Removing pubic hair

Good morning all. How is everyone removing pubic hair nowadays (all of it).
I usually use removal cream but I’m overly sensitive and have come out in lots of red spots.
Shaving brings me out in red spots.
I don’t fancy waxing. Are there any other options out there?
Perhaps the electric shavers? What are they like, do they offer a close shave?
Home laser treatment- how does this work with public hair?

Wtf????!!!!!! Most men fully shave their pubes? What a world!

DH fully shaves, balls and all. We’re like two slippery eels together.

I think this person was referring to the fact that no one had suggested this although I have had a comment from someone about not wanting to be with someone who said they would feel uncomfortable about being with someone who wanted them to look like an 8 year old down there 🙄

That Is what I’m referring to. We knew it would not be long for someone to imply that people who wax their pubic hair look like 8 year olds and therefore their partner must have paedo tendencies. It’s utterly ridiculous. And diminishes a woman’s right to personal preference. So so predictable though. I can assure those people that my hairless bikini area looks absolutely nothing like an 8 year olds! 😂

You originally stated clearly that you were doing it because it made you feel more comfortable during sex. I was responding to that - which, in my opinion, is ludicrous given the discomfort you're willing to endure to achieve hairlessness. I think it's fair for me to point this out.

Who said anything about me willing to endure discomfort? I’ve said there are red spots but I’ve said nothing about discomfort. Even if I did, how do you not know for me that how I feel overrides any feelings of discomfort? Some people may feel happier to put up with a little discomfort than they would letting it grow because of how it makes them feel for whatever reason that may be. I don’t know why people can’t just respect a persons choice without making so many comments about it when opinions have not been asked.

That’s not what she said.

I'll share a secret for preventing shaving rash. Roll-on deodorant. Shave everything off, then put roll-
on deodorant on the mound. I was given this tip in my teens on another forum where the poster claimed she got it from a porn star. I was skeptical but thought why not give it a go and it really works. I don't know how it works but it does.

A friend of mine swears by professional waxing, i woild like to try but I don't have the confidence, never had anyone but my husband and the nurses who've done my smear tests down there over the years.

Crushed23 · 05/01/2026 16:15

Lasered a few years ago which greatly reduced hair. Now shave it (all) off.

I know…I’m going off on a tangent but I find the implication that it is “cleaner”, “neater”, “sexier” as a women to remove all your pubic hair uncomfortable. Why do some women think this? Is it because we have been conditioned to believe that our vulvas are dirty, disgusting, and shameful? Do men feel like this about their genitals?

HumbleStumble · 05/01/2026 16:16

Béchamel sauce, for me

Many men do groom themselves actually. Which can only be a good thing 👍

Editing to add that it’s quite a stretch from wanting to be neat and clean, to feeling shameful and dirty. Get a grip.

🤣 not tried that on my bikini line 🤣

The people making it weird are just that, WEIRD. Of course anyone can be more comfortable without certain body hair. I bet every one of you remove your own leg hair.

How many of you look in disgust at your husbands for having a clean shaven face? I mean, surely you don’t want him to look pre-pubescent !

Not sure if I’ve been “conditioned” or not, and I don’t really care. I hate body hair on me and don’t have any below my eyebrows/eyelashes. This has been the case for most of my adult life and doesn’t change if I’m single / not having sex.

I don’t judge anyone for choosing to keep their body hair, it’s none of my business.

Slippery eels 😁

My partner shaves all his bits too. He said it feels cleaner. He uses an electric shaver.

landlordhell · 05/01/2026 16:20

Wax top of inner legs but otherwise I trim the length a little bit that’s it. DH trims a little off length. Would not like him to shave it off and neither does he. He doesn’t mind what I do.

You could argue that people removing the hair are making their vulva the star of the show. Maybe people who keep their hair are denying the majestic vulva it's place in the spotlight! 😉

Or, we could just all not worry about what other people are doing with their vulva. Ideally.

How can you compare legs or a man’s face to genitals? Completely different 🙄 but if you want to have sex with the genitalia of a prepubescent child then you do you 👍

Do you realise how inappropriate it is to casually imply such things? It's creepy.

I understand and I don’t know either… I am trying not to hate my body and sometimes the words that people use to describe their own bodies can make other people feel ashamed about their bodies. I am trying to accept myself. I’ve spent too many years hating my appearance.

GlomOfNit · 05/01/2026 16:30

See, this is why I love being a battered old perimenopausal feminist with no more fucks to give. I leave it be, it's not done nuffin' to me. I'm sad that it's started balding around the sides (I think it's where my pants elastic rubs) and is definitely thinner on top, though I won't consider a merkin - that's just silly.

I do, however, go to town on the stray pubes that carpet my thighs and make me faun-like. When I can be arsed. (I use Immac or sometimes wax strips.) Honestly, nobody whatsoever is scrutinising my thighs or 'bikini line' on the rare occasions I haul myself to a swimming pool, and as stated, I have no fucks left to give in any case.

Women can have choices, shocking I know. People find body hair uncomfortable for all sorts of reasons. I enjoy the feeing on occasion of being freshly waxed, Perfectly smooth skin, it’s beautiful and feels fresh and satisfying. I also enjoy sporting full bush, wild and untamed. There is nothig inherently wrong with either of these things.

I take issue with men who ONLY like a hairless vulva and are themselves put off by natural body hair. I have no issue whatsoever with what ANY women decides to do personally with her body hair because it makes HER feel more comfortable.

Well I wouldn’t say I do worry about what other people do with their vulvas day to day but the OP did bring it up!! 😆

It’s more the language I was commenting on and how this can make other people feel ashamed about their own bodies.
