Were there any stand out bits or things you recommend from the Harrods?

Im stalking the Liberty BAC thread as I’m a beauty drop aficionado and have loved that calendar in the past but feel like i dodged a bullet there!

My recommendations from the Harrods calendar so far ✨
I haven’t tried most of the products yet, but from the ones I have used:
The U Beauty Resurfacing Compound is incredible 😍 I’ve used it four times since we received it on the 10th and my skin already feels firmer (in the best way!) 😊
The EviDenS The Special Mask is also a standout, it's very cooling and perfect for depuffing and sculpting 🥰
I also liked the Rodial Glow lighter and if I needed more bronzer, I'd be buying a full size of this.

Seahorses12 · 23/12/2025 08:42

Love a bit of luxury skin care, a great day!

OvaHere · 23/12/2025 08:50

Really like this drawer. I forgot I added a 15ml of The Rich Cream I got from a beauty edit in there too so a double AB day for me.

I've used quite a few 7ml sample sizes of the retinol serum before and it is really nice. I use The Rich Cream as my regular night cream and love it but I wouldn't buy actives like the retinol or Vit C from the brand as they're so expensive for the time they would last. The Rich Cream I can usually get on sale and the 30 or 50ml size lasts long enough to just about justify the cost.

For retinol/retinal my fave is the Medik8 Crystal Retinal and I also like Sunday Riley A+ - both of those are expensive enough. I did try prescription tretinoin for about a year, which is much cheaper but I just couldn't get along with it.

I've been lucky enough to have both Space NK & Liberty this year too. I'm enjoying both of them. Space NK was my first choice. I bought the Liberty as a last minute indulgence using my Beauty Drop credit. The 8 perfumes in it were a big draw for me, but some people are moaning on the Liberty thread that there are too many for them. I always check the contents before choosing a calendar. The luxury ones are too expensive for me to blind buy. The contents are released from July now, so I've forgotten most of them by December and each day is still a surprise. I've loved opening my ACs every morning. I have piles more clutter now & January mornings are going to be very dull.

I guess on the back of the scent kits popularity Liberty decided a lot of perfume was a big draw. It definitely is for some, my friend bought it for the first time this year for the fragrance.

It seems like quite a lot of people blind buy Liberty year on year more for beauty/skincare stuff and obviously with all the fragrance there's less of that than there might otherwise have been.

I think I prefer a BAC with one or two scents and a fragrance calendar to be separate like SNK and HN but both those fragrance calendars struggled to sell this year.

Possibly they overproduced this year based on underproducing last year, not sure? HN was a decent curation but perhaps the lack of at least one 30ml put people off. SNK fragrance (imo) wasn't a good curation this year. I still bought it but seriously regret not waiting and picking it up discounted for £100.

I bought last year's HN fragrance AC and loved it. This year I wasn't tempted - even when it was greatly reduced. There were at least 2 repeats from the previous year and lots of scents (like Molecule 1) that have been included in ACs and beauty boxes for years.

OvaHere · 23/12/2025 09:44

@Housewife2010 I didn't get HN last year so it was fine for me. I can see why repeats would put regular buyers off.

I don't think the BAC/FAC teams probably have as much choice in curation as we would like them to have. I imagine it's a question of which brands are willing to take part and what products they're willing to offer. Some like Harrods maybe have a bit more sway in negotiations than others.

Hollyrosehome · 23/12/2025 11:28

I'm hoping Liberty read these posts (excellent customer research content!) the perfume 100% put me off this year as I only liked (but have repurchased twice!) one fragrance from the four of the previous year. I loved one, HATED 2 of them - Faces of Frances - gah, and preferred the smell on my partner of the other. I couldn't take that risk this year with so many more. Fragrance is far too contentious unless you are looking specifically for a fragrance calendar. It's bad enough with coloured cosmetics but they are easier if they stick to neutrals and classic shades.

I was really worried I wouldn't enjoy the Space NK one as much but other than the Charlotte Tilbury glitter tan it's been brilliant. 2 days to go!

MiaN · 23/12/2025 12:21

Ah, this is the best advent. I wish AB products are bit cheaper as they are such a treat but glad I am getting to try them

"Glitter tan" is the perfect description for that makeup item. It's orange. 🤣

So far I’ve only tried the perfume which I really like, it’s a very autumn fragrance and wouldn’t be a usual pick: Etat Libra d’Otange.
I also like the La Pairie cleanser.
I’ve not tried anything wise yet but have taken a pic of what I’m looking forward to the most:

I'm happy to try the retinol from today, but this is a brand I've been avoiding because I think it's overpriced for what it is. I could be wrong since I only tried minis so far. I am currently using the retinal serum from Paula's Choice but I think it's running out so good timing I guess.

WeAreBorg · 23/12/2025 19:25

Thank you so much for all the Harrods insider info!
the U beauty thingy looks really good but sooo pricy.

haha I like the CT glitter tan, just need to wheel out my leopard print and my massive hoops and then I’m out!

NessShaness · 24/12/2025 07:13

I really like today’s, and it’s a double drawer too!

WeAreBorg · 24/12/2025 07:28

Not for me - vanilla fragrances make me feel a bit sick and I’ve got a sample of Debaser - gets good reviews and I should like it in theory but it smells like burning tar on me

but objectively a great drawer as two quality perfumes that most normal people would like!

Talisin · 24/12/2025 07:36

Not tried either of these before (and will not be doing so until at least Boxing Day) but the vanilla one sounds right up my street!

Seahorses12 · 24/12/2025 08:11

Two great perfumes today! The Phlur Vanilla Skin is 9.5ml, I tried it in SpaceNK a few weekes ago and absolutely loved it. The Debaser 7.5ml is also very nice, on me the dominant scent is Fig.

mynameiscalypso · 24/12/2025 08:16

I’ve got a stinking cold at the moment so these are lost on me for the moment but I’m generally a big fan of vanilla scents so very happy. I love the description of the Debaser scent as well, looking forward to that too.

MiaN · 24/12/2025 08:25

Not happy with the choices of perfumes myself but I sold the vanilla when I got it and debasar I will give a chance at some point

IDontKnowWhatYouMean · 24/12/2025 08:57

I love the Debaser - I actually tried it yesterday as I am away and opened my remaining drawers on Sunday.
Perfume absolutely NEVER lasts on me, no matter how expensive. But I can still smell this now (don’t worry, I will be having a shower soon 😂). I love the scent and very impressed with the longevity 👏

bodyofproof · 24/12/2025 10:08

I don’t like the debaser so open to sending that to someone! I love the vanilla skin

moogdroog · 24/12/2025 10:33

Chuffed with today's. Been hankering after Debaser for a few years (trying it every time I went to the big city and popped in Space NK, but never quite justifying the splurge - and DH missed the hints for 18 months). The other perfume is bloody lovely and a decent size.
Have loved this calendar (and the thread, apologies for mostly lurking)

Hollyrosehome · 24/12/2025 10:41

Love both fragrances amazingly. Normally hate vanilla but this is more refined than overly sweet. Very different from each other. Debaser is 😍

BlueLimes · 24/12/2025 11:44

Excited to try both. Happy Christmas Eve 🎄😊

Combining the shower oil with the vanilla perfume and I officially smell like a snack.
