@JoRaRaRa😂 it is a bit. In some cultures the bits of oud wood are used to scent homes by placing the wood on charcoal burners. It produces a fragrant smoke. I don’t like oud too much though and prefer frankincense resin, which can be used similarly, and is also tree sap!

Went to.HN at lunchtime as I dont trust them to deliver, loads of frag Cals still in store so they really underestimated demand, best of all it was £102 at the tillnot the £122 expected so.i think they took 30% off the already discounted 15% off or something. So I bought a fenty gloss stick with the savings.

Oh wow! How many of them did you buy? If it goes down to £100 online, I think I'll pick up another one. I might not have needed to go mad on vinted over the FDB sirene 🤣

Dangerous I've found a way to get to HN on the tram from work, took an extended lunch break and working late!

Very interesting @IDontHateRainbows . I have put it in and out of the basket sbout 8 times in last 3 months. I just bought the 2 bits I really wanted off vinted (channelling @MiaN ) but if it was 102, I’d be tempted to stack it up for future gifts and reselling😵‍💫.

i hope it will mean post advent bargains on vinted for us all!

SOTD exquisite tenation l’atelier perfumer, after finding the other one yesterday. More complex and floral and smells different on each wrist. Glad I found them, they are warm and wintertimey. I had to look up what tenation means though.

Found the Byredo at Heathrow T5 this morning so had a good spray of Alto Astral and Rose of No Mans Land.
The rose is very nice and puts me in mind of the long discontinued Stella.
Alto Astral is gorgeous and I keep sniffing my wrist. Dry musky fragrance with a creaminess underneath and other powdery notes. It’s like a grown-up Arizona Bloom (same perfumer.) Lovely!

It is a fantastic scent. I was the same when I first sprayed Alto Astral.

I really don't think it was supposed to be £102, but HN incompetence worked in my favour this time!
Whilst I was in store I also had a sniff of rose saltifolia by Crivelli - nice but a little too salty - and Delina which I've always been curious about but it has such high re sale value I've never kept it. Maybe this time I will as a 10ml in the frag cal.

I told my sister about the PS glitch and she ordered the freebie box that wasn't actually a freebie. She then had the email to say it was a mistake and the order had been cancelled...

Anyhow, she received the Autumn subscription box and the Deluxe box today - so not sure what's gone on there.

I'd thought it best to remain a lurker and not say what I thought about the Perfume Society incident but I don't think they're incompetent, I think they've struggled to rectify a problem caused by a load of greedy mumsnetters taking advantage of what was clearly a glitch (except the OP who encountered it after placing their order). And even if there was any doubt about whether it was a glitch, once someone was able to order 2 it was glaringly obvious.

You all do you, it's not my business but maybe lay off refferring to it as a debacle or them as incompetent as though they did something wrong. If you got your freebies, well done you; if your order was cancelled or delivery recalled, well done them; if weird things are still happening it's because they clearly haven't gotten a handle on what must have been an unprecedented, unforeseen and possibly damaging situation.

I'm not them, nothing to do with them, just a new fragrance fan who's been enjoying reading what people are using and recommending lately but who was a bit upset to see what happened to the Perfume Society.

I think you are far too invested in the perfume society and what a bunch of random people think of them.

Whoever they employ to run their websites/ payments is massively incompetent if you can add stock to a basket without the payment updating.

Pretty much the dictionary definition.

I don't think I'm invested particularly, I just feel bad for them as it seems like - yes, a ballsup at their end occurred - they / their systems are still struggling from it. I don't get the impression they're some massive corporation so I don't like that this happened to them.

But, fair enough, we each have different reactions to, and opinions on, things.

Literally doused myself in EA green tea. An oldie but a goodie. Reliably fresh and lasts longer when sprayed on clothes. If you want to smell like a spa, this is it. It’s too hot and sweaty here for anything else today. I’m a bit of an outlier on this thread as all my frags are for the tropical climate but I loved your question the other day @MiaN about what fragrance you’d choose for a winter walk in manhattan 😍 I’d choose by the fireplace I think because it just brings back nostalgic feelings for me. There’s better winter frags out there than this but I’m feeling homesick and this hits the spot. Smoky but settles down sweeter

Opened the Ataratma discovery box from the Essence Box - it's really quite good, enjoyed the saffrony one and chakra champakra which is a white floral. Wasn't so keen on the tonka - reminds me of peanut butter. all in all 2 out of 3 decent and 6 more to try.

They seem to have very expensive full bottles but no social media/marketing whatsoever which is a shame as there are some good perfumes there but no one has heard of them.

Out for a posh lunch today for a friend's birthday in town, so I will have to avoid any BF deal temptations en route.

Going to go for Ganado Boemia today I think. I love this onr so much I've gone an ordered a couple.of their other 15mls bottles from Vinted that were in advent calendars. I think they were called Esplendor and Ferzo or similar. Anyone tried either? (If I've remembered the names right!!)

yes, I wasn't a fan of Esplendor myself. Ferzo was better but reminded me of Angel's share (not as good in my opinion). It has a cocoa-ey, fruity, slightly boozy feel to it.

I also like the tropicalia which smells like carrots and nuts (in a good way!) and not some pineappley concoction I was expecting from the name.

I've just bought the Discotheque sample set and have fallen in love with Baise Moi on the Dancefloor. It's a lovely powdery scent, which I don't normally like, but this is lovely. Lola at the coat check is divine, too.

I've gone for boadicea Lannosea from (dare I say it) the Deluxe essence box. I'm not a big fan of citrussy scents in autumn winter, unless they have a Christmassy feel to them.

@IDontHateRainbows I'm looking forward to hearing your review of the box and the discovery sets 😍 I've just got one fragrance to try and then I'll do my overview of the full box 😁

@PatsyStonesBeehive the 2 discotheque scents I've tried, I've really liked so I may need to look at this set. I'd love to try the lola at the coat check. I think it's been in a calendar or edit recently and I've tried to pick it up on vinted but no such luck.
