I wonder if there's a biography on her

I think wearing a mink stole is probably a bit risky, nowadays. I like the cape, I think more capes should be worn. They always add drama.

I have a mink capelet. Again ancient. I used to wear it. Lent it to my DIL once who was a bit nervous. I said style it out say it's an excellent fake.

I've done that a few times in days gone by.

These days we don't get the gripping cold especially in Wales so it's really too warm to wear real fur.

Burgundy is such a lovely autumn colour.

Letizia's turn to get the burgundy out now. Love the sequinned skirt and its only Massimo Dutti, so fairly affordable. As ever, she is also queen of the Spanish high street chains!

Leti looks fab and I absolutely love the sweater with chunky chain necklace 😍

I have my mums mink short coat in the wardrobe in the spare room. Neither of us are brave enough to wear it. She did in Spain in the winter, the rural Spanish are less bothered than the Brits (and my DH)

deeahgwitch · 19/11/2025 14:15

I have heard recently of someone wearing a fake fur who got an egg thrown at her.

Thank you faux fur goes in the washing machine 😁

Eaumyword · 19/11/2025 14:44

Leti looks GOOD there.

Maireas · 19/11/2025 14:49

I love Leti's outfit. 👍 The burgundy top and sequinned skirt, chunky necklace and earrings. Lovely. Massimo Dutti is one of her favourites.

Leti looks like how I fantasise I’ll look like on Christmas Day. The reality is four stone heavier, covered in goose fat!

That burgundy is definitely a colour to go for.

We sold DH’s gran’s fur coats and stoles on eBay as DD was adamant they were never coming in the house. I didn’t remind her she crawled about the floor growling with them draped over her when she was wee. They were bought by theatrical costumers, I guess they need authenticity for period dramas.

justasking111 · 19/11/2025 17:34

There was a company who bought them to export overseas. Charities would quietly unload them that way. Other countries still wear fur.

Countries where it's very cold wear fur as there isn't much that's better for keeping you warm and blocking the wind in sub-Arctic temperatures. Bit different to wearing it as a fashion statement!

ExquisiteDresses · 19/11/2025 17:43

I suspect I’ll find my grandmother’s fur coat somewhere when we get to the stage of clearing Mum and Dad’s house. They have a lot of wardrobe space and mum has a tendency to hoard. I remember it was so silky but no way would I wear it.

I went to Moscow for Christmas once - and was amazed by the number of people wearing full-length fur coats - on the tube, on the bus…. (It was -20 or so, though!)

justasking111 · 19/11/2025 18:43

30 odd years ago DH went to Italy on business with an Italian it was bitterly cold. Italians men and women were wearing fur. He was amazed. He said it was all very glamorous looking like an old Hollywood movie.

justasking111 · 19/11/2025 18:46

I remember a friend who had a very sick cat. She used an old fur to make a nest for the poorly thing. It survived.

RockaLock · 19/11/2025 18:46

Royal Variety dress alert!!

Have we seen this one before? I’m not sure I recognise it. She look lovely.

Beautiful, but no I don't recall it. Warm fabric though.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 19/11/2025 18:52

That's a new one, and has she cut her hair?

The dress reminds me of my school formal dress - that was green velvet top!

Maireas · 19/11/2025 18:53

Green velvet? Gawgus.
