I have a SNK £5 and there’s the 50% sale. So now I am majorly wobbling in my resolve!

JoRaRaRa · 12/01/2026 16:53

I've saved up all my empties to post 😁 Hoping to get them to Boots this week 🤞

Hair
Ouai Leave In Conditioner
I’ve used this most days for ages and it’s lasted so well. I love the scent and it leaves my hair smooth, frizz free and shiny. It’s also brilliant for detangling when my hair’s knotty and makes combing through so easy. A definite favourite, I've got a load of other leave in conditioner sprays, so I won't be rebuying any time soon.

Living Proof Triple Bond Complex
I think I go from a Cult Beauty edit. I like it so much that I’ve already bought the full size. It really does make my hair feel stronger and healthier and it’s one I’ll continue to repurchase.

Christophe Robin Hair Mask
This came from the harrods ac and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It makes my hair feel incredibly soft and smooth and gives such a nice shine. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve already rebought it from Vinted 💁🏻‍♀️

Face
Dr Barbara Sturm Foaming Cleanser
This 50ml bottle lasted forever. It makes my skin feel really clean but never stripped or tight. A gentle but effective cleanser that I enjoyed using 🤍

Augustinus Bader The Face Oil
I’m a big fan of Augustinus Bader but this isn’t my favourite product from them. It’s very hydrating and does the job well, but it’s quite thick so I can only really use it in winter. Not one I’d repurchase although I will use the one that came in the 2025 harrods ac.

Dr Barbara Sturm Face Cream
This was from the 2024 harrods ac and unfortunately it didn’t work for me. It took a long time to get through alongside other moisturisers and I felt it wasn’t hydrating enough and caused some breakouts. I won’t be rebuying.

Clé de Peau Serum
Another harrods ac find and one I really loved. It gives my skin a lovely glow and just makes it look healthier overall. I’ve already picked up another one from Vinted 😍

Clé de Peau Eye Cream
Absolutely gorgeous. It’s so soft and melts straight into the skin. I’d love to rebuy this but it’s very expensive, so I'm hoping it appears in another edit, soon! 🙏

Eve Lom Retinol Serum
I love this. I can feel it working, it sinks in beautifully, has no noticeable scent and leaves my skin glowing. The full size is £145, but I managed to get a Harrods gift set for less than half the price and it came with the cleansing balm, which I also love 🥳

Bioeffect EGF Serum
Another firm favourite. I’ve been lucky enough to pick this up in edits recently, so it’s been a while since I paid full price, but it’s a product I wouldn’t want to be without.

111SKIN Serum Sample
This came from the Cult Beauty Supreme Skin Edit. I liked it, but I’m not convinced it’s worth the price. I’d use it again if it appeared in an edit but I won’t be buying it separately.

Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Shower Gel
This came in a perfume set and it’s gorgeous. Such a nice way to layer the scent before following up with the perfume 🌸

I'm new to this thread and only realised I had a hoarding problem when I saved a sliding glass doors bookcase which was going to the tip to keep my products.
I think this started during lockdown when I regularly bought extra bottles of shower gel and shampoo.
I was subscribed to Jarmabox and bought M&S beauty boxes and advent calendars and also lucky dips of Molton Brown on ebay.
I'm aiming to use up 10 or more products each month and only buy essentials.
I've just finished Eve Lom cleansing balm
Wild shower honey and almond
about to finish Clinique Aromatics elixir
Vitaskin night cream
Lacura rose balm
Weleda lip balm
Elizabeth Arden cream foundation
Ready for February
Floral street perfume
Nuxe foam cleanser
Nip Fab retinol
Sukin rosehip day cream
I have put a few recommendations from pp on my ebay watchlist so I may be adding to my stash.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 12/01/2026 18:20

Coming here to report two empties this morning!

Sam McKnight Happy Endings Nourishing hair balm, was nice enough but don’t think I noticed a huge difference to my hair TBH! Wouldn’t buy it but I don’t tend to buy hair treatments, just shampoo and conditioner.

Molton Brown Bluebell and Wild Strawberry shower gel, a lovely scent!

Just popping along to mutter cantankerously that this no shopping melarky is a load of shite.
I did get the Liberty drop in the post today and that cheered me up a bit. I'm glad I didn't cancel that in my previously pious I Don't Need To Shop state of New Years Eve. Previous me was such a dick.

I’m not bothering with this no buy malarkey. I’d planned to but it was too miserable. Just ordered Tatcha and a John Lewis box that’s been reduced. I’ve decided to sell a Trinny eye cream though and a murad face cream (justified the Tatcha order !!).

BlueLimes · 12/01/2026 20:08

@JoRaRaRa do you need enabling yo get another Eve Lom Serum?

Nope 🤣 I didn't need the one I bought though and need to stop spending 😬

Is that the day and night serums set? This is going to knock everyone off their chairs, but I actually don't like the day serum 😱🤣 luckily...

I thought this thread was to encourage us use what we have - not add to the pile! 😂

Hangs head in shame.

Edited

Thank you. Yes, that's what I thought too. Plus occasional advice when we do need something (looking at our resident K-beauty guru in gratitude). I've been skipping over a lot of posts recently and thinking I might need to unwatch the thread as it seems to be heading more towards a beauty bargains thread. I definitely don't need encouragement in that direction.

SheilaFentiman · 13/01/2026 09:40

Aargh to the tiny brittle plastic bottles in some
gift sets, that you can’t squeeze to get the lotions out or easily cut open (looking at you, L’Occitane)

BlueLimes · 13/01/2026 09:49

Apologies that I posted on the wrong thread.

LightandBreezy · 13/01/2026 09:51

@SheilaFentiman I hear you, so irritating. Also aargh to glass bottles with pipettes for serums that are quite thick ( Alpha-H midnight reboot 👀) so you can't get half the product out. That one was a freebie but still...

BlueLimes · 13/01/2026 10:04

I made a mistake. I’m on both threads. I’ll just avoid posting here in future.

Apologies that I posted on the wrong thread.

It could just be me being grumpy because I've done a stocktake and realise I probably never need to buy anything ever again.

I have 5 toners (a couple were freebies in fairness) and I was looking at expiry dates and realised I may never get to use them if they do actually go off. Toners take me ages as I splash on using my hands rather than wasting it on cotton wool.

I do love the reviews people include with their empties though.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 13/01/2026 10:06

I wasn't referring to you specifically. Don't leave on my behalf.

keepincool · 13/01/2026 11:01

@OchonAgusOchonOh - how do you work out the expiry dates? I know there are apps that do this - but ones I've tried haven't come up with the product I'm trying to get the info on. Some of those were Boots products, so not very niche.

LightandBreezy · 13/01/2026 11:08

@OchonAgusOchonOh I don't think you're being grumpy, I've also noticed this thread getting a bit more purchase-based generally rather than review-based, and honestly it's tricky as in some ways as the two are connected - eg we've been talking about Tatcha products recently and that's partly because people want to discuss what's worked well in order to make good choices for the Fukaburo thing. And I've discussed another deal myself (in the context of not doing well with a low-buy start to the year, but buying mindfully due to my spreadsheet at least) so no judgement is intended here towards anyone, I've probably been part of the shift tbh. Maybe we should clearly define what this thread is for and collectively try to keep this thread for the reviews and celebrations of our empties again. Obviously this isn't about @Bluelimes accidentally posting on the wrong thread today, so please come back for the chat.

BlueLimes · 13/01/2026 11:16

@OchonAgusOchonOh its fine. I’m having a sensitive day.

But tbh it’s a bit much to be scolded on a thread - in general I mean, not specifically you.

Peridot1 · 13/01/2026 12:31

I don’t think it was a scolding @BlueLimes. I think it’s partly as we are all mostly here as we have zero willpower when it comes to resisting bargains!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 13/01/2026 12:41

@BlueLimes I took your posts as impish and good-natured. I'm sorry you're having a sensitive day, I have those and am not a fan. You're all good.

This thread doesn't have a Shopping Addiction label on it. I think if it needs to be a totally safe zone then regular posters can agree on some guidelines and we can follow those. I've unwatched the beauty products and GWP thread because I have no willpower, but I didn't then expect we wouldn't mention purchases or offers from time to time on this thread.

Maybe something to chat about more widely - what do we need from this thread and what would help? Is it a shopper's rehab?
