Welcome to the Toast thread where we talk about what we love, (and what drives us mad 😹), about all things Toast.

As usual, pictures are welcomed, as are comments, questions and info about Toastie topics.

I see somethings have dropped in price. Probably stuff from previous sales. The stripe hand framed knit tank I bought has dropped and I think so has the over dyed indigo kantha jacket that I wondered about but wanted the price to drop further. Though maybe it is still the same price. Anyhow I’ve ordered that jacket. The thing that put me off was the indigo transferring to light colours. I have a lovely linen summer dress that was really expensive but it’s white with some blue, I’d like to have worn it with it. If it did transfer, I’m wondering how much if any transfer there would be and how permanent it’d be. It’s not like I’m sitting on a light chair with new jeans. I imagine the jacket would not be pressing hard against the dress. Does anyone have any experience of the overdyed indigo kantha jacket agains light colours?

Further reductions - cs are refunding the difference on the embroidered mini stripe dress and shirt so I will probably keep both of these.

I was surprised to see the Kantha waistcoat reduced further as it is almost sold out. I purchased that as soon as the sale started so well outside the return period.

PrincessofWells · 15/01/2026 13:58

Annoyingly I paid £145 for the mid blue dress and it's dropped to £120. @Theteapotsbrokenspout did you ask them to refund? I feel a bit cheated!
Edited to add, I would reorder and send the one back i have but I'm on holiday.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 15/01/2026 14:01

@PrincessofWells As I was still in the return period I asked on chat, they were still available in my size so I asked if I needed to reorder or whether they would refund the difference.

Thank you very much @Theteapotsbrokenspout I have asked them and they very kindly have said they will refund me the difference.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 15/01/2026 14:29

@PrincessofWells Brilliant - it’s always worth asking.

clearsky · 15/01/2026 15:59

Thank you so much @Theteapotsbrokenspout for the tip. I am getting a refund for the difference on two sale items which have been further reduced, the kantha waistcoat and the quilted bag. Sara on Toast chat was extremely helpful.

ScallopShellWalk · 15/01/2026 16:03

I asked in chat about a refund of price difference for the hand framed striped knitted tank. As I was within the return period they very kindly refunded me the difference. I am very happy about this. It’s good to keep customers happy. This is the kind of service has me return to shops.

PrincessofWells · 15/01/2026 16:14

Yes, I agree it's very good customer service, it makes up for the long order processing time.

ScottishMouse · 15/01/2026 16:38

Seeing as my only sale purchase was a trivet, and it is now only £4 less than I paid, I don't think I will be troubling them for a refund.
Separate question - has anyone bought the indigo alix trousers recently and found the quality to not be as good as in the past? I have a couple of pairs from a few years back but they are now too small. But when I tried on the next size up in store recently I thought the fabric felt a little thinner, and the seams at the hips felt quite chunky and uncomfortable so I left them. Wondering whether I should try ordering some online to see if that was just a one-off.

Ive done the same with a dress and top.
What is the embroidered mini stripe dress like? Size down? I'm tempted!

triggers34 · 15/01/2026 17:36

De lurking . Hello lovely toasties , I do very occasionally post. Your talk of final reductions finally lured me to the sale . I’ve just bought the indigo patch pocket dungarees . I normally ignore the sale items that say low numbers because it’s normally only really small stuff left but they’re a 14 . I’ve also added long socks but they were full price.
Ive recently visited both the Harrogate and Edinburgh stores and came away with the herringbone brown black coat £625 the most I’ve ever spent on a coat or actually anything. It’s bound to go in the bloody sale, oh well I’m enjoying wearing it! Dh thinks I’m mad !

I tried on some of the new stock if it helps anyone , the brown check wool blend trousers , snug on the waist as an M&S 14 large was the perfect fit and I love them, but over £300 and dry clean only, I reluctantly put them back . I also tried the blue stripe trousers , true to size , they didn’t suit me at all.
My non Toast purchase was indigo M&S barrel leg trousers £30 and not unsimilar to Toast style I’m 5 ft 2 and got petite , they are perfect!

Countmeout · 15/01/2026 17:44

@ScallopShellWalk , I have the overdyed jacket. I got it in Reworn for a bargain out price. Mine is dark navy with brownish black under pattern. It has been great in that it goes with a lot of my clothing and I wore it lots before it got cold. Also have worn as an extra layer under raincoat. I haven’t noticed any dye transfer.

ScallopShellWalk · 15/01/2026 18:01

@Countmeout thank you so much for letting me know that. I like the sound of how and when you wore it, I am hoping to do the same. I’m pleased also to hear you didn’t find any colour transfer. I’ll be careful if I use it with this particular dress. Otherwise I think I’ll enjoy it. That is unless the colours are far out. I kind of want this to be a quiet jacket.

ScallopShellWalk · 15/01/2026 18:20

@ShrankLastWinter thought I’d mention that there’s another 10 listed in the organza skirt.
and deco geo trousers in xl @BettinaInDenmark

Abdnshireoutdoorsy · 15/01/2026 18:38

My order finally arrived now that the snow has melted - there wasn’t much difference between the XS and S in the cord barrel leg trousers but I think they’re both going back. If the size S had been sale price I’d have kept them but the rise is a bit long for me so they blouse a bit at the front and the XS which was on sale is a smidge too small. Gutting after such a long wait but I think I’d regret keeping them for full price if I don’t instantly love them. I wish they had more of a barrel shape actually - they’re almost straight legged in appearance.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 15/01/2026 19:02

@neveradullmoment99 the embroidered ministripe dress is a good fit for me in my normal 12. I’m a busty 12 so I wouldn’t size down as it would probably gape. At this stage in the sale I would probably purchase in two sizes if I was unsure.

Allwellthatendswell · 15/01/2026 19:26

Thanks to this wonderful thread, I've just used chat on the Toast website and been issued with the £20 extra that has just been taken off my new dress. It's the pleated cotton linen dress in navy, which I loved in store and now own!

mizu · 15/01/2026 19:30

@triggers34 I’ve just received the patch pocket dungarees in a 10 and they are too snug around the hips / middle (precisely the reason I sold my Jesse dungarees but thought these were a bit more oversized) but a 12 has come back into stock so I’ve ordered those and will return the 10.

Wore a TOAST denim skirt to work today and that was a little snug too 🤔

Countmeout · 15/01/2026 19:44

I’ve just got my missing 2p back 1p at a time. Weird.

ScallopShellWalk · 15/01/2026 19:45

I have noticed on the toast website that the size suggestion has reduced all my suggested sizes by one size. 😮 I wish 😆

CakeAndJazz · 15/01/2026 19:53

Am quite sad I missed out on the Flower Mountain claret red/copper trainers…looking for a 38 is anyone is returning a pair - please let me know so I can look out for it (and thank you).

I’ve kept the navy bobble hat, striped easy sweater and the weekly planner this sale - very low spend for me.

Have not yet managed to get hold of the cashmere dress and dungarees in my size (but will keep an eye out).

faustina · 15/01/2026 20:10

Big restock. There was a raised stripe shirt in peashoot which has been on my Wishlist for ages - I didn't realise it was in the sale until now. Only the smallest size left but I won't know if I don't at least try!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 15/01/2026 21:10

@mizu thats exactly why I sent the patch pocket dungarees back, but as they were big everywhere else on me I didn’t bother trying to get a bigger size.

I got the raised stripe shirt in peashoot in a sale way back, but returned it because it was quite large, So if you ordered a size smaller that our usual, you will probably be ok.
