I love these boots! I’m a bit embarrassed to admit I actually have them - bought four years ago as a present to myself when I had my first child (any excuse, but they’re my only designer purchase). Still love them. Zara did loads of great dupes at the time so there might be something on Vinted? I’m going to have a look now…

£1k?? Genuine question - what makes those 10 times more expensive than other very similar leather boots?

@LastfrogintheboxThe name! Design brands like this lead and others follow. Look at their woven leather bags! Most copied trends come from designers like this. We don’t tend to copy M&S.

Well thank goodness I know nothing about designers and their stuff. It saves me a fortune.

@Lastfroginthebox You probably buy the design copies from most high street shops. Well most people do! You might still have your clothes from the 80s but even then look at the major designer - you cannot say they don’t influence what’s in the shops. They do! Even if you don’t know it.

Bottega is one of the few brands that for leather I think is worth it. The craftsmanship is phenomenal and it is not a recognisable brand in the same way as YSL or Gucci etc with it's brash logos would be. It is a traditional Italian leather brand that moved into fashion, not the other way around.

I have a Bottega bag and there is no logo on it at all. Nothing to show it is designer except for the quality.

I'm sure you're right. But seeing as I have no knowledge of designers and no interest in what they produce, and rarely buy new clothes anyway, I still save a fortune.

I was in All Saints the other day and saw those Hallie boots, in real life they are gorgeous. I have massive calves so can't wear boots that sit so high on the calf, they would cut into me and look awful, but if I could I'd have snapped them up.

The side view is horrendous , proper clown boots.

I have a similar looking leather pair from Next that were reduced from £85 to £18 in the sale. Yay! The only problem is that I drive a lot and they feel all wrong when I’m pressing the clutch🤣 I think it’s the thick soles.

I bought similar (but I think nicer) pair from M&S last year for under £50. They are really comfy as well.
