SOTE is I am Verdant by Vyrao - I really like this one which was in the fresh edit

Got a sample of the new Floral Street; Bridgerton. - Enchanted Masquerade. Not sure whether I like it. It’s extremely floral, but in a very old lady way. Fragrantica says it’s a fruity floral gourmand, but I can’t smell any fruit. Not supposed to be any lavender, but that’s how it comes out to my nose.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 08/02/2026 22:00

I have I Am Verdant too & it is really lovely, I like most perfumes with cyclamen @IDontHateRainbows
And I agree with your previous comment.

SOTE L'Occitane Herbae Spartium with DS & Durga I Don't Know What

Continuing with the freshy theme I've just sprayed some Bibbi Swimming Pool. Ooh it is a fresh one and lovely on a hot summer's day I'd imagine. A little headache inducing - maybe that's the camphor. Either that or I'm coming down with something, have been asleep most of the evening. Probably the 'off work - get ill' thing that can happen.

I am verdant tops simming pool. It's not too strong. Possibly my best freshie so far.

SOTD Carolina Herrera Good Girl - I wore this a lot last year when I went through a stage of being obsessed with the stilettos. It's nice. Warming. One of the few scents wtih coffee in I've really got on with.

M daughter commented the other day when I had acne studio on. She said I smelt like granma. 🤔
Granma wears red door. Possibly similar but not what I wanted to hear. 😆

I am just reading about Elizabeth Arden Red Door, it sounds so inoffensive for the amount of negativity it has! 1989, I I guess we are wearing the future “old lady perfumes” that two generations down will associate with granny age people. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Elizabeth-Arden/Red-Door-86.html

Doglover73 · 09/02/2026 09:33

Im still going to wear it as i like it. As you say inoffensive x

Mackemlass79 · 09/02/2026 10:07

Morning ladies well haven't I came along at the wrong moment talking about granny scents 😂. However in completely stereotypical granny fashion today's SOTD is Jo Malone orange blossom. I always thought of Jo malone as an older persons perfume range however although they seem to all have very little staying power they are some of my favourites now so I guess I now fit my own stereotypical image. I shall see myself out (to nearest care home)

IDontHateRainbows · 09/02/2026 13:46

Memo Madurai, Wasn't sure on this at first but it grew. It has peach notes, which is not something I usually go for. quite deep, not too sharp and fruity which makes it lovely
Off to London in an hour for my birthday so this will be my travel scent. Of course once I enter the hallowed halls of Liberty all bets are off as to what I will be wearing. I'll be sure to do a progress report.

Trying to keep to a low-buy resolution at the moment, but I found that L'Artisan Perfumeur offers 2 samples for £5.50, so Venenum (spicy chai) and Il Etait Un Bois (cedar wood) are on their way to me.

SOTD IS FUGAZZI purple with BIBBI vanilla factory on top. Like being in an old fashioned sweet shop.

Checking in for @IDontHateRainbows review of the scent lounge.

Reporting for duty! My consultation is at 1.30pm.

Meanwhile I had saved 2 of the ds duga from the singles set for today my birthday.
Durga: wasn't sure at first, but has developed nicely on the dry down. Tuberose notes.

Amber Kiso: this is lovely. Reminiscent of Grand Soir. Sweeter and a little smoky.

I hope you have a fab day, full of perfume 😍

potplantsinparadise · 10/02/2026 10:38

@IDontHateRainbows HBD! Amber Kiso is amazing - I have a full bottle and think it will last me til the end of time :) Hope Liberty and the perfume-fest is wonderful!

Lurkingshark · 10/02/2026 10:51

Forgot to add I wouldn’t bother going to London selfridges perfume hall. It’s so overwhelming and busy, almost like a market!

enjoy!

Mackemlass79 · 10/02/2026 11:07

Happy Birthday @IDontHateRainbows not at all envious of your day surrounded by gorgeous fragrance but knowing me I would end up giving myself a headache. SOTD today another older one and one im still not sure of Ellie Saab girl of now

IDontHateRainbows · 10/02/2026 12:13

Thanks all for the birthday well wishes. Im in covent garden! Very dangerous- klaxon alert! Tom Ford Fig Erotique is calling to me. Also there is a delina store with the set of loads of 5ml for 330.

Not bought anything yet. Feel I need to save myself for liberty but its near enough to cone back afterwards.
The fig erotique is bloody lovely but its nearly £200 for a tiny bottle.

@IDontHateRainbows unrelated to perfume but if you're in Covent Garden, there's a Japanese bakery on the top floor of the Uniqlo if you fancy a birthday treat :)

It is very nice. I liked FE too.

IDontHateRainbows · 10/02/2026 14:29

Update. The consultation at liberty was brilliant! In a game of 'get the client pissed so they may buy something ' they gave me probably half a bottle of champers whivh I had to actually stop them pouring or I would have been stumbling out.

The consultants were really lovely, no pressure to buy at all. I only really liked one, black magenta, but not sure it tops Fig Erotique if im honest.

I would have bought a set of 6 smaller ones but they have run out.

They've left me in the consultation room with a bag of samples and the rest of the champagne!!!!!
