What's the opinion on Vans trainers on a 40 something woman?

I'm on the hunt for some new trainers as all mine are passed their best . On the off chance, I tried a pair of vans on in a store and they were so comfy. I've seen a cheaper , purple suede pair of Authentics in the clearance section of the website that I'm very tempted with.

My main questions are will I look like an overgrown teenager?

How are they for quality?

Absolutely fine in my opinion. I am 52 and have a great collection of trainers/converse/vans. Love colour matching to my outfits. Go for it.

I'm mid 40s and still dress like a teenager when not at work and just don't care. I still wear converse trainers which I loved as a teenager
DD has the same size feet as.me so I get her cast offs when she has gone off them

I'm 55 and my favourite trainers at my vans with roses up the side or my converse.

I'm done with people telling me what I can and cant wear...fuck um and be you

Wear what you want I say! 😆 I’m 43 and have a varied collection of trainers - including 3 pairs of platform converse, NB 9060, NB 327s and many more! My husband is a massive Vans fan, he has several different pairs! I also live in sports leggings and oversized hoodies (including white fox and Blakley)…..I don’t really care what anyone else thinks! 🤣

I love a trainer and I’m 50+

I like a NB currently and am eyeing up some Hoff ones but if you like them wear them!

I'm 45 and love my Vans. In fact I was inspired to buy some after seeing them on a friend in her 60's and thinking they looked great. They're so comfy too.

I’ve got a couple of pairs of Vans but haven’t worn them much recently as they’re not very in style and don’t go with my current favourite clothes. They’re also my LEAST comfortable trainers, they’re so flat.

Completely unremarkable. I see women of all ages wearing vans and converse. In fact, you're just as likely to see a middle aged woman wearing vans as a teenager I'd say.

I def wore converse in my 30s40s. I don’t find them that comfortable but I’m def a trainers person, although wear boots in the winter mainly. An mid-50s.

I've always been a bit wary of dressing like a teenager. I suppose I'm quite plain and casual .

Wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing.

Other people's opinions of what you are wearing is just that, their opinion. It is just as important to you as the colour of their underwear. You don't know about it unless they tell you and if they tell you, why do you care? 😊(Best advice I was ever given)

I bought Hoff ones in the Summer - they are very cushioned but quite wide. I need insoles.

I'm rather tempted with some colour too. I can't get away with colour near my face. There are so many colourful trainers around at the minute.

I don't really believe in age limits for clothing, mostly. Vans on any age: perfectly fine.

Why can't you wear colour near your face? 🤔

Definitely go for it ! I am in my sixties and love my converse/ vans and trainers , more colourful the better !

Lovely bit of information, thanks! I find converse/vans uncomfortable but a wider style might work.

Possibly a better option than ballet flats mid winter with no socks because none of the 50 pairs of more appropriate shoes were tolerable that day.

I found them comfy when I tried them in the shop , although they were canvas and I'm tempted with suede.

I think they may be pushing the budget up , I'm trying to keep costs down .

can’t bear this “too old” to have long hair, wear x, y, z crap. If I like it and it’s comfy, I’ll wear it. Anyone wants to judge, that’s on them.
