Hi, if you have the Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar or are just interested in what’s inside, then please feel free to join in by posting your thoughts on each day’s contents.

If you have swapped out any doors, you can either skip a day here or just tell us what you have swapped in and why!

As is ‘usual’ on these threads, please try to avoid revealing each day’s contents before 7am UK time.

I’m really pleased with today’s perfume. I replaced, I think, five of the drawers with bits from the HN calendar, and I’m very happy with what I’ve had so far. The contents are much better for my tastes than last year.

Primrosespaw · 14/12/2025 11:30

I like the perfume today. The only one I didn’t like was Bibbi, which I have had in a set and gifted. I am a perfume addict so this calendar has been a good investment for me other than sketchy mascara and itchy curry shampoo.

TragicMuse · 14/12/2025 11:42

The scent is totally not me. So far they’ve all been very ‘pink’ and rounded, and on the same sweet/sugary palette - for me, anyway. But imho that’s modern scent-making now. It’s all about the sugar.

I long for something woody, citrusy, a bit spiky, green…

I’m not disappointed exactly, but I do want variety.

Housewife2010 · 14/12/2025 11:45

I found Vyrao to be very green.

PuzzlingRecluse · 14/12/2025 11:53

I LOVE today’s perfume, very pleased with the size too. I was a vanilla impulse girl so that’s probably why I love it so much, happy bunny here.

mascara also dry & pointless, for me it was a bit free sample size if that makes sense? I’m not contacting customer services on that one as I’ve already contacted about the shampoo.

for those waiting customer service replies I contacted on the WhatsApp as my shampoo had leaked, I didn’t get a response but a replacement arrived in yesterdays post.

BIossomtoes · 14/12/2025 12:29

Another scent I don’t like. Last calendar for me.

TurtleyProudDuck · 14/12/2025 12:38

Best comment I saw is that they are all masculine and smell like an estate agent’s aftershave. So gutted that they all seem to smell so similar (and terrible)!

Caramelandsalt · 14/12/2025 12:42

I've just read on the Harrods thread that today's drawer was a Christopher Robin hair scrub . I have this scrub and have been using it in my face . 🫣

I presume you still have a face so it can't be that bad! 😂

I really like the perfume you all got today. I bought one from Vinted a while back.

IlovePond · 14/12/2025 12:56

Hi, I can’t say I like today’s perfume, but I will use it up for work as it’s not absolutely awful on me.

I got an email in the early hours of today from CS saying they will send me another mascara, so that’s good news. They have probably had a lot of complaints.

I agree with those who’ve said it’s such a small sample size with such a huge brush that it’s hard to tell what the product is supposed to be like. A very disappointing effort from Liberty, but at least it was a double door.

For those who have had a bad reaction to the shampoo, please let CS know. They need to be made aware of these things!

On a related note:

Thanks @Chickydoo for telling CS of your experience with the TM lipstick. Those of us who reacted seem to have been given the old formulation, (from looking at reviews, it seems this lipstick was ‘changed’ to the lighter version 18-24 months ago). Apart from anything else, it’s not acceptable to be getting such old stock in a high- priced a/c, (if that’s actually what has happened- which seems most likely, rather than it being a dodgy batch).

I haven't checked my mascara yet. If it had been the only product in the drawer I would have thought it rather stingy, but to me it was a bonus and the £24 Lisa Eldridge eyeliner was the main event.

I don't count it as a bonus as it was one of the items listed in contents of advent calendar and personally I was waiting on the mascara and now have to buy one - I'm not expecting the same sized replacement to be any different. It's good that it came on same day as nice brand eyeliner so agree that it feels "better" - but really the mascara is a free sample size rather than a "travel size" with only half a teaspoons worth of dried out liquid and shouldn't be itemised in a luxury calendar. Bah humbug.

Iwishihadarivericouldskateawayon · 14/12/2025 13:12

I've just received a reply from Liberty. The reply is awful, it isn't related to my complaint at all. They say i am reporting the mascara as damaged, however I never said it was damaged. They haven't responded to the lipstick. They also say i had a previously good experience with their calendars, this isn't true, as this is my first liberty ac. It is such a generic, copy and pasted reply, this level of customer service is the final straw and I won't be shopping with them again. I've not bothered responding to correct their errors, they have shown they have no customer care, I'm not wasting my time

HumBumBum · 14/12/2025 13:13

i Am definitely doing this now @AndeanFlamingo

I‘m undecided about the perfume today, it’s ok but I don’t love it yet - shall give it more time. It’s lasted a few hours so far, decent lasting power.

IlovePond · 14/12/2025 13:25

Oh no, that’s not good @Iwishihadarivericouldskateawayon

I would be tempted to respond, if only because it’s not acceptable when companies pick and choose what they reply to in an email!

I am disappointed with Liberty CS. If they had replied to my first email about the lipstick with something like:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are sorry that the product did not suit you. We have not previously been aware of any issues with this product, but will feedback to our suppliers.

with or without an offer of £10 credit or something, I would have been ok. As it is, they ‘doubled down’ so I have responded and so it continues!

I agree with you about not shopping with them again. This was my very first luxury calendar and I am disappointed by the CS.

What a contrast with HN - when I had to contact them about a problem last year, they were profusely apologetic and resolved the issue immediately. The result? I would shop there again with confidence, ditto ROKA and H&B, (both of whom have good CS, btw!)

No i don't have the time or energy to be in a continual cycle with Liberty and their atrocious customer service. I'd rather shop elsewhere and forget they exist. My time is more valuable, they had a chance to put it right, they failed, therefore no more chances

redluckycat · 14/12/2025 13:41

I’ve had terrible CS from H&B in the past! Some companies will have better policies than others but I imagine it’s often down to the individual dealing with you.

One company took my money for an order, but their site crashed and came up with an error message so the order didn’t go through. Fair enough, but CS refused to pass the case to their finance dept despite screenshots showing the money had actually come out of my account a couple of days later! It went on for over a month with them refusing to help, and they eventually stopped responding. It took writing to the CEO for the case to get looked at - the finance dept confirmed they had my money and I had my money back plus a voucher as an apology within days!

IlovePond · 14/12/2025 14:06

You’d think companies would be better at CS - I do agree that all too often it depends on who picks up the issue first!

I also agree life’s too short - I am currently trying to be ‘more yoga’ in my day to life, (as they say at my gym!) I’ll let you all know how that goes 😹

I absolutely agree. Far too many fragrances for what is supposed to be a beauty calendar. May use the Granado one on holiday as it's very sweet and a bit cloying to wear in the uk, but the rest are really not me. Bit of a waste of money overall, and the tiny mascara from one of my favourite brands was a killer. Why so little make up and skincare?

narniabusiness · 14/12/2025 16:16

I’m loving all the perfumes. None of them are going to replace my favourites but I just enjoy having a range of different styles and smells. It’s what I’d expect from Liberty as they are known for stocking all these niche brands. Their Beauty Hall is very perfume orientated.
Luckily my mascara is working fine and I’ve got the hang of that big brush. It looks quite good and no smudging.

jay55 · 14/12/2025 17:05

I thought today’s perfume was really faint on me, couldn’t smell it at spritz but can a few mins later and I like it. Sweet and Smokey on me, like I’ve been eating toffee at a bonfire.

shinny · 14/12/2025 17:21

I had terrible CS from HN which led to me returning the BAC & buying Liberty so I really think it depends who you get on the day.

Liberty was chosen by me due to many perfumes so I’m happy. Was at a family party earlier and someone commented on my lovely perfume- it’s Vrayo the green one - so I was v happy!

Tirednamechange · 14/12/2025 18:07

Another one woth a faulty mascara here. And I won't use the eye liner as I don't wear makeup. I meant to replace that drawer but life has been so hectic recently. I LOVE today's perfume, I'm sorely tempted to get another on vinted (or 3🤣) unless anyone wants to swap for something later on.

TheCovetedDuchessRose · 14/12/2025 18:41

I’ll swap the Vrayo perfume for something, if anybody is interested, especially the Bibbi perfume or the eye pencil. Would also swap the eye masks.

redluckycat · 14/12/2025 18:46

Fragrance is part of ‘beauty’ to me!
(In response to “Far too many fragrances for what is supposed to be a beauty calendar” above)

Skibunnygal · 14/12/2025 19:03

I also love today's perfume. Its my favourite by a very long country mile of the perfumes we've been presented with in beauty drops & calendars!
