. Yes they look ugly but weirdly comfy and are so expensive my brain is saying’ooh you really have to try them on, they must feel like pillows for your feet!’😅

Forty85 · 20/03/2026 10:13

I'm a fast walker, my husband and chidlren always complain, and they havent fallen off my feet.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 20/03/2026 10:16

Never fallen off my feet!

Catcatcatcatcat · 20/03/2026 10:25

I bloody love mine. I wear them loads and they have never fallen off!

dudsville · 20/03/2026 10:30

They don't fall off. They are for quite specific feet though, not flat feet. Try before you buy, if you have flat feet and they're painful on you that will not get better. I love mine, but I have arches. They're my go to for long flights, amongst other things.

Psychosislotus · 20/03/2026 10:31

Are you talking about the superbirki?

I am wearing them right now. They are my house shoes.

Daisypod · 20/03/2026 10:33

I have flat feet and my podiatrist advised me to wear Birkenstock type soles as they give good arch support.
i love mine, so comfy and don’t fall off

Oh! I've always heard the opposite, my apologies. I thought the flat footed suited things like saltwaters.

Psychosislotus · 20/03/2026 10:35

Sorry that wasn’t very helpful! Basically they are heavy. But built like a tank. Super comfy. Fully washable. Can replace or upgrade sole inserts.

I have them because they are great for working in kitchen. Drop a knife and you’re all good. Also great for standing on Lego.

MissMogs · 20/03/2026 10:38

Just googled them and they look just like crocs. Has anyone worn both and can say which is better? I get plantar fasciitis

Birkenstock are brilliant for PF, you might need something softer in an acute flare up but Birkenstock are great longterm for helping with PF.

I triggered a horrible episode of PF wearing Skechers in Rome. Was really worried that it would ruin the rest of the holiday. I wore Fitflops when I first got out of bed as I needed more cushioning, then swapped to Birkenstock before heading out sightseeing, the PF improved despite walking over 20k steps, sometimes over 30k, everyday.

I swear by Birks, incredibly supportive of your feet and encourage correct function. As soon as the weather is good enough they are my go to shoe for walking long distances.

Dearover · 20/03/2026 10:51

Look at the Londons which are shoes rather than clogs. Hugely comfy but ugly

brightnails · 20/03/2026 10:55

way too wide for my feet, so yes they fall off even between car and work . to be fair there’s all whole science to Birkenstock fitting, visit a store

They do a narrow fit now

BananaSkinShoes · 20/03/2026 11:33

I love mine. I wear them with slouchy socks that I bought especially to wear with them. They don’t fall off.

FrenchandSaunders · 20/03/2026 11:35

I use them as slippers around the house ... I can't walk far in them, not sure why as I usually stride out in most footwear. I recently watched a video of me on my ring doorbell putting the bins out ... shuffling along like an old lady.

ChangePlease · 20/03/2026 11:39

@BananaSkinShoes which socks do you use? I can never get it quite right, size 9 feet and love my Birkies!

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 20/03/2026 11:59

I’ve loads of these! Mainly from Primark, Sainsbury’s and Dunelm. Great to just pop on when I’m running around and there so comfy!

no they don't. i've worn them on holiday and walked 30k+ steps a day (new york!!). also worn to the beach, work, the gym. love them and use them daily.

steinwayto · 20/03/2026 12:04

Do you mean the Boston? It’s a lovely shoe and never falls off. Very comfy.

Or do you mean the plastic thing that looks like a croc with no holes?

YesssSpringHasSprung · 20/03/2026 12:06

Love all birkis

Twoshoesnewshoes · 20/03/2026 12:10

Not the croc style , the suede ones with the buckles at the side

You can't run for the bus in them though...
