Sorry to read of all the adverse reactions to the lipstick!! It’s only a very slight tingle on me but I read the ingredients yest when folk said they didn’t experience that and I couldn’t see anything written down about lip plumping etc. Hope the side effects pass soon!

H3lloMums · 06/12/2025 18:55

@IlovePond - at the end of the lipstick where the name is there's also a number

TheFutureIs · 06/12/2025 19:06

Mine is the same batch, it’s got a minty scent but no tingle. And definitely no allergic reaction (and I’m allergic to lots of things!)

Iwishihadarivericouldskateawayon · 06/12/2025 19:16

Number on mine is also 69171
I'm not quite sure what I'd email Liberty.
My lips are fine now but my tongue is still affected

narniabusiness · 06/12/2025 19:23

69171 on mine as well and I’m not aware of any tingling or minty scent. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve reacted so badly to it. If Liberty customer service haven’t taken it seriously then they should. I would think Trish McEvoy would want to know as well.

Primrosespaw · 06/12/2025 19:43

I think Liberty need to take the allergic reactions seriously and a poor show if not. I’m allergic to so many things but not this, no minty smell or feel at all, so a different batch is very possible. I do hope everyone affected feels better soon. Really scary to have an allergy that effects the mouth and throat.

IlovePond · 06/12/2025 11:39

That’s interesting that no plumping is mentioned for the product but it’s clearly got something in it. My tongue is still really hurting and the back of my throat is sore 😿

It’s also are strange that it’s so dark on me but pale on other people!

Thanks for the list of the ingredients @AndeanFlamingo

Edited

Sorry to hear you had this reaction, how horrible. I had a quick search of the ingredient and it seems polybutene or isopropyl palmitate are the most likely irritants so you might want to look out for them in other lip products.

IlovePond · 06/12/2025 21:27

Thanks, @Allisnotlost1 and to everyone who has replied.

I am going to reply to Liberty saying - again -that they need to warn people of potential allergens as they ignored that part of my email completely.

Since today’s debacle I have been doing a bit of research on lip plumpers and it seems that some people, (and I’m obviously one of them), can react badly to them. I read on the ingredients list for one - I think it was a Dior product - that any tingling should only be momentary and that any further reaction such as discomfort, swelling, etc. should lead to the product being discarded. So they at least warn people, (even it this warning is buried at the bottom of ingredients lists that aren’t even detailed on every site!)

I’ve just tried mine without my Burt’s Bees minty/ tingly lip balm.
Mine doesn’t tingle but has a slight minty smell and is sheer/ light as posted.
It’s also 69171.

redluckycat · 06/12/2025 22:06

I just found a review with someone saying they changed the formula so whereas it was a dark colour it is now a watered down version. The reviews reflect this with some saying it’s a deep colour and others saying it’s no more than a lip gloss and is very sheer! Very odd!

H3lloMums · 06/12/2025 22:18

oh that's strange then @narniabusiness - any letters after the number on yours with no minty smell?

Yeah sounds like it @redluckycat mine is pretty dark and minty so I'm guessing the older formula

IlovePond · 06/12/2025 22:20

Yes, @redluckycat ! That’s it - mine is really really dark on the lips and I was expecting pale pink like @Ilikeyoursleeves posted. You have hit the nail on the head! Could you please post the link to that review?

Thanks

Same batch number here. It did seem a bit minty but no tingling and no adverse reaction. It’s definitely more sheer on me than colourful as well.

No letters after the number, and I would say mine is quite sheer and pale when applied. There was a large sheet of paper in with the advent calendar which should have the ingredients listed on it. I’ve avoided looking at mine because I didn’t want spoilers about the contents but it might be helpful.

It’s a review on Amazon. I’m a bit wary about posting a link as I vaguely remember in the past people mentioning that Amazon links sometimes show accounts! But when I googled the product, Amazon was one of the top results.

IlovePond · 06/12/2025 22:47

Ok, thanks anyway @redluckycat - I was wondering how the heck it could look pretty and pale pink on @Ilikeyoursleeves whilst making me look like an extra from a horror film as it was so dark and purple!

I’m feeling vindicated now as it’s obvious that I, together with some other people on here, have ended up with the older formulation that can have unpleasant side effects for some people.

Hmm today’s perfume smells very familiar… like a 99% copy of Le Labo’s Santal? I do like it though, feels like a bit of a blast from the past. Last year’s Bibbi perfume went to my mum who loves it (and I really didn’t 😬). I think I shall have to keep this one but I can’t quite believe how similar it is to Le Labo!

Howmanyroses · 07/12/2025 08:10

What do we think about today's? It's another perfume that I cannot get on with. It's probably going straight on Vinted 😂

PuzzlingRecluse · 07/12/2025 08:13

I’m undecided about today’s perfume, I may also put on vinted. Don’t hate it, don’t love it either. Does smell familiar though 🤔

I contacted liberty cs about the shampoo leaking, still awaiting a response.

2025istheyeari · 07/12/2025 08:14

@spoekeso interesting you think that. Le Labo Santal is one of my favourite perfumes but I really disliked this one and sold it on Vinted! Another drawer where I replaced with something else! I also didn’t like the Bibi in last years and sold that on! I do get that perfumes are very personal, and I like the fact they’re put a few very different ones in here so far albeit I’ve only personally liked one!
I retried the lipstick after all the comments, I’ve got the same serial number and it’s definitely tingly but is sheer on me. Will be interested in what Liberty say when you message them again @IlovePond.

Chickydoo · 07/12/2025 08:28

Not for me today, another overpowering scent.

narniabusiness · 07/12/2025 08:32

I do love a perfume with a hint of violet and I was surprised how subtle the sandlewood is in this. My previous experience of Bibbi perfume was a rather strong masculine one. I’m not sure if I love it yet but it’s growing on me. One thing I don’t like about this brand is the packaging though. Someone up thread said how important presentation is to the enjoyment of the product, and this one looks, dare I say I say it, a bit Poundland to me.
£22 pro rata from the full size bringing the total to £207 so far by my reckoning.

redluckycat · 07/12/2025 08:50

Another perfume that I really like! It smelt familiar to me too, so I googled and AI says it’s similar in vibe to Le Labo Santal 33. It’s not that for me though as I haven’t experimented with new perfumes since having my DC. I think it might be the powderiness reminding me of one of something. The bottle isn’t the most appealing though!

EdinaMonsoon · 07/12/2025 08:50

I loved the initial smell of the Bibbi perfume but within a minute of applying it had a distinct whiff of salad dressing! I’m guessing that’s the Italian lemon top note but it was overpowering on my skin. Now it’s had around an hour to settle I can detect the violet and sandalwood. I always expect sandalwood fragrances to be instantly deeper and more intense - masculine perhaps which I usually prefer - but there’s something wonderfully feminine and elegant about this scent. I mean that in a womanly sense rather than girlish.

redluckycat · 07/12/2025 08:51

It’s £22 pro rata from the full size but the travel size is sold on the Bibbi site for £42.
