Removing pubic hair

bluedabadeedabadoo · 05/01/2026 11:52

Good morning all. How is everyone removing pubic hair nowadays (all of it).
I usually use removal cream but I’m overly sensitive and have come out in lots of red spots.
Shaving brings me out in red spots.
I don’t fancy waxing. Are there any other options out there?
Perhaps the electric shavers? What are they like, do they offer a close shave?
Home laser treatment- how does this work with public hair?

I have a full on bush right now, the beauty of being single and not giving a damn.
mind, i do need to do something!

Why do you? I mean really why?

User8008135 · 05/01/2026 15:43

I have a descendable bikini line so I like to do short back and sides but honestly the only time it's not lead to rashes is waxing. Hair removal burns, shaving leaves a red rash. Waxing I do get ingrown hairs, years ago I used TEND skin and never had any issues but the last time I tried to buy it, it was mega expensive through amazon only 😔.

My cousin gets laser and raves about it but her hair is very dark and coarse, which apparently is the best type to get laser with.

Womaninhouse17 · 05/01/2026 15:45

Just don't remove it. There's nothing wrong with it being there!

I'd say her not wanting it there is enough of a reason 🙄

Why don’t we think it’s just your personal choice?

Because it’s a strange choice to make ? It’s unhealthy and painful and yet you still want to persist ?

if you were self harming it would be seen as a bad thing. Why is this not self harming? What makes this ok?

Jesus fucking Christ 🤣

God, these threads. I've never touched mine (nor my armpits or any other body hair) but being patronised to within an inch of my life by smug, self righteous randoms is almost enough to send me running to the waxers on general principle.

Who needs men controlling how we manage our bodies when there's a huge line of women falling over themselves to do it?

Absolutely. And I didn’t even post it in AIBU!!!

I'd had Brazilian waxes for years, then l had a full Hollywood (everything off) once, and maintained it with an epilator.

God, I LOVE my bush!

Springy curly hairs that keep my pants from rubbing on my skin. Something for DH to wrap his fingers round when we lie with our hands on each others bits in a post-sex glow.

There are some days that I really regret learning to read...

Exactly this. Couldn't care less what OP does, but she's asking on a forum how to avoid pain, rash, stubble etc in order to remove her pubic hair and the only reason she gives for doing so is 'comfort during sex'. Wtf? Plainly, comfort is not her priority or she would not be implementing these senseless tortures to herself.

Edited

Is not how I feel personally as an important enough reason? If it makes me feel happier, better, more confident, cleaner, why is that not enough of a valid reason?

I just tidy mine up now. I don't find the pre-pubescent look attractive in the slightest.

If you shave you need to remember to exfoliate so you don't get ingrown hairs or the little spots.

Have you tried a cream for sensitive skin? Veet do one it may be more gentler than a normal cream.

Everyone telling her to leave it are missing the point, she doesn't want to leave it. Not everyone wants to be hairy, if I didn't wax or shave I'd be more harrier than some men (just the way I am, absolutely nothing wrong with me before anyone jumps in with their Internet diagnosis).

Yep I exfoliate, use sensitive cream and also use aloe Vera too.

I take all of mine off with bikini clippers.

The implications in comments like this are really gross. If it's not for you, that's fine but it's odd to make it about children! 😬

Bit I'm saying that it does look gross, and for that reason!

JayJayj · 05/01/2026 16:01

I bought this https://amzn.eu/d/catwgQM

not as close a shave as a razor but still good. And it hasn’t cause me and rash like I get with shaving.

It doesn't look gross, the bringing up children's bodies on a thread where an adult woman is asking for beauty advice is gross.

Firm agree.
Never once have I heard a bald headed man be compared to a baby, despite the almost identical haircuts.

Disturbia81 · 05/01/2026 16:03

I just use a Venus razor, takes 2 mins

AD1996 · 05/01/2026 16:04

I’ve been shaving since I was about 15 down there bald, wax before I go on holiday. I have never had an issue with shaving and I use hair conditioner and a estrid razor but I would love to have laser which I’m going to look into when I have finished renovating 🥴 I don’t like how the hair feels so completely my choice, my partner couldn’t care less if I was completely bald or had a full bush either.

You originally stated clearly that you were doing it because it made you feel more comfortable during sex. I was responding to that - which, in my opinion, is ludicrous given the discomfort you're willing to endure to achieve hairlessness. I think it's fair for me to point this out.

Disturbia81 · 05/01/2026 16:05

I don’t look at a shaved man and see a little boy 🙄 and most men I’ve been with are fully shaved.

Overstimulated · 05/01/2026 16:05

Another one for epilating.
I epilate both my armpits and my fanny now. I cannot do my legs though, hurts too much!

the it slow, pull the skin taught and take your time. After the first couple goes it gets much much easier,

Exactly! I was just thinking the same thing. It's amazing that we're not constantly asking bald men where their parents have got to.

Wtf????!!!!!! Most men fully shave their pubes? What a world!

WalkDontWalk · 05/01/2026 16:07

Why is no one challenging the idea that ‘men like it’?

Some men like it. Some men really don’t like it.

…as any heterosexual woman discovers pretty quickly.

So if you believe that it’s a patriarchy thing, why is it only the pro-shave men that are getting a say?
