I too remain a Toast devotee, like others I am not sure what would wear if I didn’t have Toast. I have one of my several Bryn dresses on today and earlier wore a bracelet sleeved mohair mushroom cardigan from Toast around 8 years ago. I have to say, I rarely have a day when something isn’t Toast, whether it is a dress, top, trousers, jumper, bag, coat, pair of shoes, bag, nightee (bedding!), I have them all.
I don’t understand why the gathered silk blouse hasn’t sold out. I paid full price for the navy one and snapped up the gold one when it was reduced, it is a lovely and easy blouse.
A (pleasant) surprise for me was the shadow still print cotton silk dress. It is expensive yes, even in the sale, but i took a gamble on it and it is a keeper, a really special and lovely dress. I wonder if i could have sized down (got a 12, my usual size) but couldn’t be asked with the faff of a further return and another purchase, and the drawstrings at the side and back also you to pull it in. I am debating adding the matching scarf but not sure if I can be bothered with another order. I paid for speedy delivery for it (not next day) and it and the space dyed skirt arrived in under 24 hours. I have reordered the wool mohair round cardigan (now sold out) in the large, sizing up as many of the reviews said, but it still hasn’t been dispatched (from 2 Jan). It’s a bit annoying as I sent the small/medium back as it felt like the buttons would pull and all reviews said to size up for a much better look. I hope I am not going to end up with nothing if they tell me they can’t fulfil my order.
Oh the halcyon days of JL stocking Toast, so many bargains and such ease in ordering and returning.
I use mainly the London stores if I am shopping in-store: Hampstead have always been delightful, as have Marylebone with the exception of one cold assistant who made very little effort and had nothing to say about the stock she bought out. I have been in and out of other London branches, all fine, but they are my main two.
