Cord trousers?

Moonlightfrog · 07/01/2026 09:23

I am looking for some comfy cord trousers. I have a few sensory issues with clothing, jeans are so uncomfortable and I currently live in dungarees as I hate tight things around my waist. I would love a pair of soft core trousers, ideally with a partially elasticated waist (at the back), ideally with legs I can roll up at the bottoms so wear with boots or trainers. I have seen a few pairs on pintrest but most are not available in UK. I like the ones from passenger clothing but they don’t have my size. Ideally I want to spend less than £50 but can’t stretch a bit further if need be. Ideally in khaki, green, maroon or mustard colour.

Does such a thing exist? Help 😊

Seasalt

Seasalt.

Avoid White Stuff. They grew and grew until they fell down on me?

dudsville · 07/01/2026 09:38

Seasalt and Lucy & Yak both do nice affordable cord.

Thank you, I have looked at M&S but they are not quite what I am looking for. They look too tight around the bottom. Ideally I don’t want wide leg but not tight on the leg either. I think I am probably looking for the impossible.

I do have some similar to the woolovers which I like but would like something loser, especially around the thighs.

I got some amazing slouchy soft cords from next a while ago - I'll see if I can find a link. Elasticated waist but I don't think you could roll up the bottoms.

My recent pair of cords are from Next. They are wide leg which is roomy on the thigh. They are listed as women's soft corduroy trousers £29 in a number of colours. Sorry can't link.

Last autumn, I bought a pair of Next own brand with a fully elasticated waist. Very soft and very very comfortable- but possibly too wide leg to roll up? I sold them on Vinted as the cord was a bit jumbo for my liking and they weren't smart enough for work but they might fit your brief?

TheOGCCL · 07/01/2026 10:26

Seasalt Crackington trousers. Elasticated at the back, fasten to the side and you can even get away with having a button undone. Neither too skinny nor too wide, definitely rollable. 100% cotton. Sometimes the colours are a bit wacky and the good colours sell out, but as Seasalt clothes are generally good quality there is a good second hand market. Seasalt also have a sale shop on eBay.

Sounds like the pair I bought. They are so comfortable!

Halara, I should have sized down, but they are super comfortable.

I have just got two pairs of men’s ones from uniqlo - very comfy, elastic waist, I’m a size 14 apple, 5’4 and the men’s medium fits perfectly. Range of colours available and only £25

CandlelitKitchen · 07/01/2026 11:04

I normally live in dungarees too because of the waist thing.
I've bought some cords from Sainsbury's for £22.50 and they are so very comfortable I am going back today to buy them in the other colour. Possibly too wide legged for you, but worth a look as they are like butter to wear.

I have got two pairs of the White Stuff ones. Gorgeous colours - a sort of a moss green and a rich burgundy.
They do come up rather big but mine haven't grown!

FurForksSake · 07/01/2026 11:13

White stuff are definitely massively vanity sizers, I’d go down two sizes if you can. Annoyingly I’d need a 4 (I’m no way a 4) and they don’t sell that small.

Pinknotpurple · 07/01/2026 11:15

Cotton traders have lots to choose from, just search pull on stretch cord trousers on their website.

Dollos · 07/01/2026 12:44

Oliver Bonas have some beauts

Moonlightfrog · 07/01/2026 12:58

I love these ones but worried about their sizes as they are a one size fits all? I am a 12 and petite, not sure if they will look big on me?
