Hi, if you have the Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar or are just interested in what’s inside, then please feel free to join in by posting your thoughts on each day’s contents.

If you have swapped out any doors, you can either skip a day here or just tell us what you have swapped in and why!

As is ‘usual’ on these threads, please try to avoid revealing each day’s contents before 7am UK time.

I love the texture of the Lisa Eldridge eye liner & agree that it’s very similar to VB’s eyeliner but even better IMO.

My JR mascara is also dry & clumpy. Will email CS.

@Chickydoo - do contact CS; they have acknowledged the problem and are sending out new ones.

Those with dried up mascaras, please do contact Liberty. I had a similar issue with a brow gel a couple of years ago and they offered to replace it or send me a £20 voucher so I was winning either way.

I am also Lady Liberty tonight – off out to DD's concert in the new eyeliner and mascara. Liking both. My mascara is LN2 btw. Fragrance is from my home-made calendar tho – Velvet Amber by M&S I think

Just opened my mascara and it is also clumpy- a huge lump pulled out and when I tried to put the brush back everything mushed around the top.

I had a different code LM2 - but it’s definitely gone off.

Is anyone interested in a swap shop at the end of the advent calendar? I have the LE eye pencil and two perfumes I would like to swap.

I've also got a bad mascara. I emailed them this morning, and included the incident i had with the lipstick. They haven't responded to me at all, which is strange as others are reporting they have had responses

Yes happy to swap Bibbi for vyrao @Iwishihadarivericouldskateawayon (happy to hang on for others) but I’m keeping my ex Nihilo as I quite like that one.

Just thinking about this mascara issue, I’m not a heavy user of mascara so I tend to keep them for a long time - I’m sure I’ve had tubes for 5+ years before and they’ve been ok to use (as in not dry and clumpy). This stuff must be ancient!

I'm away at the moment so have opened ahead, was really pleased with today's drawer love that the liner is brown much better for me than black! Wish it had a smudger on the end though. Thankfully my mascara is okay as I packed it without trying it and it's the only one I've brought so I would have been stuffed if I had a dried up one! Brought the mirror water with me too and have just tried it - absolutely gorgeous - for me that's the type of thing I love to get in the calendar something luxurious that I would never have come across or bought for myself smells lovely.

My Jones Road mascara is batch no. LL2. It’s dried out and in one big clump as if it’s 20 years old! I opened it excitedly with my daughter this morning and we both reacted with the same bleurgh noise once we pulled out the wand! I’ll contact Liberty CS. With the candle last year that they had to recall and this mascara now potentially being an issue… not great for them. But I was pleased with my credit last year and hopefully get another positive reply from them about this.

The eye patches are lovely, interested in thoughts on which side should go again the skin.

@HumBumBum - I agree - I have some pretty old mascara that is still absolutely fine.

Either this mascara is ancient and/or it’s really poor quality. I won’t be buying anything from Jones Road in future.

I am reasonably sure that the lipstick I got is really old stock and that’s two items now that I cannot use due to quality issues.

@Iwishihadarivericouldskateawayon thanks for telling Liberty CS about your reaction to the lipstick. Liberty haven’t acknowledged that there is an older formulation of this lipstick knocking around or a problem with adverse reactions, but if enough people say something, perhaps they will accept that it’s an actual issue!

I am quite disappointed: I wasn’t expecting to get old/dodgy items in a calendar this expensive and would have expected CS to take complaints more seriously.

@Allisnotlost1 - most people seem to think the smooth side but then why have one side bobbly? 🤷‍♀️ I’m confused!

I thought the same - assumed the matrix pattern was for a purpose but they didn’t stick.

Sorry had a bad experience with CS. I’ve usually found them really helpful. I have batch number LL2 on the Jones Road and it looks ok.

I’ve been excitedly waiting until after 7 to post! So happy with today’s, I love Grenado and hadn’t tried this scent. It may be a new favourite!

I normally like a sweeter scent but this is way too one dimensional for me. The first thing I’ve come across that is an outright sell or swap (though the Bibbi perfume may well end up in that category).

My mascara is fine and I found it very good when I tried it yesterday. I’m a real Goldilocks about mascara and was very pleased to see this doesn’t smudge on me as I normally have to rely on tubing mascaras to avoid that.

For those who have a clumpy mascara please don’t let it put you off the wider brand. I have a number of products from there that I rate.

This was another I sold. I haven’t liked any of the Granado scents I’ve tried! I replaced it with a True Botanicals Sleep serum which was in another advent ( don’t want to say which in case anyone has it!!) that I bought from Vinted. My mascara was also very clumpy and dry so I’ve messaged Customer Services.

Hmmm. Was excited to see Granada this morning as I love Bossa and Jardim Real. However, it’s yet another masculine scent that will be given to my dh.

I love today’s, it might be my favourite so far as I love vanilla. It smells pretty sweet on me. It’s a generous size too, at 25ml.
